For sockpuppeting with around five extra accounts.

What's the problem with that? I've been lead to believe that everybody does it apparently.
Many things. Delegitimizes information, makes engagement questionable, gives the impression of false or inflated user account numbers, monopolizes discussion and community opinion, and allows for ban evading. Sockpuppeting has a zero tolerance policy against it, I believe, so even if it's harmless, it will result in a ban.

Try as I may I cannot come up with a legitimate reason to sock if you're not banned. Like, what do you stand to gain from this? If you're a retard that did retarded things you will continue to do retarded things and people will catch on eventually.

I think these are all positives actually. Community opinion should be determined by the guy with the most sock accounts.

This confuses me because all BBL appeared to do was post irreverent enlightened material in Q&A. I thought for it to be sockpuppeteering you have to be boosting a narrative or some message illegitimately. If he didn't do that then isn't it just issuing a ban for alt accounts?

Is @Leftover Mayo banned having outright admitted to being a sock of @Blobby's Murder Knife? It appears to me that she isn't aware of this policy. I was being facetious when I asked what the problem with socking is, but I think there might be a great many users who genuinely didn't know that they aren't allowed to do this.

It creates false social proof or attempts to. I am not sure I have ever seen a serious post from that user but did not follow closely. If a poster does not want create the illusion of others agreeing with him then it is just to die chaos and to troll.
