Hah, empathy. I've noted it as the favorite buzzword of probably some of today's most evil people. These are devils trying to cover up their horns with halos. When you hear the word from someone, be wary, what they've got in their head is likely something horrible. I think due to our history with racism and what's been pushed in schools (sometimes understandably and rightly, like the fixation on America's racist past and stuff) along with the social media and therapy culture, we've created narcissists that channel their predatory behavior into 'toxic benevolence," scrambling over and eating each other up over who can be the better person, paradoxically enough (by being the most rotten).

"We will crush you with empathy." Nothing could be a more honest statement from this vile people.

Remember, these protests are, in their individual psychologies, attractive because it puts them out in public displaying their grandiose virtues, in front of everyone, able to be photographed and get bragging rights. It's why modern protesting has gotten so flamboyant and with so many frills and props, shit like pussy hats. A sign isn't enough--they want visibility on an individual level, recognition on an individual level, to be loved for it by others. They need adulation. They *love* doing this. They find it exhilarating and fun. You know any of these people, check their facebook pages? They always post pictures of themselves holding their signs. This isn't some solemn fight of necessity, this is their spotlight.

We have too much empathy in society anyway. What we need is toughness/thick skins and truth. But that's not happening. I don't think there is any way to reverse this trend.

I always wondered what's the ratio of people who say things like this because they actually believe it and people who go to the opposite extreme because "the bad guys" said something.

We've got a couple, but academic lolcows have a habit of losing their teaching positions (even in gender studies departments) and just becoming plain old unemployed Twitter lolcows.

Sorry, but if I could get residence permit for being a maid or janitor, I'd already live in USA...you need to have really high education to get the visa, and of course speaking English fluently is a must too.

....though he probably meant illegal immigrants, indeed. Even though he didn't write it.
