Spill the beans. How's it end?
Basically a kid becomes a copy cat killer towards the end and Michael kills him for it. The fight between him and Laurie wasn't as good as H20 but it was decent enough to end the story between them. Also they have a parade and throw his body into the wood chipper. Not even making that shit up it actually happened. If you have peacock watch it on there. If not torrent it then. It's definitely better than Kills and Resurrection.

God that sounds stupid.

I don't know how Blumhouse can keep milking the Halloween franchise (as they stated after the 2018 release) if they can't keep relying on Jamie Lee Curtis. Unless they go a new route and make separate films that immediately follows the original (like the Millennium series in the Godzilla franchise). They would basically make a hybrid of anthology films, like how John Carpenter wanted the series to be, but keep Michael Myers as the central antagonist. For example, one film could take place several years after the original with a new group of characters (none related to Laurie) being stalked by a returning Michael with Dr. Loomis back on his trail. Since the flashbacks in Halloween Kills include a cast member that was made to look like Donald Pleasance and with him sounding like the late actor, this seemed to be a way featuring the character without using CGI.

My speculating aside, it is depressing to see what has happened with most of the slasher titans.

Michael Myers: Most likely has gone out with a whimper because of modern horror writing.
Freddy Krueger: The 2010 remake pretty much killed any revitalization of the franchise. Also I don't think any amount of makeup can hide Robert Englund's age while Heather Langenkamp seemingly has no thoughts about portraying Nancy Thompson again.
Jason Voorhees: It seems like the longer the legal disputes go, the further into obscurity the character goes.
Leatherface: Netflix tried to follow the coattails of Halloween '18 but ended up butchering the character more much like the last two Texas Chainsaw Massacre films did.
Pinhead: After years of direct-to-video installments, Hulu seemed to breathe new life into the Hellraiser franchise. But some have pointed out how tame this newest entry was given the source material.
Candyman: Instead of being subtle with its racial undertones, the 2021 sequel decided to beat audiences over the head because of current events. Like Robert Englund and Doug Bradley, Tony Todd is getting older and anyone who tries to fill the role will always be compared to him.

I excluded Chucky since the original film series is still going with the TV show just starting its second season. Also the latest Scream did well with the box office, critics, and audiences that another one was greenlit so Ghostface will still be around.

I think Jason has run his course. I mean what can you do with him after fighting Freddy and being in space? The few fan movies I saw him in did him more justice than anything Hollywood could produce. I kind wanna see that Terrifier 2 movie that just came out. I saw the first one and thought that was a pretty kick ass movie. I hear this one is a lot more brutal than the last one.

Okay. I saw it. I have seen Halloween Ends. I couldn't help myself and saw it with the movie night Discord.

This is the worst film of the entire franchise.

No joke. No exaggeration. The worst one. Everyone owes Rob Zombie an apology. This makes Halloween 5 and 6 (both versions) look like masterpieces. And the funny thing is that the idea is a pretty good idea but NOT for a Halloween movie. It would work better as a stand alone slasher movie without Myers.

A guy accidentally kills a kid while babysitting. He's charged with manslaughter but stays in Haddonfield until one day he stumbles upon a frail Myers and becomes his sidekick.

The final battle with Myers is incredibly weak and makes you appreciate H20. The worst film and I say that without batting an eye. It is Last Jedi or Clerks 3 levels of subversion and/or fuck the audience filmmaking.

Shut your fucking mouth.

It's the best series with over 4 entries as far as horror goes, only has two misfires (8 and X) and the formula is so easy you could make another 10 without fucking it up.

Though considering how every other series has been fucked over when rebooted, the only reason I'd accept the series being put on ice is to avoid a 40 minute flashback telling us how Jason was bullied for being non-binary and that's why he drowned and his trans mother had no choice but to avenge his death from his cis het killers.

God I hope they never do that to Jason. I do agree I’ll take Jason being on ice over what they did to Myers. Honestly I liked X. At least it knew it was a shitty movie.

You're insane.
Of course I am. I have gone slightly mad over what they did to the Shape.

I do gotta agree with you I’ll watch 4-6 any day over this movie.Shit Jason goes to hell has a better plot than this movie.

I missed this post.

Myers will come back. The question is when and how. Are they going to make yet another remake or another reboot that ignores everything?

There were talking of another Elm Street movie based specifically on part 3 Dream Warriors. I could see it happening but with a new Freddy. Heath Langenkamp is a shit actress and I don't want to see her back again.

A new Friday the 13th is slated for next year. They might already be filming. We'll see about that one.

With Pinhead, the new movie wasn't great by any stretch but a TV show is still happening and slated for next year. 2nd time's the charm?

I still haven't seen the new Candyman and I hated the Chucky show from what I've seen.

How did they manage to fuck up Chucky?
