I am getting better with those. The trick is no to just caramelize apples beforehand, but to do it in baking mold without covering them in syrup , since the top will get crispy and will have easier time sticking to the dough. I'll try to slice them thicker next time.

Steak and baked potatoes with a side of spinach. Steak is gonna just be basic salt, pepper, and garlic powder and cooked in a pan. Baked potatoes will be loaded with sour cream, butter, and cheese. Spinach will be stir fried in the beef drippings and sprinkled over with leftover bacon I didn't use in the omelets last night.

one question for kiwis: would you eat my salmon and fried rice?!? cause i can’t finish it all and would like to share :)

You need to contextualize but that's definitely some edible shit. Like, I'd eat it, at least if it looked in reality better than that picture. Which it almost certainly did.
yeah i have cave lighting and need to use ominous flash lighting

and if by contextualize you mean explain, it’s fried rice with garlic, onion, green onion, egg, teriyaki, oyster sauce, edamame. kind of done it off the top of my head and it wasn’t bad other than a bit too much garlic

SO and I had some uncooked squid ink pasta laying around, so we made a seafood scampi out of it with some garlic, parmesan cheese, butter, green onion, and some frozen shrimp. It was insanely tasty, and if I can get to a World Market, I'll make it again. It'd be even better if we had squid meat and a small jar of squid ink to use as well.

Just pointing out that I'd eat the hell out of that shit. Also, to be sort of on-topic, had another bowl of whatever weird nutritional stuff I could throw into basmati rice.

Sushi...kind of. I don't want to fuck around with supermarket raw fish so I cook some white fish (or prawns if I have them), shred it up, mix with mayo and sriracha and use that as the filling for the sushi rolls. Add whatever I have on hand as extra filling, avocado today other times omelette or some green onions.

I don't know if this is a thing that has a name or if I'm just a tard jamming random ingredients into sushi rolls. Comes out pretty tasty though.
Kimbap, sometimes known as Korean sushi, has other fillings like you described, including meats and cheeses. Snap a pic next time. I've posted a few of my previous sushi sessions. Going to be making it again a week or so.

Drunken double cheeseburgers because 'Murica. The presentation sucks but this is about the taste. Aways season the patties while they cook with salt, pepper, and then a signature flavor like garlic or paprika.

I baked white kielbasa in the oven with cabbage, apples and bacon then had some mashed potatoes on the side.

I'm kind of bummed out I can't be with my family for Easter this year so I've just been making Polish Easter food all week.

I also made this horseradish and beet relish that I love on cured meats and to have on my hardboiled eggs. Traditionally you just boil and grate the beets but I cooked mine lightly then fermented them beforehand this year and it came out really good.

if it's just for yourself and you don't care about the having a sushi roll presentation, make it poke bowl to save on prep time, imo.

A bit more work with your hands and you could have onigiri that way. I know seafood and mayo is a common combination as far as fillings go, and they can be decently filling as a food.

I had a hankering for fried onion burgers, but I didn't have any bread. I did have some leftover buttermilk pancakes from two day ago though. Made the burger and instead of ketchup I coated two pancakes with some maple syrup. Slice of American cheese on top. Shit was so cash. Had it at 11 AM, so I call it Sunday Brunch Burger.

I made some pretty bomb lookin brioche buns with this recipe: http://bakerstreet.tv/2012/07/bread-101-brioche-tang-zhong-method-湯種/

I also used some old buttermilk in the tang zhong instead of water, so my roux was a little thicker, I was able to knead in twice the amount of butter it called for (6T as opposed to 3), since brioche is a buttery bread anyway, and just worked with the dough until it looked and felt right, and they are amazingly soft. Although with that high percentage of butter, it didnt really rise a whole lot, but buns, you dont really need them to.
