What’s even more fucked is that she kept shoveling more money than needed to keep him hired. She threw upwards of $60k or more thinking she could bribe Bell into getting her charges dropped. Emphasis on her, since she was more concerned with her own damaged reputation than her own son’s, even though it was shattered waaaaaaay before 2011.

Well, Jack. The social portion pf Barb's brain still worked back then. That portion of Chris' brain never worked. It would be like throwing money in a wood chipper. Even now, Chris had "fans", but he has a terrible reputation. No one respected Barb either, but she knew enough to want the respect of others and the entire Internet hasn't seen her masturbating....at least not yet.

This is a woman who's much of, or a bigger leech than her son. She spent her and Chris' inheritance on a high priced lawyer in a vain attempt to clear her name. She would not put any life insurance on herself, as that's spending money that could be spent on the horde. Chris will get nothing from his mom, which is the only gift she can ever give him. And her ego, laziness, narcissism...

She also wasn’t fully aware of how much of her personal information and life story had been publicized over the wider internet 10 years ago. She knew her son was getting harassed online but that was the extent of it (I think? I know Bob bought into the horribly incorrect belief that there was a conspiracy ran by Michael Snyder and Megan that there was a network of trolls and “sleeper agents” actively fucking with his son both IRL and over the internet. Not sure how much Barb herself knew).

Nowadays she wouldn’t give a fuck happens to her reputation— she barely leaves the house, doesn’t interact with the community or even attend church (Bob was the one usually going with Chris, not her) and all of her living relatives want nothing to do with her. Plus it’s been shown that elderly people usually mellow out around the time they enter their final years of life. Chris has been asserting himself to her more and more, and she’s been slowly putting less and less effort to try and control him.

The years of living stressfully though will eventually take it’s toll on Barb and something’s gotta give eventually. She may not have had a history of heart disease like Bob did but rest assured she probably won’t make it very far past 85. My best guess for how much time she has left falls somewhere between 4-7 years, and that’s me being generous. And Chris will most likely continue to take pictures of her to prove she’s still “alive and well” even though she’ll be literally falling apart. Whatever dignity on her deathbed she may have still had is gone.

No, the only remote possibility is that she does through prior employment, which is possible but unlikely bc from what I remember she was only a secretary

I find it remarkable that she is even alive now, but Barb will definitely not make it through the next 2 years. Barb has just become too frail for chris to adequately care for, and she (like chris) needs to be placed into a "nice community" for the twilight years of her life.

"I would not want to put my mom in a home." Once again the hypocrisy - Chris says this, but doesn't lift a finger, and when does, he stress sighs, about making living for Barb comfortable. Then again Barb for her part, is fine living in her infested home -horde and idiot son.

I would like to say that Barb's hording days are over, seeing they don't have a car to go to their regular rummage sales. One of the most famed archives of her was when Chris videotaped her sleeping on the couch, surrounded by boxes. If that isn't a visual metaphor for Barb's life, I don't know what is.
