Frankly, social media in general felt like a slog to scroll through after Trump got elected and it lasted throughout his entire presidency (and still lasts to this day thanks to covid). The 2016 election broke a lot of people, and a lot of those people happened to be terminally online and will never shut up about the Orange Man until the end of time. 2014 was probably the last year I really enjoyed going online tbh
It does kinda feel like that was the last time that even though mainstream media was on the internet it didn't feel saturated or contaminated. Even though social media had gotten fully invested in the internet it didn't get turned into whatever political shitshow it is now. I remember back in that time period ( fuck i feel old ) that the things I did back then were still unironic and in the spirit of the internet. Not so much to make political stances or do anything other than be a fashion statement. Nowadays you have to have all this identity shit and some sort of political stance, ideology or pronouns or whatever. While it may not be the wild west of back in the mid 2000s ( like this site is of course ) it still wasn't full of itself.

2010 and from there on was almost like neverending hellscape for me. The wokes, the troons and self-righteous jews online gloating, eternally smug yet so off the mark about anything they are supposedly well-informed about, I constantly came across these dimwits if I was in social media or average forums. It was irritating to be in english speaking forum for me. I could only speak my mind in far-right fringe forums until I found kiwifarms. Elsewhere I had to choose my words very carefully or risk getting warnings and suppressed engagements. And the arguments were all just owning each other, so much snarks and logical fallacies. Unlike a lot of you here, it felt like an eternity. God how I wish this period was fucking blur.

With the 2020s being so much worse I'm almost nostalgic for the 2010s but I also hated every moment of that horrid decade when I was living through it.

I immediately noticed something was off when the 2010s started. I was on a lot of nerd forums (gaming, DnD, warhams etc) and like a plague a cult-like mindset spread across all communities, warping people into snarling hateful beasts. I didn't understand what I was seeing at the time but I knew it was something utterly wrong so I refused to change and as a result I was banned from most places (including SomethingAwful).

It felt like a lonely decade, watching people join the far-left cult, the old internet dying and "social media" being born (the name surely being a joke as all Silicon Valley sites are designed to be as unsocial as possible). Dating sites also died and in came Tinder etc. Anti-bullying and censorship rules were pushed in month after month. Everything became utilitarian, clinical, ugly to look at.

Outside of the internet it was frustrating to see the people around me blind to the obvious corruption. Third wave feminism, Marxism, BLM, Antifa, Anti-white brainwashing, multi-culturalism, and more, all of this stuff was highly visible in the media, and it was showing up in our neighborhoods, yet everyone ignored it and would treat me like I was crazy for noticing it.

The only good thing about the decade was learning what is happening to the west, why it is happening, and most importantly (((who)))✡️ is doing this. It's nice to see that day by day it's becoming common knowledge that Jews are working towards making all white groups extinct. This could be our last decade.

"Uterus owner", "systemic racism", "mindfulness" and "plant based" echoes through my mind as the most annoying terms of the mid 2010's. That shit! What the fuck? How are they gonna call a woman a uterus owner and not a woman? And that rabbit food plant based vegan shit that was being promoted back then was ridiculous. It was all over instagram and YouTube.

I remember the litany of "PC friendly" language we had to use or was promoted for use. It was just ridiculous. No wonder that entire cultural movement perished.

With Current Year being a blur -- thankfully so -- it seems like Biden was not president for very long. Like Trump's been in office for awhile with a little break recently.

A blur? No. But there was a radical shift halfway through that I wasn't a fan of. Problem is that it refuses to die and it's adherents refuse to take the L and learn some perspective and as a result this decade has mostly been the same shite.
I hope it dies and we get good times where the spiteful mutants and jammed back into the box and that box is set on fire.

neverending hellscape

What the fuck?
a radical shift
The endless "woke" BS of Current Year also feels so "astroturfed" or forced somehow, instead of evolving naturally.

I also do not like how a number of rational and critical thinking people became SJW cultists, because of "woke" BS.

I spent most of the 2010s having babies. The last big thing I remember on the news was the McCann disappearance, other than that the world was largely still normal, things were an bit busy and distracted for a few years and then it was like I looked up and everything was insane.
