Where I'm from, homeless in the winter either migrate to warmer areas until spring, get themselves jailed to get out of the cold, or else freeze to death in a parking lot somewhere.

Is it different in Ottawa? Are there a lot of homeless out and about in this weather?

I haven't been to Ottawa for a long time but when I was there I rarely if ever saw a homeless person. Maybe the odd panhandler at Rideau Centre but otherwise it wasn't Vancouver or Victoria levels of squalid human misery.

So far the protests don't seem to be going anywhere and I don't think they're as small as you guys claim because if that were the case it would have ended by now.

This is my kind of protest because unlike quick shots like Jan 6 where it's a day and then over, the unrelenting honking, travel break down, and supply chain constraints will only marinate as time goes on and seething soy filled leftists will shortly begin to leave reddit and come outside in full view of cameras with their entitled childish wailing.

There are grates downtown (right where the convoy is) that give off warm air. They build little ramshackle huts around them and camp there during the winter. It's also a 10 to 15min walk from there to the homeless shelter so that's also an option.

Quebec Premier François Legault says his government will not go ahead with a proposed tax on the unvaccinated, in order to protect "social cohesion" in the province.

Legault made the announcement at a news conference Tuesday, where he also eased some restrictions on gyms and sports activities.

The tax, which was announced in January by the premier, would have imposed a monetary penalty on Quebecers who did not get their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

While Legault now says the government will not go ahead, after seeing "growing discontent" in the population.

"I understand that this divides Quebecers and right now we have to build bridges," said Legault. "My role is to try to bring Quebecers together to stay united as a people."

I'm almost certain it was a fabricated virtue signal. They run a warming center. All the protestors out there might want a place to get warm. Better send out a clear signal that their benches and coffee and restrooms aren't for wrongthinkers. They know where their funding comes from.
