Jeez, it really does look like a PS2 game. The graphics reminded me of Star Ocean: Till the End of Time but upscaled to HD:

And that game came out in Japan in February 2003

I pointed this out too. They've been doing this since Sword and Shield, but only now is it becoming obvious. People seem to really think it's clever for some reason.

Emulator developers always say you need to dump the console's BIOS + games from actual hardware in order to keep everything legal. Nobody does that. You can usually just find everything pirated for download elsewhere, but I'm personally not sure where.

Thanks, I'll try hunting around. I guess I'm just so used to pirating ancient shit that no one cares about the legality so it was just weird to read that.

Not to defend nintendo or gamefreak (because pokemon stopped being good after diamond/pearl/platinum) but the reddit tier name does have some context, "lechon" is one of the many ways you can call a pig/piglet in spanish. Awful reddit name still, but there's that.

I can imagine the general consensus in the Pokemon thread in the games sub-forum.

That's what they did with SwSh and they will do it again.

Legends Arceus did a lot to rebuild some of the good will the Sw/Sh lost too. So this is gonna be interesting to see how the Nintendrones cope.

It will certainly be a wake up call when they can no longer afford half their plastic garbage, but it is very hard to force the hoarding mentality out of someone. They'll resort to collecting literal trash like the worst examples do.

The game still looked like absolute shit. I'm all for good gameplay over graphics, but Pokémon is the MOST profitable franchise on the planet. Imagine if Marvel movies had early 90's CGI, or if Drake's new album was recorded on a $20 chinese gaming headset.

But my childhood!! The heckin charizard!!! Day 1 preorder both games!!!!
