Crimson Skies sold really well - I actually think the one thing holding up any sequel is there may be a rights issue. Specifically if Microsoft, the tabletop game, or the original creator owns the Crimson Skies IP.

Shame... amazing setting for a series.
Snoopy's Flying Ace. Oh right, rights with Schultz.

I was under the impression Microsoft bought Fasa outright, including Crimson Skies.

If it sold well then why the flying fuck didn't it get a sequel?

Nope. Not only is FASA still its own entity, the original creator, Jordan Weisman, got the rights back in 2007, along with the rights to Shadow Run and Battle Tech, which is why those haven't gotten more games from them either.

Weisman tried to launch his own video game studio... and thats the last we heard of Crimson Skies. I wager there is a rights issue between him, FASA and Microsoft to boot.

I am sure Microsoft would love to make a sequel - Crimson Skies High Road to Revenge was literally the first Xbox game they made backward compatible and they still kept the online servers active. Plus, not like there are a ton of other vehicular combat or arial comvat games anymore, it would be unique at this point.

Didn't own a Xbox product until late 2009, bought an Xbox 360 as an X-mas gift to myself.

If there's a rights issue, how was the original Crimson Skies made BC for Xbox One?

Some sort of rights dispute would make sense.

I just really hope something is worked out and we some sort of new Crimson Skies game one day, what a great ip it is.

Maybe they own the rights to the actual game, but not the ip itself?

Weissman doesn't own the rights to Shadowrun games, he licensed the rights from Microsoft, hence why the Shadowrun returns trilogy never got ports to consoles.

The Xbox One and PS4 had a great feature that I'll always love them for. The web browser and it's video player. You could hit up a bootleg movie website and say fuck Netflix or you could watch a new Game of Thrones episode the day it came out and say fuck HBO. Discontinued on the PS5 I've heard.

Wtf Bill Gates where is my Blinx the cat sequel announcement you coward!

I didn't buy a PS3 until like 2012 when Sony finally lowered the price down to a more reasonable $250 (which was still $50 overpriced by that point) so all the good stuff I had missed out on PS3 was already out and pretty cheap.

If not for SEGA, Microsoft probably will never make a console in the first place.
That's why many SEGA games are on Xbox in that time, and remember one of the add-ons for Dreamcast (Windows CE) is from Microsoft.

Legit got an XBox for Shenmue II because I am a weeb faggot.

Legit one of my favorite consoles ever and I still marvel at how badass the hard drive was for how much save data and music it could store.

Segas involvement with the original Xbox was weird. Sega helped with designing the controller (hence why it looked like a dreamcast controller with an extra stick), the OS, was working on having Dreamcast Backcompat worked in, and was actually asking MS to buy them but MS wasn't interested (possibly due to them at that time being close to buying Square). Yukio Futatsugi, the creator of Panzer Dragoon was a big proponent of Xbox in Japan at the time. They always seem to have the weirdest jap dudes backing them like Swery, Itagaki, and Futatsugi, or Yoshinori Ono and one of the Blazblue creators being huge Gears of War fans. The whole history of the Original Xbox in Japan is filled with some crazy shit like RE4 almost being signed as an Xbox exclusive but the translators fucking up the meeting with Shinji Mikami, or Japanese players needing Halo CE to be dumbed down even further because they couldn't grasp the control scheme at all. Or Seamus Blackley asking Itagaki if he would be willing to get some guns and swords and raid the Nvidia offices because the hardware wasn't what they promised. Shit's nuts.

I consider the Xbox the spiritual successor to the Dreamcast.

50 CENT BLOOD ON THE SAND IS PLAYABLE ON XBOX SERIES X/XBOX ONE

Is that game better now?
Apparently so, but going from like a 3 or 4 out of 10 to a 6. I have no real interest in it.

But Timesplitters… man… R* needs to look at this and see that this is all thats really necessary for a “remaster”. Up the resolution, make it run properly on new systems, and… thats it. The new GTA can go fuck itself sideways with a pineapple.
