I'm not saying this to own the gays or anything like that, I'm genuinely curious. Why did it evolve as a trait in humans and some other mammals? what causes it to trigger? is it genetic?

Because you actually want to know the real answer, I have bad news, we don't know why. People will of course say that it's some kind of philia or it's because they were molested as children or low testosterone or whatever but the matter of the fact is most of those are DEFINITELY false and the others don't work. First off homosexuality has been seen in basically every species of animals that are studied about this are observed to have had homosexual sex, and in some cases, even have same sex special bonding. Second the idea that they are molested is possibly closer to it but not really. Among heterosexual males about 10% claim to have been molested, where as homosexual males have claimed twice that at 20% of them, which still doesn't...

I believe there is definitely some sort of genetic hormonal imbalance in some men that causes them to be at greater risk to become homosexuals. Probably something that happens in the womb. Combine that with a trigger event in their life like being molested as a child and boom you got a faggot. I also think some men become homosexuals trough excessive porn consumption and inceldom. Kind of like prison-gay where they hate women so much that they think they are "owning" women by jerking it to femboy porn. You will also see this in "transbians" aka men pretending to be women who fuck each other because they can't find a real woman to fuck them. I think men can easily be memed into having all kinds of paraphilias through excessive porn exposure, that's why porn is fucking bad for you.

As for lesbians I think they just hate men and probably have some kind of trauma related to men.

The "there are ghey animals" thing is just bullshit if you ask me. I don't think any animals are gay, they are just retarded animals and sometimes confuse a male for a female because they are dumb and sometimes they don't have very distinguishing features. Not because they are gay.

A nice wall of text, but the same old anti-homo arguments as always. It'd be nice if people could just admit human sexuality is extremely complicated and that they don't have the answers.

Because biology is imperfect and people get horny. Why do dogs hump anything they can find? Same answer.

More abstractly, it probably arose as an unintended consequence of selected behavior. For women, if all the men are out hunting, makes sense to bunk up with another girl and share resources for child rearing. If you're a guy out hunting, having people who care about you offers protection. Also, dick + hole = duh for alot of em. So, homosexuality probably evolved from a bisexuality that some evolved for group-selection reasons + biology being biology.

Fwiw I will probably get shit for this, but I don't care.

The current theory is that it evolved as a mechanism so that there would be more caretakers in a childs life. I.e gay uncle or whatever helping to take care of his sister's kids.

Animals put off pheromones and they wouldn't be very good at surviving wilderness conditions if they were just dumb.

We have a husky that's very passionate towards our little Chihuahua. I never really believed it, until we took a trip to another state to visit family. The Chihuahua came with us, and the husky stayed behind. We were gone about a week and when we came back, woo boy.

The husky refused to give our little guy a break and absolutely would not stop trying to lick him, be on him, and be near him. Luckily, he might have realized he'd have a hard time trying to mount, because that would be a disaster. I had to physically withhold and keep the husky back.

Unfortunately for him, the Chihuahua does not reciprocate and was rather annoyed and pissed off by the whole thing. Growling and trying to bite the bigger dogs face whenever he was coming in. This went on for several days before I didn't have to supervise anymore and things went back to "normal."

We have 2 Chihuahua, and 2 cats. Along with other dogs of various sex that have come and gone. He only has eyes for the one.

I personally believe that environmental factors are also significant influences of homosexuality.

Down the line, it's an exclusive fetish of sort.

  • Boys who get diddled by other men often grow up to be homosexuals.
  • Same with people who had their first exploring experiences with other boys.
  • Same with boys who grew up surrounded by women and sisters without any male figure to look up to or an abusive male figure.

I am not saying that being gay is not something that only occurs through external factors..

However, I do strongly believe that one's first sexual experiences have a strong influence further down the line when it comes to sexual preferences and fetishes.

I am not in denial of the fact that some people just appear to be born gay.

I've personally been horny and desperate to get action, and sometimes got hit on by guys. It never ever crossed my mind to engage. It might be harsh, but it kind of repulses me, I think that's the best way to describe it. I don't think that it's possible to force yourself to enjoy something you are inexplicably repulsed by.

I think the old medical idea, that it was a physical and/or psychological illness can't fully explain it.

I think the newfangled idea that it's just normal and A-OK, summed up with the unproven claim that they are "born this way" is just ignoring the issue.

Homosexuality is a cross, a temptation to sin. I think it might have a physical and psychological dimension in most if not all cases, like addictions to drink or overeating, and people may be born or develop with certain issues that give them certain leanings. It is disorder, not comparable to ordered heterosexual attraction, brought to the height of dignity through the sacrament of marriage. May God grant us all the wisdom and strength to resist the temptations to fall to sexual sin.
