I love corporate suit retards.

"DURRRRRUHHHH SHOULD I BUY... this BG3 nerd game... or the HIP AND EXTREME Redfall lol! I'm good with money!" *Somehow still fails upwards despite being mentally handicapped.

Calling BG3, a second-run Stadia PC RPG, is honestly the most laughable take I have ever heard from a gaming company. the only saving grace was this wasn't meant to be made public.
Microsoft Dipshit: "Hmmm~ You know, we have two choices, Bob. We can get the rights to this PERSONA series made by twinks in Asia or something... or we could pick up a console version of Diablo immortal."
Microsoft Dipshit 2: "Diablo. Also, make sure to bully them into adding more black trannys in it and calling it the ENCHANCED version. Mabe add a class like Amazon but make her a black tranny with a huge wiener."

Real talk, how the fuck are they going to remaster Fallout 3? Made custom HD textures? Modders have been doing this for the past decade for FREE.... Transplant the entire game onto F4 engine? Lol, fuck no, that would require some effort, which is why i'm pretty positive there is already a modding group, working on this project as we speak
They gave the leading modder devs for the F3 in F4 mod jobs at BGS. Both to work on their own remaster and in an effort to stall/kill the community remake.

This just proves that most of these CEO's are well-connected retards who have no goddamn idea how to run a business. In fact, they are retards getting bailed out by either their connections or daddy government because of their utterly shitty business decisions. They really seem to think that buying companies will suddenly keep them above water, not realizing that these companies are on sale for a reason.

I bet Gaben is laughing his ass off at Phil's proposal to buy Valve while bathing in oceans of cash.

Thanks for reminding me the nightmare that was changing the batteries on my dualshock 3, really looking forward to when the same shit happens on my ps4 controllers, god damn it. I wish I were a retard who just dumps defective joycons in the trash while continuing to buy defective wiggling rail-stumps for fucking $90.

As for keeping up with PC hardware "I'm tired boss..." which is why I'm seriously looking into a PS5 and VR2 rig, which would run about what I would want to spend on PC parts
Spend that money on a PC and it'll probably play PS6 games passably. Buy a PS5 and you're gonna re-spend that money in five years.

They scoop shit up the way they do so they can go to the investors with a portfolio of literally every IP imaginable.
"They own everything, they'll make money eventually"
It seems to me like they bought all these game studios/companies and just assumed that would get the cash rolling, without realizing that those studious still have to continue to make games and other products in order for any money to be made. That’s like buying a flock of chickens so you can make profit on their eggs, without realizing you have to feed them in order for them to actually lay eggs.

Is anyone else getting the feeling that the center "button" is possibly going to be one of those fingerprint readers similar to the ones some people use to quickly unlock their smartphones? They're saying "play anywhere" with a paid online service, and I'm getting this nagging feeling that they're going there. Don't forget to send in a sample of your DNA in order to activate the warranty.

Phill Spenser always comes across as one of the most unlikeable and fakest CEOs in the industry.
At least Major Nelson had that autism charm.

No, Microsoft has always been a scummy corporate piece of shit company from the very beginning and I really can't understand why anyone thinks they've ever been anything but that
Because MS and Bill Gates were very different in the 90s to early 00s as a lolbert-driven entity, and that pissed congress off to the point they started auditing and summoning them for hearings, where they told Bill he had no lawyers in DC or offices close to DC. They flat out told them he had to bribe congress and invest in red tape bullshit if he wanted this to stop. He complied and became corrupted in a few short years.

Microsoft spectacularly fucking up and releasing a ton of future project info in this manner puts their carelessness into perspective. I now understand how they recently managed to fuck up again by leaking 38 TB of private company and employee data.

Fuckups are part of the company culture.

To the guy at the beginning of the thread, that acknowledged the "offline utility" of the xbox one and series x for having blue ray disc drives that could play movies offline. Well, you're wrong. The disc drive can't even read blue ray movies without downloading the shitty Microsoft player from the store. Even then, it doesn't work and even the app has an overall 1 star in reviews.

>I feel like Xbox really knows me, giving me tons of options, ways to customize and personalized suggestions

Said literally no actual person ever in regards to spyware fueled ai suggestion algorithms

Not only that, "suggestions" and ads that will greet you every time you turn on the console and be shoved in your face. The last xbox 360 dashboard up to today's OS have been guilty of not even allowing you to block the ads offline, let alone move the ads to another section of the dash. They're always front and center.

I only buy digital when it's unavoidable.

i'm basically autistic and grew up with physical, what money and physical space I spend on shiny circles and little rectangles covered in shit to stop children from licking them is my concern.
I can't buy a game on a disc for PC nowadays unless its not connected to Steam, since most discs tell Steam you've got a license.
People are right that PC gamers were introduced to digital early and it took gaming by storm. I can live with that, on PC, but not console.
You can't replace the feeling someone gets when you hand them Spyro on disc. Even if it'll need a day one update. I'll just load that asap, that's just a consequence of modern gaming.

It'll take lots to convince me to buy next gen without a disc drive. I'd mostly be worried for friends who are hapless around Steam and PC gaming and seem like they'd kill themselves if they couldn't hold Halo 7 in their hands.

But fuck streaming. I refuse, hell I'll draw the fucking line in the sand for you with my own dick.
You cut out the disc drive but give me good exclusives, I'll grumble and bend over. You cut out the storage and turn the next Xnog into a glorified television with a white X and charge me monthly to stream Ghostwire 2, I walk. Into my bedroom, to play Sven Coop on my physical computer that I can TOUCH.

I'm going to go on an autistic tangent here, and it may have been said a few times here, but there's no way valve would ever, ever sell out to Microsoft.

Let's remember some key facts about Valve and Microsoft's relationship:

1. Valve started BECAUSE of Microsoft. Gabe was working there 13 years with Windows, made a fuckload of money and wanted to do something new, so he started a video game business since at the time the most amount of game work you were going to do at MS was the Windows 95 DOOM port. Gabe was a part of the company when MS's secret motto was "Embrace, extend, and extinguish", he likely saw first hand how ruthless MS was in the 90s and wanted to create a different kind of culture.

2. When Valve released the Orange Box, they really only cared about the 360 and Windows version, PlayStation 3 shit was handed over to EA since Gabe had a hatred over the PS3. But when TF2 updates started becoming jampacked with content for PC players and Valve wanted to extend that over to Xbox, Microsoft told them they needed to PAY THEM to release the fucking updates, how much you ask? $40,000 for an update to the 360 during its lifespan (the only source I can find for this is from the TF2 wiki). Compared with Steam (O&O from Valve yes) that charges $0 to update your game, it was not feasible to push out updates at the frequency valve was doing for the PC. The 4 updates they released to the 360 cost Valve around $160,000. Had they of released the 772 updates that came to PC (noting that some of these updates were after the discontinuation of the 360) it would have cost valve around $11,080,000. That is fucking ludicrous. I'm unsure if MS still charges for updates, but even still, that is an insane figure to of dished out just to provide what was otherwise free patches to the console players. Semi-related, PS3 only got 1 update lmao :story:

3. The biggest argument I can supply has to be Windows 8. Gabe, to put it nicely, wasn't too impressed by Windows 8 saying "I think Windows 8 is a catastrophe for everyone in the PC space." This is when Valve started seriously thinking about the future of PC gaming and realized Windows wasn't going to be an appropriate OS anymore. In comes SteamOS and Steam Machines, the latter failed pretty badly for valve, but SteamOS was ultimately what rose through the ashes and become the priority that lead to the invention of the Steam Deck. While his statements were 10ish years ago, they still hold true. You can rightfully assume that both 10 and 11 did nothing to calm valve's nerves since, well, the steam deck doesn't have a windows option (unless you install it yourself).

And I'm sure there are more reasons as well, but my autism can only do so much. I am absolutely sure that Gabe and anyone else who will take the "boss" title will never succumb to MS, even if valve is a few days off from bankruptcy. MS has never changed since the antitrust suit in the 90s, hell one of the biggest travesties was the appeals court overruling the initial decision. MS has always been hellbent on becoming a monopoly, I'm sure MS got laughed at when they discussed this, just like they got laughed at in Japan when they knocked on Nintendo's door.

TL;DR never, ever fucking happening

about them underestimating baldurs gate 3: if any of you little zoomers out there can deal with the antiquated look and feel of baldurs gate 1 and 2 you will enjoy an outstanding story with interesting and memorable characters. 3 is an excellent game and the only game that has come out in recent years that i have actually paid for aside from rimworld but i would still place it lower than 1 and 2. nothing will match the adventure of 1 and the epicness of 2/expansion.
