Is Bill Gates stealing up water rights?
I'm all for Quantum of Solace becoming reality. That movie is criminally underrated in the Bond canon.

Also, is this article late? I know they were pushing that we keep to keep restrictions even after the vaccine, but now they're saying that you can still spread COVID after the vaccine? So what the fuck is the point of the vaccine then? I mean, besides just for show.

I mean, I know vaccines aren't 100% effective, but it feels like they are spreading the groundwork for eternal lockdowns. Even more blatantly than before.

COVID-19 May Hide in Brains and Cause Relapses

there are sovereign citizens in bongistan?

COVID-19’s Effects on the Brain

Autopsy studies have yet to find clear evidence of destructive viral invasion into patients’ brains, pushing researchers to consider alternative explanations of how SARS-CoV-2 causes neurological symptoms.

When you read the article they will explain that viral infections causing neurological symptoms is an old story. Now I'm no scientist or medical doctor but if Corona was causing damage to a billion fucking brains we would have the empirical evidence by now.

Absolutely. Over the upcoming months and years, it will be sickening to even try to tally the amount of societal damage from this national fuckup. The effects of the societal damage will last for years. "They" think they've put one over on the American people, between this and the stolen election. "They" are going to find they've fucked themselves.
Idk. Take all the kids traumatized by all this shit, who may well know kids who killed themselves, and teach them that this was forced upon them by Donald Drump and his facist white supremacist cult and you've got a great start for the new Red Guards

I wonder about the rise of home schooling and becoming a tighter knit community in some areas, guess we have to have police raids to make sure we don't have any house mixing

Today in Big Think trends that even a dumbass like me can spot, I decided to see if any significant dates matched up with the precipitous decline in daily COVID cases. One such date jumped out at me.
surelythisisnothinganno.png
Edit: Speaking of me being a dumbass, see the note after the charts regarding this date.

I remembered the chart @Mrs. Addams posted for LA county and it showed this decline around 1/11/2021 and 1/14/2021, however that was a chart for deaths, and was county specific, so off to the CDC website I went to see if the trend matched for daily cases, and I found that as if by magic it mostly did.

(Trends in Number of COVID-19 Cases and Deaths in the US Reported to CDC, by State/Territory)
us-state-trends27-01-2021.png
That is a chart downloaded directly from the CDC website.

Now, you can't download the interactive part so I had to screenshot the horse's mouth.

This is an unedited screenshot (besides cropping the content from the browser window) of me finding the Jan 13th 2021 on the chart. The text bubble obscures the trends slightly but comparing with the above chart it looks remarkably like the start of the major decline trend occurs right around that date, though I will note that the cases themselves (blue bars) rise for a couple days before they go through the floor on the 16th in both case numbers and trend.
bigthinktrendsnoline.png

Here's a chart with a helpful red line showing the 13th more easily:
bigthinktrendswithline.png

Maybe I'm nuts, but it kind of looks like the trend and number of daily cases cratered within a couple days of the WHO putting out a reminder (the initial notice in December was not a reminder) that those doing PCR testing could be introducing false positives and that they need to "refine" things.

Surely this is a big fat coincidence right? 😏

Edit: It has come to my attention that the Jan 13th notice didn't publish online until Jan 20th/21st, so I'm not sure what exactly the Jan 13 date refers to. If the notice was sent out to relevant entities on the 13th but not published online until the 21st this could still fit perfectly, but it may not fit as perfectly as I assumed, so if anyone knows what the Jan 13th date implies let me know.

Also, fun thing to do is compare the December WHO notice with the January 13th WHO notice:

WHO Information Notice for IVD Users

Nucleic acid testing (NAT) technologies that use real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) for detection of SARS-CoV-2

14 December 2020
|Medical product alert

|Geneva

|Reading time: 2 min (554 words)

Product type: Nucleic acid testing (NAT) technologies that use real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) for detection of SARS-CoV-2
Date: 7 December 2020
WHO-identifier: 2020/5, version 1
Purpose of this notice: To ensure users of certain nucleic acid testing (NAT) technologies are aware of certain aspects of the instructions for use (IFU) for all products.
Description of the problem: WHO has received user feedback on an elevated risk for false SARS-CoV-2 results when testing specimens using RT-PCR reagents on open systems.
As with any diagnostic procedure, the positive and negative predictive values for the product in a given testing population are important to note. As the positivity rate for SARS-CoV-2 decreases, the positive predictive value also decreases. This means that the probability that a person who has a positive result (SARS-CoV-2 detected) is truly infected with SARS-CoV-2 decreases as positivity rate decreases, irrespective of the assay specificity. Therefore, healthcare providers are encouraged to take into consideration testing results along with clinical signs and symptoms, confirmed status of any contacts, etc.
Users of RT-PCR reagents should read the IFU carefully to determine if manual adjustment of the PCR positivity threshold is necessary to account for any background noise which may lead to a specimen with a high cycle threshold (Ct) value result being interpreted as a positive result. The design principle of RT-PCR means that for patients with high levels of circulating virus (viral load), relatively few cycles will be needed to detect virus and so the Ct value will be low. Conversely, when specimens return a high Ct value, it means that many cycles were required to detect virus. In some circumstances, the distinction between background noise and actual presence of the target virus is difficult to ascertain. Thus, the IFU will state how to interpret specimens at or near the limit for PCR positivity. In some cases, the IFU will state that the cut-off should be manually adjusted to ensure that specimens with high Ct values are not incorrectly assigned SARS-CoV-2 detected due to background noise.
Manufacturers regularly review the design of their product, including labelling and IFU based on customer feedback. In the early phases of the COVID-19 pandemic, in vitro diagnostics (IVDs) were rapidly developed, validated and verified, and then rolled out. Therefore, it is not unexpected that IVDs may require refinement based on user feedback after their introduction at scale. Users should verify the version of the IFU with each consignment they receive to see if any changes have been made to the IFU.
Advice on action to be taken by users:
  1. Please read carefully the IFU in its entirety.
  2. Contact your local representative if there is any aspect of the IFU that is unclear to you.
  3. Check the IFU for each incoming consignment to detect any changes to the IFU.
  4. Consider any positive result (SARS-CoV-2 detected) or negative results (SARS-CoV-2 not detected) in combination with specimen type, clinical observations, patient history, and epidemiological information.
  5. Provide the Ct value in the report to the requesting healthcare provider.
Transmission of this WHO Information Notice for Users:
Please disseminate this notice to all those who need to be aware within your organization or to any organization where the potentially affected product has been deployed and used.

WHO Information Notice for IVD Users 2020/05

Nucleic acid testing (NAT) technologies that use polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for detection of SARS-CoV-2

20 January 2021
|Medical product alert

|Geneva

|Reading time: 1 min (370 words)

Product type: Nucleic acid testing (NAT) technologies that use polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for detection of SARS-CoV-2
Date: 13 January 2021
WHO-identifier: 2020/5, version 2
Target audience: laboratory professionals and users of IVDs.
Purpose of this notice: clarify information previously provided by WHO. This notice supersedes WHO Information Notice for In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Device (IVD) Users 2020/05 version 1, issued 14 December 2020.
Description of the problem: WHO requests users to follow the instructions for use (IFU) when interpreting results for specimens tested using PCR methodology.
Users of IVDs must read and follow the IFU carefully to determine if manual adjustment of the PCR positivity threshold is recommended by the manufacturer.
WHO guidance Diagnostic testing for SARS-CoV-2 states that careful interpretation of weak positive results is needed (1). The cycle threshold (Ct) needed to detect virus is inversely proportional to the patient’s viral load. Where test results do not correspond with the clinical presentation, a new specimen should be taken and retested using the same or different NAT technology.
WHO reminds IVD users that disease prevalence alters the predictive value of test results; as disease prevalence decreases, the risk of false positive increases (2). This means that the probability that a person who has a positive result (SARS-CoV-2 detected) is truly infected with SARS-CoV-2 decreases as prevalence decreases, irrespective of the claimed specificity.
Most PCR assays are indicated as an aid for diagnosis, therefore, health care providers must consider any result in combination with timing of sampling, specimen type, assay specifics, clinical observations, patient history, confirmed status of any contacts, and epidemiological information.
Actions to be taken by IVD users:
  1. Please read carefully the IFU in its entirety.
  2. Contact your local representative if there is any aspect of the IFU that is unclear to you.
  3. Check the IFU for each incoming consignment to detect any changes to the IFU.
  4. Provide the Ct value in the report to the requesting health care provider.

What's most interesting to me is that in the December memo they lay out in easier to understand terms how PCR testing can introduce false positives, whereas the January 13th reminder is harder to parse for a layman. Also of interest is that action item number 4 from December is gone in January.

Glad to find someone else who agrees.

Because a vaccine will still give you resistance to the virus. Basically you "catch" COVID, but it is getting shut down by your body before causing heavy symptoms.
(This is part of what makes me think COVID-19 is just really good at spreading without a full infection)

Idk. Take all the kids traumatized by all this shit, who may well know kids who killed themselves, and teach them that this was forced upon them by Donald Drump and his facist white supremacist cult and you've got a great start for the new Red Guards
And make sure those kids stay off WrongThink sites, lest they realize it was the progressives who did this to them.

They did something like Michigan(or Minnesotan don't remember wich state) , forbid the sell of unessential thing. It already dumb but what dumber the list is totally based on arbitrary thing without any kind of tought in or logic. Like Coat and mitten forbidden despite being essential in winter. Fridge, oven and dishwasher forbidden too.. so if one broke your in deep shit..
This is the kind of retarded shit that make terrorist raid look good...

Wales in the UK did this in October. All stores except supermarkets were shut, that week it was the first cold snap of the year and the Welsh Labour devolved Parliament, the Senedd, banned people from buying small white goods like heaters, home supplies like hot water bottles and electric blankets and warmer bedding, and kids clothing.

The real kicker is, the spastic in charge, Mark Drakeford, implemented this the weekend before the state benefit payment for that month so this move in particular shat on families in poverty.

Oh, and they also banned sale of tampons and razors too.

Not going to archive because not important enough.

Myth #5 of the vaccine:

This is where acknowledging that the myth comes from a place of some truth is a good starting point. It is true that we don't know how long the immunity from the vaccine will last. Studies thus far suggest that it should last at least for several months, but we don't know whether immune protection from the vaccine wanes over time. It's also possible that enough mutations might arise that new vaccines need to be configured, and people who received the vaccine already may need a booster shot — as is the case with a tetanus shot. It may be that coronavirus vaccine becomes something that you have to get every year, like the flu vaccine.

But just because you may need to get the vaccine again at some point again doesn't mean you shouldn't get it the first time. Think about the flu vaccine: Just because you have to get it every year doesn't mean you should never get it at all.

Yep, the vaccine only lasts a few months and they're going to suggest it be like the yearly flu vaccine.

But coronavirus isn't a flu everyone.

Ireland did the same thing in December and is doing the same thing now. Clothing sections in supermarkets hidden behind walls of fizzy drinks and easter eggs.

Waitasec...so if the vaccine, by the numbers presented here by Approved Expert Smart People™ is only effective for "months", and the Pfizer vaccine is a two shot process with a multi-week waiting period in between...

I am not liking the way these numbers are adding up. It kind of sounds like an endless vaccine treadmill.

Let me put it this way, if the politicization of the virus results in constant vaccination being fucking mandatory, this will end up being the pork barrel handout to beat, so to speak. Milling an airframe out of a solid titanium billet? Gotta do better. Gigantic bridge to literally nowhere? pfft, try again.

Amazin' :story:

Also a clever way to deal with people who can find a local, agreeable doctor to slip a $50 to and merely say they got the vaccine if they force it. You have to get your booster shot every six months. For a virus that's, what, seasonal flu levels of lethality?

The perfect grift. No wonder they felt the need to wreck everyone's confidence in the system, the billions, maybe even trillions that were at stake.

So what the hell were the ladies on their period supposed to do? Don't tell me they were expected to use towels.

Jesus Christ, did any of these dumbasses think these restrictions through at all?

And for bonus lols, two of the main advisors in the UK, whitty and balance, have major chunks of shares in big pharmaceutical companies.

@Vault Boy : I have no fucking clue fren. But its labour and they are fucking spastics tbh.

And I believe you can get haircuts again. Still no gyms though...
Gym is more important than haircut!
Some sovereign cititards have been trying to "liberate" critically ill people from hospitals

Godspeed, retards!

The latest bullshit from the county I live in. They can have my vaccine, even though I'm not 75. Matter of fact, "they" can take their vaccine, and their house arrests, and their criminal mistreatment of the people and STICK IT UP THEIR ASSES.

BREAKING NEWS FROM THE CARMEL PINE CONE

January 27, 2021, 3:34 p.m.

COUNTY LAUNCHES WEBSITE FOR 75-PLUS VACCINATION SIGNUPS

• Moreno says county is getting its share of vaccine

After announcing Monday that everyone 75 and older in Monterey County was eligible to be inoculated against the coronavirus, but saying nothing about when and where the shots would happen, the county has now launched a registration website where vaccinations can be scheduled.

The launch of the site was done with no public notice, and as word spread at hospitals and via word of mouth that it existed, all currently available slots were quickly used up. The best advice for people who qualify is to keep checking the site.

The registration website also wasn't mentioned in today's health department conference call with reporters, but health officer Dr. Ed Moreno did make some important comments about the county's allocation of coronavirus vaccine, which he said is just about where it should be.

Since the vaccine rollout began in December of last year, physicians, elected officials and citizens have questioned why Monterey County — which has a population of about 440,000 people — has received what seems to be a paltry amount of Covid-19 vaccine doses. Asked about the possible disparity, health officer Dr. Moreno said there’s no reason to believe Monterey County is getting fewer doses than other counties.

“I don’t have any evidence that we’re not getting adequate or appropriate proportion of vaccine,” he told The Pine Cone and other reporters. “So some people think that we are, but I don’t have any evidence for that.” (Please - Moreno couldn't tell his ass from a hole in the ground. - JS)

Yesterday, Moreno said the county was getting 2,000 to 4,000 doses a week from the manufacturers, and today he said the state uses a formula for county vaccine distribution, which includes determining the number of those who are 65 and older in a given county.

“So if a county has a greater population of those 65 years and older compared to another county,” it could result in a county getting “slightly” more vaccine than others with fewer people 65 and older, Moreno said. (Ya think? Ya think? Ya fucking think, Einstein? - JS)

Moreno said the state allows counties to submit weekly requests for more vaccine. The Monterey County Health Department, he said, has made only one request for more vaccine but did not receive any. Extra doses, he said, would come from counties that did not need the allocation. Moreno did not know when his health department made the request, but said it was recently. (The turd has no clue, talking out his ass again. - JS)

“We have made one request and we haven’t received any extra vaccines, so I don’t think we will be making more requests until we get more allocation,” he said.

Well, Biden has decided to rush out... twenty dollar bills with Harriet Tubman's face on them. I'm not joking.

Good job, Dems. That's proper prioritizing that will definitely help to stop the racial divide and the global pandemic. It will undo the mental health hell on earth created and fostered by greedy politicans. That's just what we need right now, a portrait swap on paper money.
While I understand there's non-COVID items requiring Federal Government action, the fact they're stressing race and identity politics early on (with the Tubman $20 among other things) suggests that the Dems care more about appealing to their voter base than making meaningful changes Trump couldn't or wouldn't accomplish during the past four years.

They did something like Michigan(or Minnesotan don't remember wich state) , forbid the sell of unessential thing.
Michigan banned the sale of items such as seeds and spray paint last Spring when people who found themselves idled from their jobs or forced to work from home decided they should use their extra free time to work on DIY projects. Capacity limits that were eventually adopted would have been better from the start, but government and thought don't always go hand-in-hand with each other.

Although the newspaper keeps this particular author behind its paywall, he wrote an article criticizing Governor Whitmer's refusal to allow winter contact sports and stated that basketball is currently allowed to be played as part of a school's in-person PE class while it's currently prohibited from being played by school basketball teams.

Jesus Christ, did any of these dumbasses think
No, they didn't. The response of many government officials to COVID has been more knee-jerk than logical. Yes, swift, decisive decision-making was needed this spring. However, what we got was devoid of any facts, logic, or reason that could have made things easier for all involved parties (including them).

“We have made one request and we haven’t received any extra vaccines, so I don’t think we will be making more requests until we get more allocation,” he said.
These localities requesting more vaccines seem to be acting as if (1) they're the only location requesting more and, (2) someone has the power to make the requested vaccines magically show up the next day. With demand for the vaccines currently outpacing the capacity to make it, these localities have to realize they're going to have to be patient for better or worse.

Biden's vow to get a large number of vaccines in time for Summer doesn't seem very reassuring either for someone who spent months harping on the fact then-President Trump had no sense of urgency when it came to addressing COVID.

I already picked up drinking over Corona...

working low irregular hours is realy fucking with me in every way. I cant even play video games anymore because i got my retired dad into playing games...
Nothing is cool or fun anymore if your parents do it too...

You know what really gets me about all this? I'm getting old, I only have a few years left to act like an idiot and enjoy what's left of my youth and now I can't do that and have to huddle in my apartment and wear a mask because of some selfish paranoid fucks and their idiot media enablers.

I don't get this time back, no one does. I'm going to die missing a year or more of my life.

How is this even remotely ok or moral?
