Are masks really that ineffective as what these journos are saying? They don't even know yet if the disease is airborne or not. I wouldn't be even surprised if this disease is actually airborne based by how fast it's spreading right now.
It's not airborne, but it can infect through your eyes. Which is what happened to the chinese SARS expert who was wearing an N95 mask and presumably wasn't being a complete retard. You can also shed the virus during the incubation period which is 2-14 days.

It's basically impossible to contain at this point. The ccp better hope that the 15% asian mortality rate isn't true.

Edit: I stand corrected, droplet transmission is considered as an airborne transmission.

Excuse me, what? How does that actually work apart from crying?
Basically people aren't exuding a viral death aura at all times, but if someone coughs toward you or sneezes toward you, the droplets could land on your eyes without you noticing. There's also a chance that you could touch an infected surface and then later on itch a spot near enough to your eye for them bad boys to jump ship.

If they are really going to go door to door I'd bet its more for the bodies. They'd want to be pulling bodies before they add another problem to an already full table. If you find a few obvious cases they'll go into the new death camps along with anyone they consider a problem but bodies is what its about.

Viruses can't transmit through the skin, but they can transmit through mucous membranes which the eyes have.

n-cov 2019 is atm spreads primarily via droplet transmission. Most people don't realize this but when you breathe you exhale micro droplets, which in this case the virus can hitch a ride on. Which really sucks when a virus can transmit during the incubation period.

If true, this showcases the absolute autism of the CCP. They are so hard-set about their image and looking like they're actively rooting out the disease, that they're barging into people's homes to drag the sick out onto the streets. All the while exposing valuable manpower to mulitple chances of infection. If they can self-medicate at home, leave them the fuck alone. What if you just busted some poor sap who might just have a cold? Hope he likes dying in a plague "hospital."

This is the sort of absolute dipshittery that makes me worry about my in-laws. Right now me and the missus have instructed them to stay home if they get sick. But with the way the glorious CCP is acting, there is a real possibility they would force them into a half-priced container filled with the sick, and smelling of piss and shit, so they can die drowning in their own fluids or from some secondary infection that I'm SURE is common in those "hospitals."
This is how the Spanish flu killed so many people.

Normally people that are mildly sick go to the doctor while those with a severe infection turtle up at home and lay around. This ensures that the milder form of the disease spreads and more severe forms don't.

However in WWI, the most severe cases of the flu were carried to ambulances, driven to train depots, and rode trains until they were near a hospital, after which they reversed the process until they were in a hospital bed. This process alone exposed thousands to the worst cases.

Once in hospitals they we're kept in massive open rooms, perfect for spreading and crossing the worst strains. Staff who cared for them spread it to their communities.

The CCP of the PRC are recreating the circumstances for a global pandemic that could easily escalate and kill hundreds of millions - maybe even a billion or more - of the global population. This says nothing of deaths from secondary infections, acts of God, and other things.

Don't worry, the CCP has everything under control and have undoubtedly studied the spanish flu pandemic.

So some cunt decided to use the virus to try to achieve Instagram clout. A hilarious prank!

A 28-year-old Canadian man has been charged with mischief after declaring that he has coronovirus on a WestJet plane bound for Jamaica, according to a statement issued by police.

The Peel Regional Police Airport Division Criminal Investigation Bureau stated that while on the flight, the man identified as James Potok stood up and announced that he had been to China where he contracted the illness.

Potok's actions forced the plane to return to the Pearson Airport in Canada. After that, he was assessed by medical staff and was declared symptom-free.

In a separate report by CBC, Potok said he made the announcement simply to create a viral video.

"Well, it was really just to create a viral video, to get something that, in my opinion, would have gone onto 6ixbuzz," he said to CBC.

Canada-based 6ixbuzz is a popular Instagram account with 1.4 million followers for entertainment content and viral videos. Potok also explained how he performed the stunt on the plane by pulling out his camera and asking everyone to give him some attention.

"I said, 'I just returned from a flight from Hunan province.' I might have said, 'This is the capital for coronavirus.' And then I said: 'I don't feel too well...'. And I looked around. I saw the reception of the people. They didn't seem too happy about it. I don't blame them. And I stopped recording and I sat back down in my chair."

Potok said he regretted his actions, claiming that he never intended to induce fear.

"I am extremely sorry. I am completely remorseful to everybody that I damaged their plans. To WestJet, I am apologetic, very sorry for the situation at hand. Me being an entertainer, there are things to say and things not to say. This was probably something in retrospect I should not have said."

In a video footage depicting the moment Potok was asked to leave the plane published by City News, he can be seen wearing a face mask as some passengers watched him collect his items. Potok told the news outlet that he wanted to create the viral video because he is an "upcoming artiste" and was looking for publicity.

Peel Regional Police said Potok has been charged with mischief and breach of recognisance and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in March.

If its airborne then the only thing that will stop it would be a powered or self contained air system in a suit. The P100 will work vs aerosol, the P95 less so but still far better than nothing.

It is very much airborne; that's easy information to find if for some reason you can't intuit the fact that a cold is spread by coughing. Contact with infected surfaces contributes as well but somebody can sneeze at you from six feet away and you're right in the danger zone. Getting it in your eyes or inhaling it where it can get at your mucus membranes is how it infects you.

Most often, spread from person-to-person happens among close contacts (about 6 feet). Person-to-person spread is thought to occur mainly via respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes, similar to how influenza and other respiratory pathogens spread. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs. It’s currently unclear if a person can get 2019-nCoV by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes.

If there's anyone else in this thread who is also having a hard time understanding basic facts about this situation, maybe do some light research to get yourself up to speed.

What's the source on that? One of the hotels or stadiums they're doing a slapdash retrofit on?
It's a makeshift hospital at the Wuhan International Conference and Exhibition Center

No dude, airborne transmission and droplet transmission are two very different things
Actually you are right, apparently droplet transmission is just a subset of airborne transmission, didn't realize this.

Probably whoever entered it put what is supposed to be "infections" in the "deaths" column, and filled in the other columns with either the real numbers or a whole different dataset.

I found this in the comments of the Twitter post.

Cao Zhongming, ambasador of china in Belgium, is mad at us for making "anti-chinese" cartoons about the corona virus. He says China is doing everything they can to counter the virus. He's also making excuses for the slow reaction of the governement in China and says that China did very well and is very transparent.
Lol, Someone is shilling hard. He doesn't wanna get into trouble:lol:

Also the only infected belgian really doesn't know where he got the virus. He never came into contact with people that seemed sick(he says) and he was the only sick one on board of the plane.
I hope he's gonna be ok. It seems like he's doing just fine.

IT'S JUST A PRANK BRO

dickhead
What an exceptional individual, everybody knows, that you do these kind of pranks, get too drunk on a plane etc. after the point of no return (when destination is closer than the embarkation point).
