All discussion of the candidates, updates and results should go here

For example- here's a video of Ted Cruz vying for world domination.

Also Hilary Clinton is a crook and nobody should have sex with her.

Discuss

I dunno, I could see this turning into a re-run of the 1964 election. On the one hand, you've got an establishment Democrat who's shady as fuck. On the other hand, there's an outsider Republican candidate who advocates the solutions that many blue collar workers find appealing (in Trump's case banning Muslims from entering the country, in Barry Goldwater's case dropping nukes on Moscow). And the latter guy might have a certain appeal, but people will probably wake up to just how nucking futs he is when they're in the polling booths.

LBJ had serious coasting ability by rallying behind JFK's successes and legacy. He had his own merits to those that liked him, but the ability to gather votes from less fervent followers relied a great deal on Kennedy's feats and uncompleted ambitions.

The part I laugh at about Clinton supporters is that they--aside from Clinton herself--make for one of the most compelling cases for not voting for Hillary.

Yeah clinton supporters need to stfu and stop being so fucking condescending to the Bernie supporters, theyre your fucking allies now treat them like it.

"Brought to heel" isn't just for the darkies.

It's not just condescension toward Bernie supporters, it's just weird hypersensitive explosion sort of shit.

I literally saw one Clinton supporter go spastic over one guy's comment featuring the term "honey." The Clintonite was foaming at the mouth screaming "misogyny!"

They're going to get shit for no matter who they side with, Trump's horde will call them cucks, SJWs, and communists, Clinton's swarm will be condesendimg shits to anyone who didn't support the hive queen from day 1, and the Greens will stigmatize anyone who still likes Bernie as a shilling old man

I'm hoping Trump doesn't pick Mike Pence as VP but all signs point to that so far. Pence, while strong economically, has a storied history of statist evangelicalism such as pushing for constitutional bans on gay marriage, a rather disturbing thought even by ideoligically conservative standards. He's framed much of his evangelical actions as "religious freedom", but that doesn't hold water when you consider his votes and advocacy for the federal marriage amendment (the only amendment other than Prohibition, may I add, that would restrict citizens' rights rather than expanding them). His support for the flag descecration amendment also shows a more secular side to his problematic statism. Isn't using the goverment to shape society the precise thing we criticise Democrats for?

Restricting the freedom of people is cerainly not really the direction we should be going in as a free country, whether it's left or right.

Either way, Trump could add al-Baghdadi on the ticket and it would still be better than :cunt:.

Normally don't like Fox, but I had to hear this interview.

He didn't seem sure if they were going to reject medical marijuana. I can't help but think that Trump actually regrets being hands off in the platform drafting process.

In the end, Pence is a strategic pick. I may not find him the best pick, but I find him the best strategy and it vividly illustrates Trump's razor-sharp acumen.

He needs the evangelical vote to win because the GOP isn't getting behind him as it is, and he's gone over like a wet fart with them particularly for his comments like "eating the little cracker" and "never asking forgiveness".

The line up must be pretty shit if they were going to match a man who's cornerstone to his platform is fighting globalization with one who voted in favor of trade laws for over a decade, including an expansion for NAFTA to include the Central Americas and that fucking Fast Track Authority Bill. Him calling out Trump's Muslim immigration ban is a tad reassuring... but I expect some quality chimp outs when they try to justify this any more differently than Clinton tried the inverse

The more things change...

I feel they might be destined to once they hear Hillary's views on gun control and gay marriage. It seems to be the GOP powerplayers that hate him the most.

It's not about getting them to agree with you, it's about motivating them to get off their ass and go to the polling booth in the first place.

If Pence was supposed to VP, he only has until Noon to fill out the paperwork for re-entering the gubernatorial election if they're dumping him

Unless Trump is going to disreguard another policy plank that has won him support.

Nah it's standard Primary politics, appeal to the core of your party's morals, and then as soon as you secure the nomination, you change course so hard you get whiplash to gain the centrist voters who are undecided. Just have to be careful not to do it so hard you break your campaign's neck.

Expect Hilliary to throw at least one group under the bus as a sacrificial lamb once the DNC happens as well.

Sister Souljah was the designated victim last time around.

I honestly think the most likely target of such a maneuver is going to be the very dangerhairs and smug creeps who she's been throwing at "Berniebros" and the like. I will really relish the howls of anger and despair when she shafts those fuckers. I may even like her a bit again.

But someone gets to be the sacrifice. That is and always has been the way of the Clintons.

The real question is who Trump's will be.
