To expound upon that a bit there's this weird fucking bit of cognitive dissonance that urbanite liberals have that they, despite being the wealthy city elites, are the proletariat and the working class cis white heteronormtive scum I.E. Truckers are the bourgeois. It's so transparent and blatantly false that even THEY know it's a crock of shit but cognitive dissonance is one hell of a drug if you're trained in its usage.

So they won't go near that line of reasoning because it gets too close to grazing and potentially crashing down their own internal walls of delusion.

You're a Jew or you're not. It's easy to determine where to fall in that political spectrum. For this? Who knows what will happen. To think the government aligns with your interests in the first place is foolish, but to think they won't also genocide you first chance they get is doubly so.

I have trouble understanding how one can be so obtuse to think it makes any sense to call for these sorts of things. They didn't want police, but now they want the police to squish the truckers for no legal or apparent good reason other than "I'm choosing to take this personally". Now you hope all those truckers get stuck and die without help. Where does that leave precedence when you're stuck in a natural disaster??

Yeah, that was bound to happen. Closing down the super-slab for any length of time is never something that is tolerated anywhere. It's the third-rail of protesting. City streets and secondary highways are one thing. But closing down the major arteries never lasts for very long. I'm sure the level-headed among them knew that and planned on using it to force concessions on keeping the protest there.

Hate to say it but they brought it on themselves and I'm not as sympathetic to them as I was. Don't break your word. That was handled poorly on their end by their leadership. It shows that they aren't really in control and members of the group aren't being rational. They want to force a confrontation and did it in a really underhanded way.

They could have kept the protest going if they had just negotiated in good faith and didn't go back on their word with the agreement to open up a lane to traffic. The guys that bugged out were probably correct on this one as they saw where it was headed.
