We're now meant to cheer on a government denying entry to a foreign visitor over a refusal to undergo a medical procedure that demonstrably doesn't perform the function it says it does, because he may have an invisible disease that we can prove he doesn't have. Just confirming for the one millionth time since this all started that evidence and science mean fuckall, and that Covid is an entirely faith-based endeavor.

Got an email yesterday saying I need to provide my vax status by the 16th. Partially or unvaccinated employees either have to get the vax or test weekly. At-home tests are apparently okay, which is hilarious to me. I could probably just keep sending them pictures of the same negative test.

And all of its Very Deadly Variants are also colds. And yet, you have people without a shred of self-awareness saying things like "don't do X unless you've been tested! You could spread it and that's how we get variants!" Yes. That's...how the common cold has mutated a new strain every ye...how the fuck isn't this clicking with you? Every single goddamn thing these people treat like some sort of unknowable witchery or novel alien behavior is a feature of common colds that elementary school students know about. Yes it mutates. Yes it spreads even when you don't think you've been around sick people. Yes wearing a diaper on your face doesn't work. Yes you catch it when you're indoors because breathing the same air as other people is how seasonal viruses get around. WHY are these NPCs still acting like airborne viruses arrived in a spaceship last year and we're learning about them for the first time? HOW are they still this nuts?

People will double down and act more insane as a defense mechanism. It may seem nonsensical to rational people, but they can’t accept that they’re the “bad guys” and instead of renouncing their prior beliefs and trying to stop the insanity they will escalate. These people will kill a lot of people to avoid having to admit their complicity in the evil that’s been going on. Some of them would go as far as killing everyone who isn’t vaccinated if it meant they didn’t have to admit being wrong. That may sound crazy now, but it’s only a matter of time until they get to that. Little update on how I'm doing with my coof: still pretty damn good, all things considered! Over 72 hours later from when I took an OTC home test to detect it and my worst symptoms are just uncomfortable body aches while sleeping, some minor sinus pressure at the top of my cranium and a tiny bit of post-nasal drip. Still been managing it with some generic sudafed, Tylenol to minimize the bodyaches, drinking Gatorades and Tonic Waters, and eating my usual choice of foods.

I am still astounded that this is my own personal experience with COVID. I think my family members are secretly wondering how I'm shrugging it off so easily without a single vaccine to my name, though they can tell I'm still in good spirits and ultimately aren't that worried about me going into some kind of spiral. This really did turn out to be a best-case scenario after I had to watch two years of pure societal insanity.

Guy I work with got all his shots and since then he's started having heart problems he's never had before. He's in his mid 30s and he has a few unrelated health issues he'd been seeing a doctor about, seems that's why he was convinced to take the vax.

So several months ago my girlfriend's parents who are in their 80's contracted the coof. They went to their family doctor who was pissed they even got tested. They had sniffles for a little bit but quickly got over it. On new years eve my gf's sister tried to get some family together to celebrate but only managed to get her brother over. It ended up being her sister (~38 years old vaxxed) brother (55 years old vaxxed) and the 80 year old parents who had already caught it.
