Voidspacer is actually no longer working on Artrise, he resigned back in May of 2020. The project is apparently currently in overhaul, and the entire Discord server is in read only mode, as of May 3rd, 2021.
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it follows the fate of all of the attempts at creating a new art website a la old school deviantArt, ending up abandoned before it even finishes.

Oh shit...

I don't want to say this but... I was in that server.

One of their most petty and annoying traits is how hate genderbends and think it's transphobic.

"Trans headcanons are better than cis swaps"!

yet racebends are perfectly fine....

albeit, I'm all for doing creative reimaginings on popular well established characters but this sort of hypocrisy is the most asinine logic I've seen this side of the world wide web. I mean I can get the reasoning since a lot of male to female genderbends tend to be uninspiring and generic (like slapping big boobs and a bikini on sonic the hedgehog), but transphobic? In what way? If it's okay to make some character black, then it's equally okay to draw a character as woman or a man. It's hurting no one.

i enjoy gender bending and dont mind race bending along as its a what if sort of thing, its fun. but with people on twitter well, no fun allowed.

Yeah. If it's out of curiosity/palette swap/etc, that's one thing. It's claiming you fixed or improved the character that's another. Same goes for altering any aspect of a character really.

Also back in 2018 or so a Fire Emblem roleplayer got dog piled on Twitter for doing a genderbend event and was labeled transphobic. It was really sad.

From what my rotting brain can muster, they hate paw patrol because they see it as a show that brainwashes kids to think cops are good. And of course that’s very very pwoblematic because ACAB. As for literally every online personality they hate, y’all already know it’s because they either said something problematic or they were accused of sexual misconduct.

a good example would be I am a fish. A tumble user who became famous for (in my opinion) semi comedic posts about being, well a fish. Their issue was that some other tumblr user accused fish of being a sex pest in the dms.

now I never see the account active. Effectively cancelled

saying how Archive of Our Own supports pedophilia because it's on the site.
Well, I mean... Jay isn't wrong?

Ingoreing the whole retared anti vs. proship autismfest and whatever drawing fictional kids is okay

There is literal porn fanfiction of Tommy Minecraft YouTuber, who's littealy a kid

Here’s the thing.

Just because it’s on the site doesn’t mean the creators WANT it on there, or are even aware of a Minecraft youtuber is under 18 years old.

Any site,,,and I mean ANY site that’s free to sign up will most likely have some illegal, dirty shit on it. Twitter has and always will be a hot spot for pedos, psychopaths, zoophiles, etc.

Alot of these people who complain about it rather get clout points by screeching AO3 supports pedophilia,...Rather than reporting the author and moving on.

TLDR: Jay just blurting out AO3 supports pedophilia is retarded. It’s a vague sentence with NO PROOF provided btw.

First, Voidspacer is female, FTMs aren't men. Second... unsurprising that they're still in development and already had two admins leave the team. DeviantArt replaced gender with pronouns, what more could they want? Sure, the UI is shit, but it caters to the general audience pretty well.

I'd rather wait for a team of professional, seasoned artists make a new art site than a bunch of SJWS make a diet Tumblr.

I'm sorry, Paw Patrol?? I'm assuming because it's about a little police dog, but are people really kicking so low as to "call out" shows for toddlers?
Mentally speaking, these “woke” artists are built and modeled like children, so I wouldn’t be surprised that they care this much about Paw Patrol being liked by kids and not showing the same likeness towards them.

Also, remember the Dream Daddy incident back in 2017 when an artist got harassed for genderbending the trans one.

I actively use Twitter for my art. My experience: I barely get any engagement with my posts and it took me well over a year to get 100 followers. It's incredibly discouraging, especially when you're proud of a piece. With that said: Twitter is absolute shit for art unless you integrate yourself into the "[whatever] side of Twitter" - even then, you'll have a steep decline in followers and engagements if you post something from a different fandom or niche. (Twitter also forces your engagements down if you put more than 2 hashtags on your art, I've learned. Oh, you wanted more reach? Too bad. Less reach.) It's absolutely insane to me that so many people stay on Twitter to post their art. It's not as if there are many better (active) platforms.

My poor experience with art twitter has given me lots of helpful insights to provide to this thread, though!

  • Hypocrisy is rampant in art twitter. Absolutely rampant. Self-proclaimed anti-shippers will say that drawing porn of a fictional child is unforgivable, and then they will go right to drawing porn of real life children (TommyInnit, for example, as mentioned earlier in the thread).
  • POC artists will do anything to remind people of the fact that they're POC. This includes spamming hashtags, their own GoFundMes, which were founded solely for "support a poor [race] [gender (never male, unless trans)] artist!", and putting down other artists over nothing other than the fact that artist is white.
  • Twitter artists will stop at nothing to ruin your life if you dissent from the socially-accepted status quo. If you're a Japanese artist who drew Marina from Splatoon 2 with her skin a shade lighter to go with your color palette, you're now going to get harassed off Twitter by people who don't know Japanese social norms. If you dare to make art of a problematic form of media as well, then you're gone too. Hell, Friday Night Funkin' is somehow becoming a problematic media now as well.
  • That last point made me remember: if it's popular, it's most likely going to fall into the problematic media category solely because this hivemind of (mostly female) Twitter users don't like seeing it anymore. That is to say, unless it's MCYT, because God does Twitter obsess over those bland white men.
I'll also throw my two cents into the ring on the genderbend debate based on what I've seen.

You may think that genderbends are transphobic because they portray an unattainable idealized version of that character in the opposite gender, right? Well, according to 9 out of 10 Twitter users that you'd ask, you'd actually be wrong. I've learned that genderbends are transphobic because... they enforce the idea that there's only two genders. I wish I was pulling your legs. :heart-empty:

I’ve used Twitter mainly just for art and fandoms I follow but it’s so rare to find artist who draw organically diverse art without seemingly getting involved in petty slap fights or getting canned for dare stepping out of line. Just a BLM hashtag in a bio isn’t enough for these people.

also, all media has problematic elements in it. You simply can’t make a omelette without breaking a few eggs as a bit of risk makes it more interesting. Without it you get non-offensive media that appeals to no one.

I just discover that some woke people on twitter tried to "fix" the character from a hentai manga to make her black because "we need more black people!!" but they didn't know that it was from a hentai manga with a 16 years old sex slave

Man, really shows how little research these idiots do. The way the tits were drawn really should've given it away... or even the word 'harem' in the title.

Somewhat related, an artist decided to show a trick on how they draw fanart of a cookie run character, but then recieved slurs of harassment. She was not online during the campaign, so people started attacking her last tweets. She finally came on today to apologize.

I legitimately hate the Western community for Cookie Run most of the time. They're fucking cookies. Let people interpret them however they wish. Cookie color doesn't always equate to skin tone, ffs. I don't remember seeing people with green skin.

Wait they got mad... over a cookie??? Most stuff can be just barely kind of justified or at least understood to a degree, but how do you get in trouble for white washing a COOKIE?? Also it makes sense they'd make a vampire character pale. I'm tired. What the fuck. The fact it wasn't even just one person either is really baffling.

As someone who makes a lot of gender bends and remembers seeing them be accepted back in the day the hate towards them makes me sad. As a girl I want to see better female characters so sometimes I’ll take my favorite male character and make them a girl so I can relate to them better. I’m not surprised though these people will bitch about anything.

These people are honestly some of the furthest left when it comes to matters on social justice and similar topics. Many of the more mainstream, less woke and often more tolerable groups of leftists at least don't have all these DNIs, neopronouns and xenogenders and can even be very friendly despite having an annoying trait or 2. I'm personally friends with members of the LGBT community and some staunch leftists, but they are all very kind and more based than they looked once you got to know them more. They found cancel culture to be stupid, despised identity politics, were able to see errors of their ways and respected my conservative friends instead of fighting them.

The Woke Art Community and its community really freak me out and honestly come across as an excellent example of horseshoe theory (Far-right fundies banning Pokémon and South Park, etc.; while far-left woketards will not allow you to interact with them if you like Hazbin Hotel or Rick and Morty, etc). I've also noticed many times that they tend to be the most frequent participants in left-wing cancel culture, as I've seen in the mobs that called PewDiePie a Nazi and VivziePop a monster. If there is anything, I consider them to be bottom of the barrel of all the left-wing cows in terms of personality and behavior and thus the ones that produce the best and most milk.
