I've said it before, but the CWC show just doesn't have a happy ending. This is a good time to tune out if you're squeamish.
 
So if Barb kicks the bucket, will the $115k mortgage go straight to Chris? Or does he at least have the chance to just go "fuck that" and let the bank take the house? I don't know much about what happens with unpaid mortgages when mortgagors die with survivors.

It's pretty much clear that his notoriety, poor social skills, and lack of motivation to work won't land him that hypothetical job anytime soon.

One thing is certain, though: Chris isn't going to be living there any longer. Not without a miracle.

There have been times where I feel for Chris, but thankfully by the end of the day he'll do something fucked up enough to snap me out of it

If both the mortgage and the title are in Barb's name, then the existing mortgage needs to be discharged in order for any beneficiaries to receive their share of the equity. In the real world this would mean Chris refinancing the house into his name and buying out Cole's share (if there is one) or the house being sold.

Barb *might* have insurance which will cover the mortgage when she dies.

But yes, you're under no obligation to accept an inheritance and people quite often renounce them for one reason or another.

For sure it's going to suck for him. Losing a parent sucks for anyone, nevermind someone with autism. But Chris isn't completely fucked. He still has the tugboat and some sort of support network. He'll lose the house and probably get nothing from Barb's estate but he'll still be in a better position than a lot of people. His church will probably rally around and set him up in a trailer. They'll probably occasionally check up on him still playing with his legos and posting about not socialising online.

I'm pretty sure he burned his bridge with Rocky Shoemaker et al. a long time ago. He only went to church for Bob.

I'm not sure when Chris last communicated with Rocky, but in the past Chris would reach out to her if he wanted something. So I'm sure when Barb kicks the bucket he'll immediately run to Rocky to do all the work arranging her funeral, along with fronting the costs.
 
I'm going to make the assumption that Chris doesn't know what "foreclosure" is... so when it inevitably happens not long after Barb dies, I imagine that Chris will treat it like he has just been permabanned from his own house.

Henceforth, 14 Branchland Court will be treated like it's the new GamePlace as a now homeless Chris will occasionally wander back to his former home, creepily stare through the windows, and harass the new owners (who he'll treat like they're the new Michael Snyder in his life), while screaming "THAT IS MY HOUSE!!!"... And then one of two things can happen, 1) they'll think he's a crazy stalker and call the cops, causing him to flee before they arrive, or 2) they'll think he's a crazy stalker and then shoot him.

Why do you think he burned any bridges with Rocky? Chris continued to go to church after Bob died for quite awhile.

And even after he stopped going (like a year or so after), he called Rocky up, out of the blue, to film that video he made in mcdonalds where he showed off his lego high school thing.

Can't remember my Chris chronology but didn't he suggest trolls rape her while pretending to be JenkinsJinkies? That probably ruined things a little because there's no way a ween didn't send her that.

Yes he did suggest that, even though Rocky may be a good christian I doubt she is stupid enough to get too close to someone that was looking for justification for raping her.
