I just care that she'll vote for progressive legislation that Stephen Lynch won't. Plus she is nice to me, and she is fun, and I kind of like the drama. I don't think Brianna is working class, but I think she will help the working class. Way more than Stephen Lynch will with his fake ass union BS. Sure he helped the building trades unions by making the housing crisis worse and gentrifying the heck out of Boston. But he screwed the service workers, nurses and teachers unions big time, and they hate him.
Plus I'm sick of his BS 'Southern Strategy' right here in New England. Every time he gets on the radio it's some new nasty thing about foreigners coming to get us, and how he loves Charlie Baker and Donald Trump. F that. Brianna may be unpolished, and make mistakes and have inexperience and whatever else. But she didn't make a law career out of defending dudes in the Ironworkers' union who purposely pushed black guys off buildings while doing the "high iron". And then get Mattapan gerrymandered out of his district when too many angry black people found out about it. Brianna might have flaws, but good old Cousin Stephen is real political scum of the first order. I'd rather have a newbie like Brianna, even if people on a lolcows forum think she is a "liar" or whatever.

They've met her and researched her and have run away. Have you spoken with other progressives in the district, or progressive organizers anywhere in MA, who have given you any tangible support? Do you have an explanation as to why everyone else thinks she's a fraud at best?

I have a front row seat on this campaign and she doesn't have 4 full time staff members, unless you're counting her and Frank and you and the guy with the ponytail who collected signatures a couple times. You might be the field organizer, but she doesn't have a campaign manager or a finance person.

A pregnant animator and “co founder” Amanda and a previously inexperienced dev who couldn’t get a job in a broken economy Maria.

She creates a Patreon to pay for Natalie, who never existed. She was fabricated. Wu used the money for toys and still accepts donations even though giant spacekat is over.

Most small businesses can’t afford to pay for healthcare. Brianna’s was a failed startup, so they definitely didn’t. Why lie? And why not care that she screwed these women over?

The guy with the ponytail was okay, but he hasn't done a lot lately. It's me and Frank and Brianna, and two other staffers who are less thick skinned than me and would probably be horrified to find out about troll sites like this. So I guess 5 staff if you count Brianna.

Believe it or not she's actually pretty fun to work for. Although I like the cartoon version of her totally under-appreciating me and me being this unsung part-hero, part-insane person. There is this guy in Malden with the pseudonym Joe Edgeworth and he is kind of like that. A masked hero going around doing superhero type stuff, where some (such as me), cheer him on, but most consider him insane. I think that it's important to dare to be stupid and insane, and we need more of that in life.

I haven't met these people but this all sounds pretty exaggerated. It's pretty fun working for Brianna, and going around to towns I've never been to, meeting people, discussing progressive issues, getting in weird encounters with Lynch staffers. I do wish it paid more, but maybe I'll get a bigger politics job after this. Or maybe not, who can say? Maybe I'm doomed. But at least it's pretty interesting!

But I think several of us are really trying to get you to specifically see that while John may speak like a progressive, all of his actions demonstrate precisely the opposite - and I mean both politically and personally. On a political level, John says on his campaign website that he wants to streamline the H1B process and bring it foreigners that will directly compete with Americans for jobs, and on a personal level, John is constantly talking about buying luxury cars and takes frequent expensive vacations AT THE CAMPAIGN'S EXPENSE. Like it's doubtlessly true that @RepStephenLynch has skeletons in his closet, but are you really okay with simply glancing past the skeletons standing right in front of you?

You've apparently browsed this forum at least slightly: what do you have as an explanation for the numerous things that John has claimed to have done or promised to do but never did? Does that just fly under the radar for you because "all politicians lie"? If you think that Donald Trump, for example, should be held to a certain standard of promising and truth-telling and is abominable because of his routine violation of both, why does John get a pass?

Okay, you can call restricting immigration "progressive" if you want. And I'm sure Stephen's buddies in the building trades agree with you.
But Bernie Sanders does not, and Pramila Jayapal, who sponsored the H1B amendment you are talking about, does not either. Brianna might be less progressive than Pramila maybe, but Pramila's a heck of a lot more progressive than anybody shouting "they tyuk ur jorbs" about immigrants like they were in a South Park cartoon.

Re doubt edit: You don't have to find it objectionable. If sanctuary cities are not your issue, then you won't. But he says they "don't work". Whatever that means. It probably won't bother centrists, because sanctuary cities are kind of a wedge issue. But it shows what kinds of things he believes in.

I'm not a guy (and also not a Nazi) and I don't care if she's fun to work for. She's a liar and not a progressive. H1B visas have nothing to do with sanctuary cities and have nothing to do with imigration of families or refugees or people who are looking to permanently move to a land of opportunity, they have to do with hiring cheap Asian labor on a temporary basis and laying off good paying middle class jobs.

Groups will invite anyone even a little interesting to give a 10 minute talk, but how many people are signing up to help? Given how many progressives openly loathe Lynch you'd think she'd be getting more endorsements wouldn't you? At last count, she had two minor politicians who don't live in the district and a pro choice group I've never heard of. It's not just because she's running against an entrenched incumbent: Pressley, Amatul-Wadud and Heisey are all getting endorsements. The groups and progressive people are all giving you reasons they "can't" help Brianna but they are helping other candidates. Do you have an explanation for this?

Also have you met Christopher Voehl? What's his deal?

Back to the h1b issue, I don’t find it progressive to push policies that jeopardize American workers and their families. If increasing h1b numbers is considered progressive then I’d rather not be a part of this movement.

Unfortunately I am not interested in weighing candidates' various political positions against each other because I'm not voting in that district. What I care about is people who prance around in their house with Nerf guns and Barbie dolls and there's only one candidate there who fits the bill for me.

Yeah I'm sorry Warren, but I'm just not seeing how it's "progressive" to prop up a system that allows big corporations to flood the market with cheap foreign labour, and I know that John claims to have walked back his position on it, it doesn't square with what he keeps saying about wanting to transform District 8 into a tech utopia. Does the population of District 8 have the capacity to support what he is proposing, or does he imagine that giants from the West Coast will flock to this new high tech Mecca?

Some endorsements like on my little radio show come from just the hosts hanging out with you for an hour and asking you questions. Others like the unions, you have to meet with all the locals, do questionnaires, forums, be voted on at different levels, discussed... Ask the people on those campaigns how much work it was. Working Families Party for example has 95 questions in their initial questionnaire alone. I have not met Tahirah yet but I really admire how well she is coordinating volunteers and how well her campaign is going. Ayanna is a seasoned insider at this point, and an amazing speaker. Sabrina is my buddy and she needs all the help she can get, and she is really charming with 6 kids against a really nasty lady. I'm super proud of her, and all 3 of them really. Kevin Higgins is also getting amazing endorsements.

Warren my point is that this is NOT on you. Those candidates are working their asses off seeking those endorsements. The CANDIDATES are. I do know how much work it is to get endorsements and have helped fill out the paperwork for friends. It's on Brianna to be doing these things and she isn't. Endorsement places want to meet with her not with you. They want her to fill out the questionnaires not you. This is her campaign and you are the only person on it doing any work. This is what so many people here find upsetting. The only thing Brianna is doing is showing up some of the times, tweeting a lot of stupid things, and traveling to tech conferences on the campaign dime.

That being said, while John may not be Ted Bundy, we have thousands of pages of documented evidence that he is most definitely NOT a nice human being on balance.
