Even if Bethesda could bring back the magic and make Elder Scrolls VI into Skyrim 2 would it be enough?
Here's an open secret, skyrim sucks ass, always has been, the reason it has been so successful over the years was because of the ludricolous amount of pubblicity and hype before release, being the perfect platform for a billion mods and finally the easy accessibilty trough thousands of ports.
Literal slop for normies who doesn't know any better, ES fans hates it because it removes too many features from Oblivion,

The magic behind skyrim is to make a game that's impressive in term of size (but utterly shallow) so that dudebros finds it accessible and impressive, decent looking and part of some sort of successful legacy franchise so that good word of mouth can lay off the bases, then all it takes is to invest half the game budget in promotion stunts, that's how the greatest best seller came to be. Also, be sure to make mod tools for it, so that the few real fans that you actually need will fix it for you. This worked for both fallout 4 and skyrim.
My theory is that TESVI is the usual garbage and they're not sharing anything because it is embarrassing at this point.
Following the description of the process, I have a different theory:
The great liar todd howard is pissing and shitting himself after the damage starefield has done to his fanbase, the whole process I had listed above didn't turned his dream game into a best seller, so now he is waiting for opportunities to redeem his own legacy before he can feel safe with announcing tes6.
It bears repeating that I'm typing this shit at 2 am so I may be wrong and gay, in that case, feel free to prove it, but tbh its the best moment to unveil the videogame equivalent of cowdung to his boss, considering that she's a poojeeta.

>The companies I grew up with kids are going bust, therefore industry must be dying
People like this are so retarded. What's happening is that industry leaders are shifting, some of the older companies that dominated the 6th/7th gen are dying and new companies that were formally secondary players are taking their places as industry leaders like From soft. It's not even the first time this has happened. When 3d era of gaming started with the 5th gen, the companies that dominated the arcade/2d era of gaming failed because they couldn't adapt their game design to the 3d era of gaming. The industry didn't die because Hudson-soft and Tehcnosoft went bankrupt all that happened was that Microsoft and Rockstar took their places and the industry changed.

I spent a ton of time with Oblivion, hundreds of hours, and I still really enjoyed Skyrim. I play it vanilla, on PC I don't even bother with the upgrade released ~10 years ago just the original 2011 release maybe with a mod to make alchemy ingredients weigh less if I'm feeling adventurous.

It does streamline some things vs Oblivion but it's mostly better for it. The game has a ton of really cool set pieces, quests, interesting plotlines, and it's just fun to explore. It's fun to break it via smithing & enchantments, and fun to not do that and intentionally introduce extra challenge.

I've put hundreds of hours into both Oblivion and Skyrim, they're both extremely good games.

And somehow Bethesda just forgot how to make good games since then.

It's hilarious. Oldfags hate Oblivion because they dumbed down the gameplay from Morrowind. Time goes on and the past dies.
Those people were always fags.

People like this are grifters, they don't believe in what they say, they only need to say what you want to hear, and ensure what they say is believable enough so that you engage with their content and give them clout and ads money.
Technically speaking, they aren't any worse than a kotaku journalists, they simply pick a side that is on the opposite side of the political spectrum and have better written scripts. Don't trust these people, even and especially if you agree with what they say.

I'll be honest, I've spent hours on skyrim, I even remember liking but ever since playing Dark Souls, New Vegas and re-playing Oblivion after, I have grown to hate it.
When I tried to play skyrim again, I really disliked the whole experience: the combat system is simply bad, I won't say Oblivion and NV are better, but one offered a great selection of spells, the other had good rifles and dialogue options, what Skyrim has hundreds of draugr-infested dungeons and dragons, which I find to be miserable to fight. Most quests also felt uninspried, and the dialogue/story was just piss.
Maybe I'm just too bitter toward it.

Maybe you're just misremembering it? The last time I sat down to play it in depth I decided to do the main quest until I got shouts so that if I ran into a dragonwall I'd be able to use it, did a bunch of quests around Whiterun, then did the quest where you go to the Thalmor embassy and decided to genocide the Thalmor, did most of the thieves guild questline then pivoted to the mages in Winterhold, and did whatever oddball quests or cave along the way that looked interesting. There were minimal drauger along the way. Favorite random dungeon I ran into was Ilinalta's Deep which was partially submerged and had some really cool water effects.

If you play in such a way that you're doing every quest/cave you run into I could see a lot of really miserable samey quest times.

People like this are so retarded.
You have no idea. That retard pretends he runs a successful business so he thinks that gives him enough insight into how to run a mega corporation like Microsoft.
Disliking them doesn't mean you have any idea how to run the internal slop that these companies likely are.

Game Pass Ultimate at $22.99, I can kind of live with.
Game Pass PC at $13.99 is actually not a bad deal.

Don't really mind CoD not being apart of Game Pass, and that's likely one of the changes I can live with, since I don't play CoD much anymore. Honestly, the Game Pass PC price is looking more and more viable for me, considering I game on my PC more.

Boy you're a good little consumer aren't 'ya? Would you like to share any other insightful purchasing recommendations from your marketing colleagues, newfriend?
Sure. If you spend more than $10 ($20 max) on digital copies of games you're a fuckwit with poor impulse control.

Yeah I know 'subs bad' or whatever but I do use the cloud gaming function a lot when I'm away from home. Which is a lot since I work.
