I'd agree with you on that. Protesting his funeral could only not only make the gay-rights side sink into the WBC level of being a jerk but it could also reinforce whatever "us vs. them" mentality WBC has if they will still be around after Phelps kicks the bucket. For all we know, one of them might take up the position as a leader after Fred was excommunicated. Besides they do need to sink into obscurity. They don't need anymore acknowledgements or notice.Also, in a fit of totally uncharacteristic pacifism, I hope no one protests his funeral. Well as one poster said, Fred Phelps is passing away as we speak. He could die either today or within the next few days.How long has he got? Months, Weeks? Days?
