Ah, just wondering, since the waiting list is about 30 years here in the GTA!

Did Barb pre-pay for her funeral expenses? I know she wants to be shoved into the box with Bob, and probably paid for that, but what about the other expenses? Are her wants outlined in her will? Does she have life insurance and did she resist the urge to borrow against it? Since her family hates her, I'm just wondering how much of that falls on to Chris, because that shit would fuck up even a competent person's finances.

How is Chris supposed to hold down a job?

He looks like a Circus freak.
He sees no problem in looking like a Circus freak.
References to his Dirty Crapped Briefs or his clearly unused Shower strongly suggest bad hygiene.
The guy is boring to talk to in most cases.
If he's not boring, he could be midrange crazy.
He's very lazy by inclination.
He's not particularly smart.
He's got a criminal record; his run in with the law directly suggests mental health concerns.
Chris has had one job and lost it after a couple months, tops. His History is crap.
So help me if Chris is actually listing Michael Snyder as a reference on his resume TO THIS DAY.

The truth is, Chris could probably grill burgers or lift boxes in a warehouse.
But why would a fast food manager or a warehouse manager WANT to hire this guy?

You can get an illegal immigrant or a teenager with far better social skills for the same money.

Chris best odds, honestly, are after spending a year behind bars and having Tomgirl smacked out of him. There are chances of this.

that can change if push comes to shove

this wont change though, but he'll put up with it and bitch about it later.

as long as he doesn't shit himself he'll be fine

irrelevant

possibly irrelevant

perfect CEO
He's not particularly smart.
perfect popstar
also a lot of jobs don't need that much with intelligence
He's got a criminal record; his run in with the law directly suggests mental health concerns.
okay so he can be a rapper then

It does depend on the job market and the job he is applying to. Obviously, if he has a lot of competition for a position, he would struggle more. But jobs are sorted perfectly. It's not the case that everyone with a job is better qualified for it than everyone who is unemployed. If Chris put effort into applying to all the low-skillled jobs in his vicinity, eventually he would end up at the right place at the right time, find a hiring person who felt sorry for him, or have some other piece of luck that landed him a job.

Also, large companies with a lot of low-skill workers often have a policy to hire some "special needs" employees. It is a combination of a corporate social responsibility/PR move and a move towards tax benefits.

I'd love to see 14BC on one of those "Fix-n-Flip" shows on HGTV after Barb dies and Chris gets turfed out.
I bet the house would be less than 80k to buy, but then to clear the horde, bring everything up to code, paint and landscape everything would exceed 200K.

Ehh, there's only so much you can do to a house like 14 BC. No matter how much money you pour into it, it's only going to be worth up to a certain amount.

I'm guessing 14 BC isn't in a particularly nice or desirable neighborhood so I would say $80-$90K to buy as is. The Hoard is hauled off to the dump, the interior thoroughly updated, the plumbing and wiring brought up to code and the outside stuff like landscaping taken care of. Perhaps add a garage which is probably the best upgrade you could to to the property at this point.

A quick search on Zillow of other homes of similiar age in the Ruckersville area indicates that ones in good condition are asking in the $150K-$200K range.

But all this takes hard work, money and organizational skills that we all know Chris doesn't have. I could see Chris unloading 14 BC on a real estate investor, assuming Cole doesn't swoop in at the last minute and take everything.

EDIT: OK so I was surfing real estate listings in Ruckersville and found this house, it's literally right across the street from Chris. The layout and split level style are very, very similiar to 14 BC but obviously the place is in WAY better shape. Asking $230K (which is a good deal for any people looking to become a true Christorian)

I guess JenkinsJinkies moved out.

I still want to know (in a detached, autistic sort of way) how much of the house actually got renovated from the insurance company. Did they just take the worst of the hoard out and repair the most obvious structural damage while slapping a bit of paint on it? Did the carpeting and floorboards get replaced? Did mold get introduced anywhere? Did they just retile one part of the roof or did they fix up the entire thing? What?

I estimated a few thousand dollars for repairs earlier because it was on the assumption that as part of the post-fire fixes stuff that would not have normally been renovated was done so and the fire ended up spreading to most of the house. I mean, once the family room has water and smoke damage, you may as well redo the entire flooring/carpeting along with getting a new fan, right? I've never had a property repaired after a disaster nor do I know what kind of insurance the Chandlers had so I don't know how extensive the repairs get.

I know Barb delayed things a fair bit but the place was quite badly damaged it was more than a patch it up job I'm guessing it was just short of being that badly damaged it would have been a tear down.

He could do a series of lucrative endorsements for money. Fanta, McDonalds or Wendy's, Best Buy, Sony, I'm sure they'd all be rearing and ready to have Chris as their spokesperson.
