This is something I'm curious about why have records comeback when they can only be played in your house yet CDs which are not only cheaper but can be played in your car haven't had a comeback

Optical media is dying in part because of consumer choice, but also because companies figured out that locking people into streaming subscription models is more lucrative.
That’s part of the fun of it though.Optical media is dying out because pushing a button and instantly getting the music I want beats the shit out of hunting obscure record stores for weeks hoping that a used copy of Savatage's Wake of Magellan might show up somewhere some day.
sneek into the store I KNOW WHAT IM GONNA BUY IM GONNA BUY A SEXY ALBUM hides madonna album under christmas hat and mercyme CD has mom checkout WHAT SON WHY YOU BUY A SEXY ALBUM im so glad we have streaming true story btwThat’s part of the fun of it though. That being said most of the shit I buy is OOP, so I’d have just as much luck on eBay as I would in a record store. Besides, it’s fun to shoot the shit with the clerk and get recommendations. That’s one thing I miss about the analog era, that and also buying bootleg European VHS tapes and cassettes from ‘totally legit’ rental stores back home.
I'm talking more of optical media in general. It could have had a future by pivoting to UHD 8K movies and as an HDD alternative, but it didn't happen. It will be pretty well snuffed out by the time discless PS6 launches.Optical media is dying out because pushing a button and instantly getting the music I want beats the shit out of hunting obscure record stores for weeks hoping that a used copy of Savatage's Wake of Magellan might show up somewhere some day. Sure, you can order discs online now, but why even bother?
that excuse makes no sense because records are huge but they are popular againIf you grew up with them you'd know CDs are too big thats why.
Tapes therefore walkmans were eventually pocketsized.
CDs will always been that just a bit too large size.
