Maybe it's me sucking at "reading" cats but the stare the black cat gives the kitten and its body language doesn't feel like normal socialisation neither does the kitten's reaction. I doubt they've bothered to introduct the new kitten to the established animals properly.

The tranchers -- to a man -- are severely lacking in normal socialization skills (this is an exponential understatement). It's one of their defining characteristics and a huge part of why they became troons in the first place.
