I'm very annoyed. Ever since 1.1, the game crashes on launch.

The mods are still messed, if your using the Mod Launcher just make sure to turn it off for now. There should be a toggle in the UI to disable mods.

If you're playing a heavily modded game...well your kinda fucked for now. It takes weeks sometimes for the modders to catch up.

The game won't even launch. I do run it via proton/linux so I'm sure that's part of it. I had like 2 mods that only affected how you build and didn't actually add anything new.

hmm that's weird. When I got that bug the game had no issues launching but it crashed when I loaded into the world but I did have to disable every mod to make it work.

Hate to say it but you might have re-install the game.

Maybe check out the https://questions.satisfactorygame.com/ help page to see if they got any similar issues reported

Coffee Stain has said that console will be out Nov 4th...probably. Most likely. Could maybe happen.

Some small fixes and tweaks will come with that patch. No notes yet sadly.

Kinda grumpy that CS gave the trailer to IGN to release. IGN needs to DIAF so I dunno why they go the reveal instead of dropping on the CS channel like they normally do.

My autism makes me point out that this trailer has the sin of belt clipping several times, I guess whomever made it was either a bit lazy or trying to piss off some of their audience as it's just mostly reused patch teasers.

I checked again and there was an update to one of the mods and I re-validated and it seemed to launch! Now to remember what I was doing before (besides running out of power)

Eventual power grid failures from reliance on fuel (which produces byproduct) for power and chaining production lines together without organization and intelligent resource utilization has fucked me. I tripled my coal power but I'm stretching the output of the resource nodes.

yah I'd bounce from depending on coal asap.

Go the diluted fuel then turbo fuel route until you hit nukes or just keep going from turbo fuel to rocket fuel to ionized fuel. The dev's did a good job making both routes equal in power output.

Hell I'm running a rocket fuel set up that gives me 175K MW just to bootstrap me into nukes because I love the complicated nuke recycling set up but you don't gotta go down that route. Rocket fuel even gives you back half the compacted coal you used to make the turbo fuel so you can feed that back into the system or just use it for more steel production. You can never have enough steel.

Remember Fiscit does not waste, turn that polymer into plastic or rubber with water. Trust me you can never have enough oil products the factory is a hungry hungry beast.

I guess CS is back from their month long vacations...I really need to think about moving to where ever they are that 30 day vacations are just part of the standard contract.

Either way nothing big on this Dev Update aside from the fact they will do less Updates; only when something big is about to drop and do more small scale social media shit. No game info or anything was dropped.

Fiscmas will be the same this year as last year because they want the console dweebs to experience it first before they think about changes. Some anniversary event will happen on Sept 10th to celebrate 1 year of 1.0. Has it been a year already...fuck where does the time go. Nothing else of interest was said as far as the game goes.

I can't help but notice the AIDS Rainbow flag placed very noticeably in this video, it saddens me greatly that a studio whose games I enjoy is probably chock full of faggots. I know I should be surprised that some Eurocuck studio is thoroughly pozzed but it still is sad to have confirmation.

Oh well, sometimes you get the bear and sometimes the bear fucks you I guess.

I started yet another playthrough a few weeks ago, this being my 2nd after 1.0 (wow, it's been almost a year since it dropped?)

I decided to spice things up and instead of a solo playthrough, I got my friend to join me. This was my first time trying the game in multiplayer, and besides a few bugs like ghost objects or weird collision making you fall through an entity if you're standing on top of it, the game actually runs pretty smoothly. Playing with someone else made the game a lot easier, since two players doing their own individual tasks gets more done in shorter time period compared to doing all of it alone. Especially in early game, the other person could focus on gathering resources or connecting belts from miners to factories, meanwhile the other would focus on building the factory. While I'm horrible at making cool looking builds or decorating factories, my friend was really good at it, and on the other hand he wasn't as good at calculating production rates or planning the amount of materials required that the factories needed, I was better at that task. This meant we were able to combine our strengths to get much better end results on whatever we were doing.

We're currently at the last space elevator phase, which is the farthest we both have gotten. I haven't spoiled myself on the end game at all besides what I already learned in my first 1.0 playthrough, so those tier 9 milestones and remaining MAM research tasks have been exciting to discover. Finally being able to recycle those tens of thousands of plutonium waste currently sitting in a storage container is such a useful addition, but portals I don't find much use for since our hypertube cannons have been reliable method of travel ever since we unlocked them.

Ignoring all of those factories we spent dozens of hours on, the thing I am most proud of was teaching him that he doesn't need a script to manually craft things since all you can do is just press down the spacebar once. His mind was blown, and mine as well after realizing this was his 3rd playthrough already. He also taught me how to build diagonal walls, which I didn't even know was possible.

Ok Coffee Stain dropped a surprise patch on retail yesterday and I dunno what it did but...

Pipes work now, new UI and everything. I guess they actually listened. You still get sloshing but it's much easier to see and control.
building seems much better, the snapping is much more intuitive and no longer seems to want to wrap around to itself.
and they dropped the radiation effect unless your at max levels, thank jebus.

I'm sure there is other stuff in there but that's what I've noticed so far.

Over all everything seems...nicer. I dunno what exactly they did, no patch notes yet, but damn I like it.

Just in time too as I start to work on the Red Forest Central Processing Facility for my Nuke Pasta.

1.0 1 year anniversary event is on, check it out for a new free mix tape for the boom box

oy vey diluted fuel to turbo fuel to rocket fuel plant number 3 completed at last.

At this point why am I even bothering with nukes?

Because it is cool looking!

dammit Mandrake your right. It will look cool and for that I will slog through.

I think that's why I love this game so much, I like Factorio because of the complexity but it lacks the sense of scale and grandeur that Satisfactory has. I like my Factorio factory but it's ugly and flat. I love my Satisfactory factory because it's so cool looking and fun to run around and I know that I placed every single fucking item down myself unlike Factorio where 50% of my factory was just auto assembled by my bot network.

There is a sense of...satisfaction wandering through my factory and admiring my own handiwork. I just hope I don't hurt my arm patting myself on the back.

I built a computer/h.s.connector/c.board factory over the last week using the crystal computer recipe and the two silicon board recipes. That was a lot of fun.

Getting enough production for the oscillators was by far the most time consuming aspect.

I have really started to love the steamed copper sheet recipe. It is so useful.

In your opinion are the pure ingot recipes of any use? I always look at them but never actually try them.

Like everything it depends.

If you have the spare power then the pure recipes are just amazing. They can triple your output or more for just a little extra water plus the time to build the extra machines and pipes. So if you need lots of copper/iron and don't want to belt in another node they're great but if does come at a cost of more set up time and a lot more power. Dem refineries be pretty power hungry beasties.

I always use the pure Caterium recipe just because Cat becomes so needed late game and end game but it's rare. The pure Cat process will give you one third more ingots which helps but I go the step further and use the leached recipe with sulphuric acid to double the ingot output. By late game you don't really need compacted coal because your hopefully into nukes or rocket fuel by then so that sulphur can be re-directed to other uses and you can never have enough quickwire.

On the downside you'll get sick to death of building refineries. Already they're the most used machine in the game and by the time you set up your 10,000th one you'll be quite tired of em. It's not that the set up is hard, it's just the same slog time and time again. Gets boring quickly.

Ultimately in Satisfactory complexity + more power = more output. So if you got the power and the ability to set up the chains I'd go for it. You'll spend less time belting raw ore around and a pure copper node will output over 1500 ingots per min all for 40 refiners and 400 water. That's quite a deal IMHO if you can afford the extra power draw.

Personally I always go the more complex route just because it's more challenging. I use the stupidly annoying quartz refining recipes to get 3 times the quartz crystals and a tonne of silica for my aluminum process which in turn nets me twice as much aluminum ingots to use. (this is why my non nuke factory needs around 120,000 MW to work...so many refineries) It's just very finicky trying to feed back in the water to keep the system balanced. You really need to know how to build a priority fluid input system to make it work well.

Or you can always just cheat and pump the output water into a Pure Iron or Copper set up and sink the extra ingots if your feeling lazy. That works too and you will have the extra ingots to play with later on when copper becomes the most important resource in the game. Fuck copper powder...fuck it to hell.

If you have the spare power
I think you will agree with me since we both play this game a lot, but power is not even an issue unless I forget. People that cry about not having enough power make me laugh. Obviously I will help them but it is such an easy issue to fix.

Especially mid game when you can crank out a lossless turbo generator with ease.

yup 100% agree.

but I too have seen some Let's Player's who try to run coal for far too long but if you build on a large scale like I do even a diluted fuel power plant can get overwhelmed by the middle of tier 4 if your going big into a recycled plastic/rubber set up thanks to all those refineries.

I guess the dev's wanted power to be a hard cap but went really really soft on it for some reason. I know Satisfactory is not made to be really challenging what with all the short cuts and hand feeding you can do to beat the game but I really think it should be a touch more challenging over all.

I mean with a diluted fuel set up on a single 300 oil node you can crank out like 55,,000 MW. I'd say for the average player who just wants to finish the game that's probably plenty.

I dunno if it's for good or ill but I'd like to see power scaled back a fair bit. There should be a reason to move past just plain old fuel generators by the end of mid game, then into uranium nuke plants in early late game, plutonium for mid-late and then onto ficsonium nuke plants for late end game.

I mean why have all these options when the first one is pretty much all you need?

The difficulty could definitely be tweaked. I think the circuit board recipe might be better off in a manufacturer and maybe an alt as an assembler recipe. But that would require a lot of change.

Maybe nerf liquid fuel power a bit and add a vaporized fuel tier between it and nuclear?
