I think that the people who care about it for reasons outside of a genuine historical interest are weirdos, but as long as they aren't going out and lynching people or breaking any other laws, they have a first amendment right to fly the flag. However, I also have a first amendment right to make fun of them for flying a loser flag.
We can say the same about people flying the Palestinian flag too, right?

I don't know too much about the Southern aspect of the US to have an opinion on the flag. Maybe this clown would give a proper explanation.
According to one of the comments on the video, apparently people were fighting with him about it on Twitter(X)

Well, since this guy has entered into my radar thanks to my investigation on Kaden Antolos. I've been preparing a thread for him for a while. You'll find out soon enough.

The response to your deductions is... He's an asshole with an inflated ego and is pedantic as fuck. And probably a tranny chaser.

(I say this as someone with no ties to the CSA or civil war era USA)

I like it quite a lot, both symbolically and aesthetically. It's a symbol of defiance at its core, and I think that's a big reason as to why it makes a lot of people seethe at it. While it looks very nice, it makes a better military flag than civil/state one. The stars and bars is much better suited to that role.

Blood of Christ and all that.

I don't really like it aesthetically. That said, fuck the union, the South's gonna rise again! I view it as representing the South. People who are mad about it or the war memorials just want to eradicate Southern culture. It is also increasingly obvious that if anything, the South was too nice to niggers and Northern faggotry about muh equal rights has massively backfired on America as a whole.

I think it's a very nice flag, just a shame a bunch of embarrassing yankee racists adopted it.

Would prefer not to associate with people that fly it, as past experience tells me that most who do are white trash. However, nothing about it offends me, and people that are offended by it need to get a fucking grip.

i find the people who sperg out about their hatred for the confederate flag way more annoying than anyone who actually uses the confederate flag. also as a northerner i have come to realize that the confederate flag has way more meaning to it than just the confederacy.

the south in general was fucked over a fair amount back in the day and a similar thing is happening now but not just in the south. so i feel like in many cases the flags original meaning is different now than it was back then.

now i think its more of a symbol some people choose to represent the people they feel are being overlooked and fucked over by the higher ups in the world.

its also just a part of history and believe all history deserves to be preserved and understood. we like to talk about the confederacy as just a bunch of people who wanted slaves really really badly. but it went far far deeper than that and the fact that most people think the civil war was entirely about slaves despite many people in the north also having slaves themselves really says a lot.

I associate it with the General Lee, and the General Lee was the coolest car ever captured on film.

while the general lee is a cool car it is not the coolest car ever to grace the screen.

the blues mobile comes to mind. it outran not just the Boss Hogg stand-in in his standard patrol car but also what I'm assuming to be the entire fleet of the Chicago PD, The Good Ole Boys, and Illinois Nazis. ugh I hate illinois nazis...

Also a Ford and just slightly cooler the Pursuit Special, which as iconic as it is barely gets the screen time it deserves. It had to be rescued from a dump for the second movie iirc.

if you're looking for retrofuturetech look no further than the delorean. bitchin thing flies and travels through time.

Not content with just a car? Look no further than the Bandit and his Pontiac Trans Am, with matching big rig.

This isn't to take away from the General Lee but there are plenty of cars that hit just as high if not higher on the cool scale. What the general lee does have is two good ole boys and their fine sister riding in the backseat, and depending on what your preferences are it definitely might up the cool factor.

The Bandit Trans Am has a Confederate license plate in the movie.

Well if I’m going to be white trash, might as well look good doing it.

fun fact his is not the offical flag used by the south but it pisses people off and looks cool so use it
