I don't think Chris has ever been completely on his own during his whole life, so the idea of being all alone on a big, cold, dark and creepy house would be devastating for his childish mind.

This is what people don't realize.

People say Chris gets out and "socializes", but at the end of the day, after Barb dies, there's going to be no one around, save the cats, when he gets home.

Barb is the closest form of human contact he has. Doesn't matter if videos don't show healthy interactions, because Chris knows, Barb will put up with 95% of his bullshit.

Once that's gone. It's anyone's game.

Yeah. Chris "socializes" in the same way as solitary confinement makes prisoners go into a communal yard for an an hour a day. Chris can talk to other humans to stave off insanity. But he doesn't have any friends or relationships.

Now being serious, I can imagine Chris being bored and uninterested during the funeral and burial services, but once everything is over and he returns to his now empty house, I can see him getting scared shitless and desperately typing "HELP! HELP! HELP!" on every social media outlet available to him.

Probably he would beg Cole to take him in since they are family, and going more and more hysterical after not getting any reply, etc.

Man that was depressing to read thanks man. I actually think obviously initially Chris wil be devastated but perhaps later have a sense of freedom he's never felt , though that could lead to disaster. Like I could totally see Chris putting flyers all over town for a Lesbian party or something with his address on it and that could lead to alot of bad things.

Eventually Chris will act out in public and get arrested and then the authorities will realize the situation.

But he doesn't have any friends or relationships.

We are the closest thing that Chris has to friends, and all of his "relationships", save Barb, are with trolls, asspatters and the like.

He should be grateful that so many people have taken an interest in his weird-ass life, because if that had never happened, he would be utterly alone, with absolutely no social outlet or meaningful human contact. His bizarre behavior and appearance just scream "STAY AWAY FROM THIS PERSON!!!" Luckily for him, there are people who find him to be a fascinating specimen. From a distance, anyway...

Does anyone think the tranny thing will end after Barb passes. I have an inkling that she's somehow nurturing chris' transition into Christine.

It's possible Chris will evolve into an "it" or nongendered person. Maybe as a reaction to hair loss, he shaves off all body hair and declares the first of a new gender, along with another legal name change. I mean, at some point the "Christine" persona will feel dull and he'll have associated it with new failures, so Chris will want to shed his old form once again, create another personal ghost. Now the ghost of Christian has joined Bob, Patti, and Young Chris on the haunting grounds of 14BC.

The next level probably includes scaring the public with the Annie wig and rainbow eyeshadow, which has already happened, from what I have read.

:o

I think Chris will remain in 14BC, but without Barb as a (somewhat) grounding force his behavior will become more and more ludicrous. He'll end up in financial and legal trouble until some 3rd party steps in. At that point he might be a full on schizo paranoid cow and all entertainment value will be lost.

"If Barbara survives her illness, you will still be parted. If your debts are completed and Barbara's made better and all that you hope for comes true you will still have to taste the bitterness of mortality. Whether by her horde or the slow decay of time, Barbara will die. And there will be no comfort for you, no comfort to ease the pain of her passing. She will come to death an image of the horror of the bitches of Moms in no glory undimmed before the breaking of the world. And you, my man-child, you will linger on in darkness and in doubt as nightfall in winter that comes without a star. Here you will dwell bound to your grief under the fading trees until all the world is changed and the long years of your life are utterly spent."

Whatever happens, one thing is for certain: Barb's impending death is now a ticking time bomb.

Edit: I do feel a little afraid on Chris's behalf. As much as he doesn't understand death, this won't leave him unscathed like usual. Let's have some fitting music for the upcoming event, shall we?

I was watching the original version of Maniac from 1977 last night, and when Joe Spinell's character was talking about his relationship with his deceased mother, I couldn't help but think of Chris.

Of course, that's just fantasy. In real life, Chris will just be confused and scared, like anyone in his situation would be. I worry that he might descend into hardcore alcoholism. Something interesting to ponder, I think, is what his personality will gel into once he lacks a caregiver. He seems to adopt the mannerisms of whoever he perceives to have real authority over him; when Bob was still alive, Chris was self-righteous and accusatory, now that he's left with Barb, he's greedy (well, greedier) and conniving. The true identity of free range Chris is a mystery.

You've pretty much hit the nail on the head. Chris thinks and acts like a child. Therefore he's not capable of making responsible decisions let alone taking it. Because of this he needs someone with authority over him (like Bob did). After Bob's passing Chris got his long-lasting freedom. Without anyone to manage him he goes out of control (like any kid w/o parental supervision). Today's abomination who's named Chris is the result of granting him that freedom.

The bottomline is Chris & freedom don't mix at all.

Barb is going to die this year, most likely before November. I think she might die in her home, Chris (tries) to call the police or some emergency services, paramedics come pick up her body and just leave Chris alone. He might just stay in his house until he dies of hunger. I really dont know how these things work though when a caregiver of a mentally retarded person dies.

Barb has autism. Barb gives birth to Chris who also has autism. Barb dies, but her autism lives on and finds a new host. Does Barb's autism transfer to Chris giving him a double dose of the tism, or does it wander the rural roads and comic book stores of Ruckersville for a unfortunate host?

It would transfer to the nearest host that was trained in the Autistic Ways, granting them its power. So yes, Chris would then gain the Autistic Queen power in addition to the Autistic Princess power, and himself become Barb, meaning that he'll have to find someone else to take the Autistic Princess mantle and eventually turn into the new Chris.
