Seriously, who does he think we're supposed to give reparations even to? Just every black person in America? Are we supposed to track, and each, and every person's lineage back to the Colonial Era to see if they were slaves, and give their descendants (if any) the money?

Shit, what about the other people that were enslaved like the Native Americans, and Irish? I'm not even trying to be a smart-ass /pol/tard about this either. What about them? Do they get reparations too? Do we need to follow all their family trees as well? Do the Natives get more because they were actually systematically genocided, and still deal with a fuckton of shit today? What about the Irish who had to flee because of the Potato Famine? Does that somehow effect things? If so, does the UK get involved then?

Who's even supposed to pay for all this? The government? The taxpayers? How much does each person get? Is it based by how many of their ancestors were slaves? What if it turns out that they have both slave, and slave-holder ancestry? What happens then? Are they just ineligible for the money, or do they only get half, or whatever? How does he expect this to actually work?

Hell, I'm not even against the idea of reparations in general if there were still people around today who suffered through what happened, but considering slavery ended nearly two centuries ago, those people are long gone. Trying to do it today would just unleash a blackhole of questions that frankly our country can't deal with right now, and in the end, wouldn't really fix anything if it even could.

The potatocaust is another historical event that needs looking into. If the Irish were starved, why are there still so many of them? Also, did they deserve it? There needs to be new research done I'm sure.

Compared to, say, the Cultural Revolution which is just depressing all around so it's not like you'll see the history channel do a deep dive on that.

Other former colonial occupied nations have jumped on the bandwagon, and it’s so utterly retarded that it boggles the mind. Libya was colonized by Italy and England in rapid succession, many, like myself, are products of said colonization. Unlike the US it was only a generation ago. Now, if we expect those countries to pay Libya reparations, how the fresh fuck is that going to work? Do I pay myself? What if those countries actually did some good in their colonization, like building critical infrastructure? Thankfully nobody gave two shits and just said ‘hey, can you guys peacefully fuck off?’, and no one ever complained again. It’s such a pathetic way to view yourself as an eternal victim. Grow up nigga, you’re responsible for your own actions in life.
