I'm not even trying to sound like a jaded boomer when I say we've come a long way if people are complaining about Dread's difficulty. I consider myself to be of below average skill when it comes to action and shooter games (which Dread basically is) and haven't found it particularly challenging. Boss and E.M.M.I. fights are 99% pattern recognition and the checkpoints are extremely forgiving. Don't think I've been stuck on a boss for more than 10 minutes and I'm pretty far into the game.
That's pretty dope, actually. Seems like most people want an interactive movie when it comes to most video games, which sucks because you don't need to dumb down something in order for said thing to become accessible for the public.

Haven't gotten Dread yet (it'll be a minute before I get my hands on anything remotely "modern" Metroid) and I've been cautious on getting too deep into spoiler territory.

Nintendofags are absolutely seething at people emulating the new Metroid game. Here's a screencap I got from a /v/ thread.

If you want to pirate games just admit you want to pirate games. I really don't care.

All the bitch-tier rationalizing about "game preservation" rubs me the wrong way. Unless you take Roms and actually archive them in a reasonable way, you are just coping. I bet less than .1% of people that download roms actually do that.

DAILY DEBATE: DOES BREATH OF THE WILD STILL HOLD UP?

BotW 2 is in serious trouble if Zelda fans are already asking this question.
BotW was always massively overrated. The shoehorned crafting and weapon durability mechanics killed the entire game for me. The exploration, world design, and atmosphere are all great, but I couldn't make it past about ten hours before giving up due to the tedium.

I can see why. The stamina meter will always be the (literal) death of me, sadly.

>dread already outsold all the snoygames in 2021 and is one of amazons top 50 sellers of 2021 despite metroid never selling well
Oh no no no no no, this cannot be happening!

Yeah roms sites are usually a fucking mess and often contain the same broken ass shit that you could find in the early 90's. They're not cleaned out and sorted which makes people actually getting proper shit a pain in the ass because they'll provide 7 different versions of the same game without any real documentation on differences and build version.

If roms and piracy were a form of preservation they'd be organized like a library.

Copying shit for free has been a practice that existed since well before the NES, a few old systems had games that could be copied on a tape deck because their read data from an actual cassette.

You mean the cooking thingy? And out of all the Zelda games, this one has the least enemy variety all the while managing to have the worst dungeons in the series (Shrines included and ESPECIALLY THEM). It's a fucking joke of a game and its unique novelty comes from the expansive open Hyrule, when that's gone too there's no backbone left for the game to stand up on its own.

You forgot the 900 korok seeds as a means of justifying the open world and having a ton of copied and pasted locations, there's like 25 burned out houses of the same type that are unique landmarks.

Xenoblade 2 did the whole open world thing better by leaps and bounds.

Hot take: Dread is pretty disappointing. It looks and plays like a generic xbox live indie game. I'd rather play Hollow Knight or Bloodstained.
The E.M.M.I. is by far the worst part. I hate stealth so it might just be me, but it's obnoxious. Nintendo's need to add gimmicks into every new game in a franchise never pans out imo. I do like the bosses though. They're the highlight of the game. Just wish I didn't have to play grabass with Glados to get to them.
I would have dropped it already if it wasn't called Metroid.

Well, I seen people who are complaining about how you're railroaded towards the next objective and that there's hardly any point in backtracking.

So there won't be any crossplay for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.

The one thing I hope they fix is implementing the scaling that World had for quests so you're not beating something to death that's intended for four people and especially when they give you a short timer.

So, it would appear that Nintendo didn't really try to shift things around a bit with the OLED. If you can get your hands on one of those rare modchips, they're completely pin compatible.
Be careful with this, some homebrew (Atmosphere) hasn't been updated yet so it has potential to initiate the battery incorrectly. Still awesome to see it running already though.

RE BotW: I really liked the game, put over 300 hours into it. I've heard all of the criticisms of the game, like the weapons breaking, no actual progression in the game (you can straight up just walk into the Ganon fight straight out of the start), reliance on cooking, and the relatively empty world. I even agree with a lot of them and hope BotW 2 fixes them, but I still had a ton of fun with the game and it stands as one of the few LoZ games I've actually finished besides Wind Waker HD and OoT 3D.

Also port the Gamecube HD games and the 3DS port of OoT and Majora's Mask already. I'd pay $60 for either 2-pack of those.
