If that's the case, then it did a great service and we can now kill him.
He killed a snake, then sold the rest, but didn't he have a handful of other reptiles? Does he still have them? Or would they be dead by now anyway? I guess I don't know the number or type he had, nor am I familiar with their average captive lifespans. I just feel like he would mention selling the lizards also if he sold them with the snakes. He seems like the kind of person to specify that kind of thing.

Tegus are also really prone to stress and may not adjust well to new environments past a certain age. I'm pretty angry he was allowed to have one at all. Tegus can even interact with non reptiles comfortably if they're socialized. His was too young to tell and I sincerely hope it got away before his shifty behavior could ruin such an awesome animal.
EDIT: So not to double post, but one day later he's already talking about getting another snake. I vote Black Adder or Sea Snake.

He's mentioned before he wanted a King Cobra. I know that it would be cruel to the snake, but I hope he gets one. Last snake he'll ever own.

Funny enough, in the comments someone made the same suggestion and he responded enthusiastically and said "they're really docile!". His parents refuse to let him get one though.

False water cobra sounds like a good call: large, very aggressive, long rear mounted fangs, mild venom that wont kill you but makes the bite feel like a sting from a cat sized wasp. Oh and they gnaw when they get a bite so as to do as much damage as possible.

Why stop at a black mamba? Why not get a taipan? Hell, ship him off to Australia so he can pick out the “perfect” one himself!

I think you guys are missing the point! The man needs more snakes!
Have him get them all, and hell if he wants another lizard how about a Mexican beaded lizard? They aren't fatal, but they can really cause ALOT of pain.
