The problem for people with autoimmune disorders is a fairly simple one. Our immune systems are already hyperactive, and introducing anything that stimulates an already overactive immune system can cause a serious, sometimes fatal flare of the disease.

The wait and see has of course turned into a hard no for me, and not just for medical reasons. In a bit of medical irony, the med I've taken everyday for many years that allows me to live a fairly active and normal life despite Lupus, just happens to be Hydroxychloroquine.

I don't know if the HCQ has helped protect me from covid or not, but I've never been vaxxed, and have never worn a mask. I'm basically a model of covid non-compliance, and I've never had the coof.

It wasn't anything related to a stroke or a failure in the cardiovascular system, sorry I thought I mentioned it but he died of liver failure that's why he thinks it may have not been from the vaccine. But yeah, that girl who had her period and hormones all fucked up, I didn't present it as mild, it's one of the two suspicious side effects from people he knew about that were anything but mild.

We should tell that to the "Quebec clique" featuring the so-called artists lke Dan Bigras, André Ducharme and journalists like Richard Martineau and Patrick Lagacé who still blame the non-vaxxed guys for this. I guess it's more easier to blame and hit the non-vaxx instead of going against the big corporations like Pfizer, Moderna, J&J,....
 
So I thought I'd provide a bit of field reporting. I work out in the field and drive around a lot so I pass those free COVID test sites often. Pass them in the rich white areas. The poor Hispanic areas. The ones on university grounds. Everytime I would pass them, empty. A fucking ghost town. Just some poor sap in scrubs and a mask playing on their phone alone.

Last week was the first time I saw a line to one of these sites, not that long but at least a dozen cars lined up into the street obstructing traffic. Almost looked like a pickup line for an elementary school or something. Today, midday, like "taking a late lunch" midday, there was this massive line at that location for the free COVID test. Wrapped around the parking lot, out onto the major street and down the block into a neighborhood. Had to be 40 something cars. This is a working class Hispanic area for reference.

Now that leaves me with two theories, either everyone with a little sniffles is getting tested to get out of work or the jab mandates did not have the desired effect, maybe both.

My sister had a miscarriage 72 hours after the first Pfizer vaccine, then a clot based stroke ten days after. She got the shot after pressure from work. And now she is ruined. Will most likely never work again at not even forty.

Edited to say. We talked, she and I about the vaccine. And I am gutted she had it. And now this. And the first thing the doctor admitting her for the stroke was, "don't you blame this on the vaccine". Shit fucking hurts, man.

Honestly, I've gotten contacted about extra shifts or double shifts a couple of times a week since winter started.

It's still horrifying how quickly things turned upside down with this, and how long they've stayed that way. Covid is a cold. It's always been a cold. And all of its Very Deadly Variants are also colds. And yet, you have people without a shred of self-awareness saying things like "don't do X unless you've been tested! You could spread it and that's how we get variants!" Yes. That's...how the common cold has mutated a new strain every ye...how the fuck isn't this clicking with you? Every single goddamn thing these people treat like some sort of unknowable witchery or novel alien behavior is a feature of common colds that elementary school students know about. Yes it mutates. Yes it spreads even when you don't think you've been around sick people. Yes wearing a diaper on your face doesn't work. Yes you catch it when you're indoors because breathing the same air as other people is how seasonal viruses get around. WHY are these NPCs still acting like airborne viruses arrived in a spaceship last year and we're learning about them for the first time? HOW are they still this nuts?
 
We're now meant to cheer on a government denying entry to a foreign visitor over a refusal to undergo a medical procedure that demonstrably doesn't perform the function it says it does, because he may have an invisible disease that we can prove he doesn't have. Just confirming for the one millionth time since this all started that evidence and science mean fuckall, and that Covid is an entirely faith-based endeavor.

I don't understand why we don't go whole hog and just return to the ill humors or miasma or whatever the hell theory of disease we had back in the day, because that more closely matches how these freaks think Covid works.

They're traumatised from being locked indoors and told they're all going to die (when many had never really had to confront their own mortality before) and told The Science would save them, left to simmer in prolonged isolation and then plunged back into it again, surrounded by extreme messaging about how they'll kill people if they spread it. They want to stay indoors until The Science declares Covid Is Over.

You'll see this especially in the cognitive dissonance that emerges when you try to talk about the damage lockdowns do.

"The economic damage we're causing could have more of an impact on life expectancy than letting covid run wild? You're putting a cost on human life and want to kill granny just to prop up the economy!"

"You're engaging in activities like going to the pub that aren't illegal or even against guidance? You're killing granny!"

"You don't want to take a vaccine every 3 months because you have concerns about T cell exhaustion and original antigenic sin? You're a conspiracy theorist anti-vaxxer who's killing granny!"

"You don't support permanent curbs on our liberties to manage coronavirus? You're a selfish bastard who's killing granny!"

It's a knee jerk emotional response, and when you encounter people like this they often won't listen to any attempt at reasoned argument, but just immediately shut it down. And the problem with this sort of mental health issue is that even when you remove the trigger (social isolation, lockdowns, constant doom mongering) the problem can persist for a very long time if left untreated.
