I see the logic in that decision. Games that handle morality in a binary way can be limiting to the player. However, they'd need to handle those complex moral choices to respect the players' intuitions and their own sandbox. I'm not holding my breath, just wait and see.
That could be solved. Decisions making you popular with some people and unpopular with others. BG3 had that. Kick a kitten and no one is impressed. Kill a powerful foe and some people are impressed, others fear you, some try to recruit you and some want revenge. You know, a reputation system. We had that before. What? Are new consoles so inferior to the old ones?

BG3 only has reputation for one fucking thing and that's the baldur's mouth shit and it's inconsequential if you don't take a long rest, you can start the final act before your reputation stuff tied to stop the presses quest can be worked on.
meanwhile fable 1 had niggers cower in fear once you got the horns or cheered once you got the pearly white skin... now in fable 4? dunno, let's wait and see, then laugh because it's probably something very retarded.

The point stands. I used a recent example. Infamous, Mass Effect and yes, Fable had it. It has been everywhere. Just have some groups like some acts and hate others. It has been done before. My guess? The soys that MS hired cannot program reputation.

That explains why Forza horizons are such shit games.

All of this dei shit is irrelevant if they hire competent people that fit their dei criteria. A dyke that can actually code is better than a normal person who can't.

Forza H games are fun and replayable and made competently.

This could be like avalanche software or cdpr where a venture into a new genre could actually be worth it.


Combat in fable looks competent. Adventuring looks competent. Open world seems competent (we'll know within an hour if it's like a bathesda game where nothing happens for your one hour trek, or like a rockstar game where there's shit happens within your one hour trek).

This isn't a new studio. It isn't a shit studio.

I really don't want to run defense for dei, but it does seem that dei bullshit isn't really affecting their studio. They tick the necessary boxes and still deliver a competent game.

In autumn we'll know how bad the game really is, but from what I've seen gameplay wise it looks good.

every AAA game from microsoft will have barely any actual gameplay at all. I 100% outerworlds 2 (autism) and it felt like a shareware version of a real video game, i suspect the same thing with the new fable, they're highlighting these "gimmicks" like the mockumentary cam and "different moralities of the NPCs" but none of it will really matter if only a handful of decisions matter to them at most. the original oblivion or fable had more gameplay and fun and will be a better experience than this new fable, i guarantee it.

if you listen to dev podcasts, its all but admitted microsoft is all about churning shit out cheap and quickly, you're going to be surprised but i bet this is actually a very accurate trailer of the game, its just that microsoft games now are like fondant, it 'looks pretty' but isn't good at all.

even with all this shit in the game it will all feel way more shallow compared to the game series from 20 years ago.

I'd say Moss from IT Crowd maybe has 30 minutes at most of dialogue, less than Liam Nesson in fallout 3
 
The no devil's horns stuff also means we might not be getting any player morphs at all, i doubt putting all points into strength will turn you into a muscle monster anymore.

what they have shown so far is the relationship score but the real alignment that existed in previous games seem to be gone, else they would not be saying that shit and seem to think the shitty npc relationship will carry the game hence the cope about muh morality or that they didn't bother telling singh to make the models/effects for the alignment system and are doubling down because they know they will golden parachute anyway, worst thing that can happen is gearbox absorbs them, they have more than enough hroofs to know trying to be petty to video game players just doesn't fucking work and that's not even counting kultur war grifting covering the issue if it turns into a shiny toy for them to cover.
 
At some point you have to understand that a new game from a series or developer you loved a long time ago is just not going be worth bothering with.
Especially if it's a Western developer, although some of the Japanese developers have been slipping here and there.
 
Forza Horizon went from a love letter to car culture to Fortnite on wheels. Whilst 5 still played well, the presentation was insufferable, with every NPC sounding like they're on crack and constantly telling you how brilliant you are (and inserting random words in Spanish, in a way no-one actually does in real life). Also just throws money and cars at you right from the start so there's no sense of progression, the whole thing feels like a participation trophy.

It's more than just here and there, Square Enix has not been able to make a halfway competent mainline Final Fantasy game since 2006, and even the spinoffs&remakes have been junk post Type-0's release in 2011.

Modern day gaymers are too big a faggots to accept cosmetic changes to their characters that they can't really control. It would probably trigger a bunch of trannies as well.

I doubt they think that the NPC relationships will carry the game. They probably think "The Message" and the shitty gameplay will carry it or at least hope it will. I do not think they have confidence in their character designs or their relationship character quests to be a draw. Not after Veilguard and Avowed.
