What Have You Cooked Recently?

A week's worth of breakfast burritos with turkey sausage, mushrooms, egg whites and cheese in the freezer.

Enchiladas and made the sauce from scratch. Dunno if it’s much better than the stuff from a can for a buck, but they turned out great.

Rice vermicelli 'salad' with cucumber, bell pepper, egg, peanuts and soy sauce.

I'd usually just fry the noodles with some soy & egg & veggies but I was too lazy - so 'salad' it was.

Sweet potato and ham pierogies. Roasted red onion, pineapple sour cream.

Last night was a chicken saltimbocca. It was fucking magical if I do say so myself. There's something about the combination of chicken, prosciutto, sage, wine and butter that is everything right with the world.

spinach and cheese ravioli with walnut sage butter and balsamic vinegar reduction. It’s dumb as shit to say it all together, and alone the components are fine, but combined it just does something and it’s so delicious and perfect.

Thai green curry, extra hot. I made the paste from scratch, which was rewarding in itself.

Shakshuka which is a tomato sauce with eggs, I added mushrooms and goat cheese. Turned out great!

My first attempted Ratatouille. Eggplant, zucchini, squash and tomatoes. I made a roasted red pepper garlic sauce instead of the traditional tomato. (I don't like tomato very much.) All vegetables from my garden which felt pretty good.

Pizza bianca with various cheese and spring onions. Way too greasy but so delicious.

I was cooking spaghetti - until my apartment lost power an hour ago. Now I am wallowing in self pity over my first world problems while eating a sandwich that is somewhat less exciting than spaghetti.

Gumbo. First time, not bad.
Also aglio e olio pasta. Simple and delicious.

I ate some Maruchan ramen but decided to be slightly less lazy so I threw in some chopped onion, spinach(right before eating), and an egg. I don't know why but it was weirdly great and I'm holding myself back from making some more of it.

Not feeling well. I boiled water and added beef stock, some noodles, vinegar, garlic, carrot, cabbage, and some noodles.

I made katsu last week and that pork was money, especially with tonkatsu sauce.

made another batch of the hot dogs in croissants, this one I folded some horseradish in with the hot dog before baking it

Potato and leek soup with black pepper hardtack. Medieval but tasty.
