Wendigoon Thread

Had a long car drive so I listened to this:

I find it very ironic that Wendigoon, the guy who got famous for doing the "don't believe the government" larp, is taking what the incredibly corrupt Brazilian government and police is saying at face value. There is a lot of weird shit surrounding the case from what he talks about, like him somehow moonlighting as a drug kingpin and nobody fucking knowing somehow, having a known crook around him for no reason he uses for executions, the crook getting off for crimes until just the right moment for a case to be built, lots of threats and violence by the police towards people involved. Or raiding the guy's house and finding ridiculously self incriminating evidence laying around for no reason.

What, Netflix did a show on how he is at fault, so wendie can't even entertain the idea the case might be more complicated?

Very good point. I'm not sure why gooner has softened on this aspect. I'm sure it's because he's afraid of his fans. But who cares? Doesn't he have enough money to not have to cater to them? Either he is a coward, or greedy, or just dumb and doesnt realize his incoherent worldview

Probably that there isn't any gains in being contrarian on the matter. It's not American enough where you can win political points by playing the blame game. Nobody gives a shit about political corruption in Brazil, and people would rather have their black and white "TV show arranged assassinations for ratings" to have a chuckle on how crazy that place is, than actually care about the truth.

This is what it looks like when a man who uses phonics and really likes to do research attempts the subject; I have never heard of any of these cryptids before.

I like Dime Store Adventures. It's summer so it makes sense for him to be sitting outside, but he will narrate videos in a parka when necessary.

This was an awesome recommendation. You could tell he really researched everything. It was also refreshing that he wasn't trying to hype up each cryptid as the scariest monster ever.

Ps. I saw the Carter Snake! It was selling cigarettes to wayward youth near the lake!

At least those movies have nuance. The first one doesn't really sugarcoat or even really glorify BOPE when you think about it and the sequel is even more nuanced on the subject. That degenerate TheAlmightyLoli was right about it being proto Narcos.

I concur with this being a great rec. One of my favourite videos of all time is assembling obscure New England cryptids like an NBA team.

It's funny because that same gray morality is in both series of Narcos.

I watched the gemini home entertainment episode, I've been wanting them to cover it forever but they turned the audio down so low I couldn't even hear most of the music or even audio it's known for and hunter was blatantly looking at his phone the whole time totally uninterested except for a few of the more interesting parts. Isiah looked like shit in the ad, probably because he's a new dad and doesn't get much sleep. The mustard part was fun at least.

A bit of a disaster how the music kept them from uploading on yt

The episode was surprisingly fun. CreepTV has been a mixed bag, so I'm surprised it turned out as well as it did, but I don't understand why they bother releasing these episodes on audio platforms. Even though they read most of the text, I wouldn't be able to follow along without watching. It's really a shame the youtube upload got nuked, I had to watch it on spotify, which I don't use normally. I'd like to see other CreepTV episodes, but since they always turn out to be a clusterfuck, I wouldn't be shocked if this was the last one.
 
I thought this was the best episode they’ve done in a long time. I noticed several typos in the videos and I wonder if the creator put them there intentionally. It was too bad that it didn’t really have an ending but maybe the creator is returning to it?

EDIT: The Urban Spook episode of Creep TV is one of my favorite episodes where they covered something terrible.

I recently watched podcast with Meat and after that I honestly think that Wendigoon is more progressive then meat. When his camera guy talked about being gay he switched between looking like he was dying and the picture of Gobbels when he meets a jew.

In his defense, most of the time when he was doing that it was during the "slide show with text" portion.
