I hate to defend Meat buuut let's not act like Wendigoon isn't one. He's over here making hit pieces on why Angel Engine is evil for using AI but is willing to play a game based on it? Plus I would bet money on some of his scripts on the other channels have AI.
You are right though one of them will snake the other. It's just a toss up on who will do it first.

The spider episode dragged on because of Goon needing to take a moment to squee about the icky spooders every 5 minutes. Especially the Orb Weaver fixation. Harmless spiders. All they do is make big webs. Fucking love em. Used to have a pair of them that made their home next to my porch under my porch light. Was a sweet gig we had set up.

I haven't listened to a full episode in months because they always do this. Either stopping the momentum of the story for Wendi to go "oh maaaai gawd guise I luv luv luv this it's soooo goood" or Meat stopping to say it sucks or do a very very unfunny joke that overstays it's welcome. Very rarely they do hit a stride where it can be both genuinely thrilling and also funny, and I feel with time it just became rarer and rarer as they ran out of good material.
Either the stories are good and they ruin it by either missing obvious sub-text (first example that comes to mind is them completely missing the cat POV story in that Reddit ARG which to be fair didn't ruin the story or anything but I got sort of MATI at it as they just kept missing it) or pausing to just gush. Both of them do this, Wendi is a whore for anything biblical and Meat for anything body horror. If the story has either of those thrown in, I assure you they will stop every two sentences to talk about how wow that's soooo cool. Or the stories are so bad I can't understand why they would even feature it. The "so bad it's funny" schtick does literally nothing for me, because they try to be hecking wholesome instead of just telling the author to kill themselves. Those stories always overstay their welcome as well. Jeff the Killer was an alright episode because it was blissfully short. I tried to listen to the Happy Appy episode after reading this thread but it just goes on and on and on forever.
On the topic of their intelligence they're both genuinely retarded. Wendi has that "hey I recognized that, I saw the thing and clapped" about anything biblical, but otherwise the general idea of themes and subtext is usually lost of him. Meat is the reverse where he can appreciate visuals and atmosphere but can't follow a basic plot to save his fucking life. His humor is also incredibly hit or miss. You'd think that would be a great dynamic with them both explaining and giving completely different perspectives but they just seem to be on totally different wavelengths sometimes and it made my wonder why they even bother.
I really liked the pod when they featured good stories, at a solid length, and paced it well. Their discussions also generally were far more interesting before, where they could give personal anecdotes, theories and banter well. Which is what I was there for, if not why not just read the story without their commentary. I dropped it when that all seemed to drastically stoop in quantity. Same is true for Wendigoons channel in general. I haven't seen him cover a topic he actually cares about it a solid year. Guess the passion is gone, which is understandable it happens with time when you make it a career I guess. Thanks for coming to my ted talk

I'm not anti-AI by any stretch, but I don't want an AI version.
I think that Blood Meridian has enough name-recognition and associated prestige that actors would be willing to take the potential risk as long as an upper echelon director was attached.

His argument about Angel Engine wasn't that its use of AI was evil, it was that the bones of a good story were there, but it was held back by AI. He was turned off initially because it used AI visually, as a lot of people are, but he actually kind of liked the story once he sat down and watched it. The issue with Angel Engine is that the AI visuals are inconsistent, thereby making it sometimes impossible to understand what's actually going on. Characters sometimes look like entirely different (or new) ones, speak in entirely different voices, and there's no reliable setting imagery to base any assumptions on from context clues. It makes the whole story really fever-dreamy and you have to keep going "wait, who's that? what's happening?" I tried watching it when discussions first started popping up and I couldn't parse what the fuck was going on. The parts of the story that were actually done by humans were halfway decent, and at the very least, understandable.
Meat hasn't snaked him yet, I don't think he will. Goon already dodged one cancellation attempt from that retarded faggot, In Praise of Shadows, and Meat still worked with him. Some of the stuff IPOS brought up was true, like Goon trying to take credit for founding the Boogaloo Boys, which he admitted and apologized for. If Meat was as performatively lib as people think, an association with a so-called white nationalist extremist movement should've been enough for him to consider goon radioactive from the get-go. The two of them have nothing to gain and more to lose by fucking up their relationship with each other. Creepcast is low-effort, high-reward, guaranteed money for the both of them. It might go on for way longer than it should and not be entertaining anymore, but that won't keep retards from watching every episode long after both of them have checked out.

Spiders are cool. I mean I don't like them but I realize they have an important role. They eat flies and other pests. Also if you kill a spider wives tale says it will rain so that's cool. Dragonflies are also creepy looking as shit but without them the mosquito population would be worse than imaginable.
Now grasshoppers/locusts? fuck that. Those things are terrifying to me. Acridophobia is way more understandable than Aracnophobia.

He literally calls generative AI a cancer and an insult to God and the human soul. But no comment about AI use in things he is a fan of like Ready or Not, or in his big Backrooms video he shouted out the AI generated song Kane made and even his own fucking podcast uses AI thumbnails.
His critique of Angel Engine was insanely hypocritical and extremely out of touch because his advice to the creator was "just sell merch and hire a studio of artists instead of using AI" like that is an option after he poisoned the well for a massive part of the potential customer base. That whole drama still makes me very MATI and Wendi can be a massive cunt when he thinks it is an acceptable target.

I did, I just went by what he said in the video, I don’t read his twitter.
I don't know anything about Kane’s work outside of his series or Ready or Not (aside from it being a video game that was censored at some point). So I don’t know anything about what you’re saying to have an opinion.
One note though, the podcast thumbnails don’t use AI. After being accused, the artist posted breakdowns on Reddit how they were made. The background is made in blender or some other equivalent, while the foreground is a combination of stock images, and heavily edited photos of Goon and Meat. I also thought they were AI due to the… “sheen” or whatever they have, but the posts I’ve seen disprove it enough to me.

He uses stock images and photos of the hosts to compose the image then use generative AI to bring the image together and make it cohesive.

It isn't according to the artist, but that's according to the artist. I saw a more cohesive post on their reddit a while back showing a handful of the thumbnails layer-by-layer; however, this is what I could find easily. You could be right, I could be right, or we could both be half right, who knows.

I am right. He admits he uses AI upscaling and inpainting in his workflow.
Both of which are generative AI. As I said before he uses the stock photos to compose the image and get it close to what he wants then uses AI to bring the image together and make it cohesive. That is what he means when he says he uses an "upscaler". Once he gets the rough draft done, he passes it through AI to clean it up and add details. He only started walking it back when Wendi accidentally started a Butlerian Jihad with his Angel Engine video.

Granted, I think upscaling is a different beast than it being wholly generated, but using it to add in details is disingenuous when you keep going on about how you “definitely don’t use AI.”
