I'm sick of this gay ass AI argument.
The people arguing against it all seem like limp wristed faggots.
AI is similar to Autotune. It was overused and gimmicky, but I guarantee most people have a song by T-Pain they like. The "All or nothing" shit is retarded.
I don't care about the use of AI as long as someone's not passing it off as their own honest-to-god work. It's kind of like lip-synching or a homeless guy "playing" a violin when he's just pantomiming a recording. There's a ton of interesting and fun AI work, like Floydbot, the Shape Store, or "The Archive in Between," but they're transparent about AI usage. The key is transparency same as autotune, you know?

No one is transparent about using autotune outside of the T-Pain type examples where it's being used as an effect and undeniable. The vast majority of artists use it because they suck and don't write to their range and then pass it off as their honest voice. You can really notice it with rock and metal artists because when live the songs are always tuned down half a step at the least.
AI will hit the same point. We're already being shown AI shit that's surprisingly convincing if you don't know what to look for. The better the tech gets and the more sophisticated the users of it get, the harder it'll be to distinguish. Sooner than later we're gonna end up with the same situation of autotune where everyone uses it, it's an open secret, and no one acknowledges it unless they get caught red handed like Milli Vanilli lip syncing. Something that's also extremely prevalent in music.

Autotune is also very old and basic bitch, what you usually do is go in with melodyne and jank around on the vocal track until it fits the rest of the song.

And it also happens live (iirc rob swire had some funny reddit comment about being nervous at live shows because of all the linux boxes backstage running VSTs in wine).

I did, I just went by what he said in the video, I don’t read his twitter.

I don't know anything about Kane’s work outside of his series or Ready or Not (aside from it being a video game that was censored at some point). So I don’t know anything about what you’re saying to have an opinion.

One note though, the podcast thumbnails don’t use AI. After being accused, the artist posted breakdowns on Reddit how they were made. The background is made in blender or some other equivalent, while the foreground is a combination of stock images, and heavily edited photos of Goon and Meat. I also thought they were AI due to the… “sheen” or whatever they have, but the posts I’ve seen disprove it enough to me.
What kind of gay logic is it, there is no real difference in using Blender or AI to remove faults/sharpen images. You're using some mathematical formula to shift some values without changing the content.

If you're reductionist enough there's no difference between a word processor and an LLM either, it's just algorithms converting some input (key IDs or tokens) to text.

It's all bitching because a good chunk of perpetually online people decided to base their entire career on busywork that can be entirely done by a mathematical formula.
And white-collar work is just daycare for women, or whatever the headline was.

It's one reason I'm not overly afraid of "AI stealing our jerbs", it's not like a significant chunk of jobs haven't been redundant (or negatively impacts overall productivity) or possible to automate for a long time.

Hunter now using scam app sponsorships. You guys make like 100k a month already why even do this shit?

AI can't extrapolate and can easily get stuck in predictive loops. If your job requires the smallest bit of thinking then you're in the clear.

A lot of their sponsors are sketchy. Mainly all the supplement peddlers. I could understand a smaller channel whoring out to keep the lights on, but they are highly likely to eventually catch shit for peddling a scam like BetterHelp a decade ago.

If Meat was an up and coming channel yeah I agree it would be fine but when they make as much as they do? Totally unacceptable imo. Just disrespectful to your audience.

The issue with their patreon is they turned off the indicator of how many of their 66k members are actually paying. Most recent top rated post on their patreon has 3.4k likes, so at a bare minimum they're making 17k per month off this one patreon.

Meatcanyon's personal patreon also peaks at around 3k likes at anywhere from $1-5 per month.

Whilst looking for Wendigoon's patreon to compare I noticed a few reddit threads mentioning how he shut his down at 1 million subscribers because he didn't need people giving him money anymore. It makes me wonder how much of Creepcast's scummy business practices come directly from Hunter.

Wait a minute, your telling me that Wendigoon is making so much money that he SHUT DOWN his patreon?
Also only 3k? Didn't spoony make more than that? Is that why he hasn't updated his store in a while?

Yeah, his patreon was bringing in 240k/year when he shut it down. It's been gone since before I found him which was probably 3 years ago
Yeah it was either late 2020/2021 he shut it down, so pretty early on. He made a video with his now wife talking about it saying he felt he had enough and it would be greedy to keep it going or something along those lines. It was really surprising to see him make that much money to begin with, because he had only been doing YouTube for about a year and a half at that point, meanwhile I see other YouTubers patreons who have them going for years make nowhere near the amount of money he was raking in doing iceberg vids and shit.

Hard to put the blame purely on Meat as they are business partners. The situation changed a lot since Wendi shut down his patreon. Back then his channel blowing up and getting big sponsors I can see him being humble and turning down easy money because he was only really taking care of himself. But once he got married and has a kid, it is harder to justify turning down easy money as he "needs" it for his family. Wendi started a slop channel purely to make more money and I doubt he ever raised any ethical concerns to Hunter about maintaining the Patreon because that money is going to pay off his house and Tonka's college fund.

I remember when Youtubers used to make a Patreon as an alternative to having to shill products for money. It used to be a way to not be a sell out whore and to not have to rely on ads no one wanted to see.
