Christine's future is better set than many wageslaves...

Even if she loses her house, she'll never be homeless as long as she takes whatever opportunities the State provides due to her autism, which will give her housing and ensure her living conditions are safe. I think that's one thing Bob taught her well on.
 
i hope christine gets to live a better life. barb and bob were both shitty parents and hopefully after she passes christine goes into care with, well- sane people.

Chris is an adult on paper. I don't know how much the state will help him unless someone gets his legal status changed. Anyone who knows about Virginia's social services, how much government aid is there available for the mentally disabled? Would a semi-tard guy like Chris get any aid at all or is it reserved for only the most tarded of the tards?

Chris is getting SSDI (or SSI) for life, or at least as long as the US government can afford paying it. He's been getting it for like 20 years now, she's long past anyone even bothering to check her status.

I'm a socially retarded autist myself that's gone through the process over the last few years as a lolcow myself, I know how this works. I can guarantee that Chris will receive services to ensure she has health care, will be forced to maintain that health care, and will have a roof over her head. She'll have, or already has, a care manager specifically working with Chris.

I think Chris will change significantly for the better once Barb's toxic influence is finally out of his life. We see how Chris mellowed and became more accepting when Bob died, and Barb is/has done far more damage. One immediate change will be the end of spending recklessly on toys and stupid shit, whether Chris likes it or not. Chris does seem to understand the value of money outside of her splurging which Barb has always enabled, and seems against and ashamed of Barb's hoarding and generally awful ways. I also assume there's a whole mess of mental issues that we aren't aware of that Barb has at least perpetrated.

Bob raised two doctors while he himself worked as an engineer for 40 years, Barb comes from a family of moonshiners one of which died falling from a horse drawn wagon. I agree Bob was a shitty parent to Chris but that's what happens when you have a kid when you are so old, Barb though fucked up Cole so bad he now hates her, you decide which is most to blame.

I still believe Bob at some point honestly tried with Chris. But Bob was older, and likely had some health issues well before him passing. So he probably just gave up, and his wife was sort of a lying sack of shit. I can only imagine part of his health decline was the rampant impulse purchasing of his wife.

I mean we see evidence of early on Bob trying to connect with Chris...but what the fuck do you do when you are well past your prime for dealing with kids, get a kid who needs extra help and understanding and you are like 'Fuck I am old bro'...and then the kid.. does crazy shit. Like crazy by any standards shit. You know, like Chris was shoving broken toys up his ass. I think Bob quit then and there on being a dad.
 
Bob was the only person on this globe who ever cared about Chris.
Whatever would happen after Barb's death it's not gonna be good, but if Chris keeps on living life as now ,then he is not gonna last longer than the mid twenties(2025)

Bob had high hopes for Chris as evidenced in his final letter to him. He wanted Chris to become famous and for sonichu to become the face of autism so the world may better understand it, he got his wish in a twisted monkeys paw kind of way.
 
I don't know what to make of Bob. Some of the things he did were so strange to the point where it seems like he was working with the trolls. The call with Julie where he like wink-winks that he knows Molvania isn't real and then goes on and on about Chris not knowing the world. Going to the date with Emily for some reason and then nowhere to be found when the pickle stuff happened. Backing Chris that his Internet heartsweets were real into the Ivy days.

Maybe Bob was just old and senile... but my theory on Chris is that he was always part trolling to maintain his gov't benefits, and Bob was the impetus behind it. Then when Chris became the Internet's biggest target ever in the late 2000s, all hell broke loose with maintaining the charade.

Oh, absolutely. But Bob was retired and probably a grandfather when Chris was born. He did try but his crazy wife probably blocked him off, as well as Chris's growing autism probably turned him off. He did what he knew and that failed because of the situation. Bob had his faults but he tried. He was from another era and just tired.

Bob was a senile old redneck who gets white-knighted because he wasn't as shitty as Barb and because Chris seems sincere in his love for the man. I can't honestly say he was a good parent, but he was at least an amusing one. Remember he was the one who got Chris on his tugboat and convinced him he'd lose it if he got a job. That's classic trailer trash.

That was only after Chris got fired from Wendy's and was getting banned from various stores. Bob knew that Chris wasn't going to be a functioning adult so he put him on the tugboat to make sure he always had some money coming in.
