She says we like she's on the committee of the Hugos or something.

Of course we know why the humblebragging cunt is bringing up voting for the Hugos.

The real point is this. Dems and progressives have figured out that Ranked Choice Voting benefits them, so obviously they push for it. Just like the know immigrants will be drawn towards voting for them so open borders it should be. The rest of the world knows they are pushing for things that purely benefit them, so they'll tell them to fuck off.

It is something that Warren has sperged about before. The post where he wrote about forgetting that woman's name, the woman you know, he also mentioned the "ranked choice voting guy whose name I keep forgetting."

Frank also went off on a little twitter spree about ranked choice voting on Feb 13th.

It's one of the worst kept secrets on the internet, but few people besides us ever bring it up. So he should know or have heard about it at least, but John always tiptoes around the issue.

Yes there's a subgroup of Our Revolution going around to all the town democratic meetings trying to get people excited and get it on the ballot. The reception has mostly been "that's cute." It's not something anyone else is talking about.

People outside the status quo win because it benefits lunatics no one has ever heard of. Fringe candidates cluster in the middle of everyone's ranks because they put all the candidates they have heard of at the very top or very bottom, they tend to subsequently win. Ranked voting is the only way in hell someone like Brianna Wu would win which is why she likes it.

It is so amusing to watch this. Warren and Wu are clearly such complete and total ignoramuses on the subject that they aren't aware that we did in fact once have "Ranked Choice Voting". It was gotten rid of by the 12th Amendment, after the questionable election of John Quincy Adams showed how easily it could be manipulated in unintended ways.

To be fair, that executive clusterfuck was pretty different than modern ranking election methods for legislative bodies. Almost anything would probably be better than the current way we run elections.

Then again you're right that I'm sure Wu's bona fides regarding civics matters are probably about as impressive as those in 'engineering.' Actually, MAYBE better since sometimes high schools require civics classes and afaik Wu actually graduated high school.

I thought most Ethiopians/Eritreans in the US didn't get here until the 80s/90s with the famines caused by the communist regime there? I swear I saw Haile Selassie's picture on the wall at an Ethiopian restaurant I went to once.

Either way it might not be a good idea to hear that someone is a particular ethnicity, race, or even nationality and assume their political views on divisive topics from that fact.

I feel like there's a word for that...
