As for what is wrong with Chibi (aside from the obvious autism), I'm partial to the HPD theory. Just look at how many boxes he ticks:
Obviously he does not have good social skills, but that's where the autism comes in; everything else fits like a glove.
Even the attention to appearance, he technially puts effort in (getting his hair dyed troon teal, buying god awful pokemon shirts etc.), he simply lacks even rudimentary fashion sense (again, due to autism) to know these things actually look terrible.

I thought that too, but that one turned out to be a family cat that he left with his mom. This one is the one he adopted after moving out to the condo.
The dislike ratio was abysmal, the day it was uploaded Chibi spent all his time refreshing the replies and responding to every comment that mentioned him or the editing. Some people think that him making an ass of himself (repeatedly) in the guy’s comment section had more to do with the video being pulled than the spastic meme editing.
Iirc Chibi also immediately started suicide baiting on Twitter afterwards so the guy showed him pity and apparently gave Adam another chance.
What credit? Antisocial Personality Disorder is, well, a disorder, not a superpower. People can have it no matter how smart and talented they are. Chibs however can ignore someone's feelings just because he is infantile and autistic.

....More realistically, the only cure for him is to change his fucking attitude and get a work ethic in him, and you just can't force that into people. That has to come from within, and at his late stage it's usually when the reality of his failure to launch hits him. He is a sore loser who desperately wants to be liked by the "cool kids" but can be only liked by other rejects that no one wants to hang around. They all don't give a shit for one another but have no one else so will always act positive and kind to one another to not risk pissing someone off and being alone again.

I think Chibi really wanted to be one of those editors that are a personality along side the person in the video. A lot of video editors (especially ones that edit stream highlights) kind of evolve to be a crucial part of their channel, for their humour or their editing style. Not only did Chibi have very generic editing and awful humour, he was acting like he was 'apart' of the channel from day 1.
This is a pretty important point idiots like Chibi often overlook. While Barry from Game Grumps is usually seen as either the root issue of editors trying too hard to be funny or a strong example of an editor that is as essential to a channel as any of the youtubers on-screen, the fact is that he was pretty tame at the beginning of the channel. You could tell he was good at his job, but his edits were meant to help out with the jokes Jon and Arin were making, not to hog the spotlight for himself. It would take months, along with Danny joining and the overall style of the show changing, before things would devolve into "HAHA BARRY PUT FIVE WOLFJOBS ON SCREEN", but this is all people remember him for nowadays.
With this on the other hand I can't agree. I feel like Chibi is already at a skill level where he can be a competent editor for most channels, the real problem is his obnoxious attitude. Adam has shown time and again that he's literally incapable of toning down his 'tism or learning how to improve from his mistakes, two things he'd definitely need for this sort of role. If another youtuber offered him a second chance I feel like he'd do the exact same type of video and hope that this time the fans will like it the evil trolls won't bully him.
