Honestly, the fact the media is trying to downplay this one rather than hype up how we're all doomed once again should be the most worrisome thing about it to all of you.
On the other hand, I think there's a very high chance this will do very little outside of China. China has horrendous hygiene practices and does literally everything you shouldn't do in order to keep your immune system up. Honestly, it was only a matter of time before something minor that they don't have 1000 years of built up immunity to came along and ravaged their entire country. On the plus, it might purge all the bugchasers in San fran, so there's that.

TORONTO, ON — A Toronto hospital says it has a confirmed case of the deadly virus from China, Canada's first.

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre said Saturday it is "caring for a patient who has a confirmed case of the novel coronavirus that originated in Wuhan, China."

Dr. David Williams, Chief Medical Officer of Health, said they are 95 percent sure it is the virus after lab testing was done in Ontario.

And yet MERS, which is genetically very similar, came from a low population area thats famous for being picky in which meats they eat. Its a low level risk associated with any people to mammal/bird contact. Since China's markets have tons of both you would expect these diseases to come from there more than anywhere else and, seemingly, they do.

People push the China market and bush meat narratives so much, and yet everywhere else still produces diseases too. MERS also low-key killed twice as many people as SARS did, and over a longer time, and is still an ongoing issue a decade later.

MERS is much harder to spread then a lot of respiratory viruses, it's R0 is around .5 meaning one person is expected to infect half a person on average.

This NCoV2019 is currently calculated as having an R0 of 2.5, with one person expected to infect 2.5 people on average which unchecked is an exponential growth curve.

no, bats really do disproportionately carry extremely dangerous diseases. they have very good immune systems and their bodies get hot in flight, meaning any pathogens they do obtain are going to be strong against fever, which normally denatures viruses.

bats truly are cesspits for disease. do not fucking eat them.

MERS is found in camel milch, organs and urine and Muslim Arabs aren't picky about their camels because they're halal. No one else other than sandniggers eat camel except for guess who: chinks! The market in Wuhan sold camel meat. If it isn't a bioweapon then its a mix of bat and camel virus that went nuclear with rat hantavirus for added flavor.
 
What I think is happening in Wuhan and why the people are dropping dead and the condition of these people is so severe compared to people in other parts of China and the world is that they are besieged by these infected patients with zero resources. Like, building two new hospitals, the nurses and doctors crying and screaming, corpses on the floor, the person having a seizure in what looks to be a hallway, waiting rooms filled with people and so on. They are not able to effectively qurantine the effected patients leading to all these people and the healthcare professionals being infected.

They lack professionals to care for the patients and the ones they do have losing their minds with stress, hysterically emotional and sleep deprived. They do not have enough or high-level enough protective clothing. They likely do not have anywhere sufficient access, if any at all, to Interferon, Remdesvir, the RSV and the HIV medications. They are likely lacking in medical equipment like nasal cannulas, oxygen masks, CPAP, ventilators, ECMO, steroids that reduce inflammation, and fever reduction medications. China has terrible air pollution and 26.6 percent of adults are smokers. This is why they are dying. I think if you contracted it in a first-world county you'd live.
