This is customizable as well, you could add chillies to spice it up, change your cheese or make it gluten free! I've made for a few other people and this is the current fave so far lmao.
Sounds like the cornerstone of any nutritious breakfast.
 
I just tossed a few pounds of "flaken" cut short ribs from the Mexican market in the sous vide for 24 hours before the grill. I really love the marinade from the Mexican grocery store. It's achiote paste based. Next week I'm going to make the marinade myself and give it a try. Any advice would be appreciated.
 
I made chicken pot pie pasta to eat on for a few days, it’s one of my favorite lazy meals.

Right now celebrating my cure from a bad flu with a yuge sandwich

Provolone, salami, lettuce, aioli and vinager peppers (both prepped by myself). The peppers taste nice, though they've not been cured long enought (started them saturday), but i simply couldn't not resist the jar there taunting me
 
A week or two ago, I got to try Ribbon Loaf. If any of you watch Tasting History, he did an episode on SPAM, and the recipe he highlighted was ribbon loaf. Cut the SPAM into strips, and make a cream-cheese-and-onion spread to put in between the strips, press it together, and put in the fridge overnight. Better than it sounds actually. Makes me wonder if you could blend it and make a pretty good sandwich spread with it.
 
Steamed shrimp seasoned with old bay, a t-bone steak, brussel sprouts fried in bacon grease, and scalloped potatoes.


A birdsnest (an egg cooked inside a piece of toast)

A pulled pork bbq sandwich on brioche buns and Mac n cheese. (Mac n cheese was from the deli so I didn't technically cook it)

Soft-cooked eggs over grilled sourdough slices. And pre-prepared tiny pizza crusts with fresh tomatoes and marinated artichoke hearts buried under mozzarella.
 
Sometimes the universe sends you a sign that it is time to act, a sign that points you to your next great move in life. Today the universe converged so that there were two browning bananas on my counter, exactly 1/4 cup of buttermilk left in the fridge, and a bottle of peanut butter whisky that I bought on a whim the other day. (It's very good, though very sweet. It might make a fabulous iced coffee addition)

I mashed the bananas with 2 tablespoons of whisky and let it sit for a while before proceeding with my standard banana bread procedures.

Made mushroom soup. Made with a bit of tallow-sauteed onions and garlic, and it came out with a rather addictive flavor. Would definitely make again on a really cold, snowy day.
 
I was going to originally attempt ramen, but I wasn't actually craving it and made a simple cabbage-potato soup instead. Chopped up baby bella mushrooms, green onion, some local cabbage, potatoes and threw it into boiling water with a knob of butter and some leftover seasoning mixes (some "umami ramen" blend, montreal chicken seasoning, black pepper.. chicken boullion). I had dried fenugreek leaves sitting around, saw it was used in a bunch of indian soups/stews and tossed it in there around the last minute. It's absolutely delicious, passed the smell test and I feel a sense of pride buying stuff grown locally and making a good, healthy meal with it.
 
Made an Apple cake.
Second time doing it and I feel more comfy doing it.

These days it's also a money thing.

It might be difficult to get a recipe right on the first try. That's normal.
Some people (because of the cost) might be scared to try that same thing a second time.

My usual rule is to do a recipe the first time exactly by the book and then (after deciding whether it is even worth doing) tweaking it to my tastes.
