I guess I don't think they care, but the cognitive dissonance is ripping me apart. Like yeah, commies took over and genocided their respective nations, but I can't recall any point in history where everyone was like "Yeah let's kill people" aside from Nazi Germany. It was largely the oligarchic leadership in other scenarios that committed themselves to killing specific groups. I can't imagine everyone under Stalin was alright with famine, nor would everyone under Pol Pot in Cambodia have approved of selectively murdering the intelligent population. Wishing others will die in these scenarios is a perfect reflection of what will happen to the ones doing the wishing when they need help. In Nazi Germany, it was black and white. You're a Jew or you're not. It's easy to determine where to fall in that political spectrum. For this? Who knows what will happen. To think the government aligns with your interests in the first place is foolish, but to think they won't also genocide you first chance they get is doubly so.

I have trouble understanding how one can be so obtuse to think it makes any sense to call for these sorts of things. They didn't want police, but now they want the police to squish the truckers for no legal or apparent good reason other than "I'm choosing to take this personally". Now you hope all those truckers get stuck and die without help. Where does that leave precedence when you're stuck in a natural disaster??

I'm yelling at clouds at this point, I know, but I live in Chinada and 98% of the people around me align with the mandates and rulings. I can't even have this opinion irl because it starts a slapfight.

If you watch the livestreams, you'd see that a huge contingent of the protesters are from Quebec. Maybe somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2. Quebec has been subject to easily the worst restrictions in the country by the provincial government, with stuff like nightly curfews that clearly have absolutely nothing to do with Muh Public Health, and Ottawa is right on the Quebec border so it's very easy for Quebeckers to show up

This is something I've long found interesting about the libshit mindset. Many traditional moral systems (mainly religions) would say that ignorance and immorality are mutually exclusive; that one must have knowledge of morality and knowledge that one is acting immorally in order for one's actions to be immoral. Beyond mere knowledge, to take it to something with which almost everyone would be familiar, intent must be proven for someone to be convicted of most crimes--mens rea. It's fundamental to the story of the Garden of Eden: before eating the forbidden fruit, they do not have knowledge of good and evil and so they cannot sin. It's a childlike innocence, and St. Augustine argues as much in Confessions; that each person's life contains a microcosmic Fall of Man just like the Garden, and each person eats of the tree of knowledge of good and evil in their childhood/adolescence. A child cannot sin, and neither can an animal or the severely retarded.

And yet libshits are so obsessed with condemning people for being purportedly stupid and/or ignorant, and flagging them as immoral precisely because they are purportedly stupid and/or ignorant. And on another level, what the fuck is this person talking about in terms of "immoral people," anyway? In general, a Christian perspective would be that people commit immoral acts, for which one should atone, but that everyone is a sinner and that's just part of the human condition. I know that they're using coded language when they attack someone for being ignorant/stupid, and they're really decrying lack of adherence to libtard orthodoxy, or in other words they are condemning heresy/heathenism from the standpoint of libtard theology, but what is the basis of their worldview? Is it some kind of gnostic/dualist thing where some people are fundamentally moral/good and others are fundamentally immoral/evil? Shit's fucked.

I also can't believe this. Were they caught off-guard by the demoralization disinfo that it was only going to be like 10 trucks? I don't know much about Ottawa, but Montreal has a big Antifa scene and it would be very easy for them to show up nearby in Ottawa if they wanted to. Are they scared? Is someone telling them to stand down?

O'Toole is very likely getting the boot, and Leslyn Lewis is a possible contender for next leader, given that she ran against O'Toole and failed last time. Cynically, the fact that she's only showing her face in support of the truckers now makes me think she's just doing it as a political gambit. But either way, I guess it's probably best not to have parliament unanimously condemning and cracking down on the demonstrators. The CBC loves to come right out and condemn the Everyman protester as an EVIL NAZI, but it's harder to get away with that when slandering a sitting member of parliament, and especially one of CBC's beloved Black Women of Colour. So it may help get the truth out to gullible television-watching boomers.

If this was about politics I would agree with your assessments. But covid is a secular religion so the normal rules do not apply. If the protests continue and grow I think this will blow up well beyond anyone's imagination and could realistically lead to the end of the current Canadian government. Here's hoping.
