Warlockracy - Potatozone game reviewer, has good Fallout 2 and Morrowind mod reviews, why is there no discussion about him?

Thanks, I never want to see it again.
Speaking of cursed things, I am drawing a blank: Is the Chris Chan thumbnail an original creation, or did Chris actually draw Fallout Super Mutants in the Sonichu comics? Obviously this isn't part of the classic Sonichu saga, but maybe this came about in the Idea Guy saga or sometime afterwards and I've forgotten.
Nah, this stuff is his original creation or whomev he paid to draw this.

Most of the criticism in the video is solid and well intentioned. Still, I think the guy behind Yesterday will chimp out all the same, especially when Warlockracy joked that Frontier is a better mod(it is, at least in the aspects mentioned in the video).
What I don't agree with however is his assessment of Van Buren story, lore and characters. I suggest watching the Van Buren design document overview by Retcon Raider, there is a whole lot Warlockracy doesn't go over either because he personally doesn't like Van Buren or because he misunderstood the concepts.

Good example is the big bad, Victor Presper: He is compared to an evil wizard who wants to destroy the world using magic and when his motivations are outlined, he is simply described as a bitter moron, much like Elijah by Warlockracy. That can't be further from the truth, Presper decides to nuke Mojave, Arizona and New California since he has seen first hand what (((Brahmin Barons))) did to NCR after Tandi was assassinated(in the Van Buren timeline). This is basically him going scorched earth, literally, on a government he no longer believes in, and his disillusionment leads to him going further than that and proclaiming that nobody in the surrounding area is any better, and it would be better if he hand-picked who would survive a second nuclear holocaust with him. This is also why he has so many men with him, there are others within the NCR who see just how corrupt to the bone it is and see Presper as a better alternative even knowing full well what he is planning. He is seen as the smartest man on Earth, and if you pick an ending where you freeze yourself in Boulder Dome, it turns out that without your involvement his plan works and you wake up in a new world ruled by him...altho the ending is vague enough to never mention what he does with you once he awakens you from your pod. You might think this is going too far, but remember that this isn't the same NCR from New Vegas we are talking about, this one is much more corrupt and without a big threat like Ceasar's Legion to keep them in check. Also, the "golden years" were cut early and the country went downhill much faster than in the canon timeline.

But nope, let's throw all that out and call him a dummy, maybe throw in a little skit about him becoming a #DarkWoke commie larper because radical extremists, am I right fellas? The locations aren't better, he describes each with one to two sentences that don't go into any details over the location, it's history or conflict within them. Mesa Verde is described by him as "a tribe with painted people". He didn't mention that the tribals are Ciphers, who are obsessed with technology to the point where they draw mathmatical formulas on cave wall and have memorized complex schematics they can recreate by hand, which their ancestors had to condition onto their children by necessity since the computers that held the data malfunctioned and data was lost, only option was to make their children learn all the knowledge and pass it onto their children. Today, Ciphers still pass down this knowledge but have no idea what any of it means, being tribals and all that, making them ignorant but also fascinated with all things of technological in nature. There is also the conflict with the Vipers nearby send by Daughters of Hecate(fanatical female cultists who control the local tribes thru trickery and subterfuge), who want to literally starve the Mesa Verde citizens off, and you have to intervene. One option to do so is to help them build a "laser cannon" which is just a common laser pistol that is 50x bigger and more powerful(they know the schematics by memory but have no clue what any of it means, remember?) so you can literally blow Vipers off the face of the earth. This is just one location in the design documents, which in the video is summarized as "tribals that wear body paint".

Why do the people who write the most never seem to understand the value of sentence structure or paragraphs? Also Karl Marcus first appears in his second Fallout 2 video

I really liked the video. Some legitimately fun jokes like using Moviebob twits as future currency. And the criticism is constructive and a breath of fresh air in modern YouTube where "don't you dare to punch down the trannies wasting their time" is the law.

Though honestly it looks unsalvageable. Either too many cooks in the kitchen and/or the main dev is retarded and has an echo chamber that never criticise him. Like holy shit finish the game first and then make multiple races.

Idk dude. Nuking civilians who has little to do with corruption in the vain hopes of the survivors of the second nuclear holocaust not being corrupt is pretty retarded. The equivalence to Evil Wizard trope is pretty apt because you can impose that plot into a fantasy setting with no chamge besides substitution of science plot elements with magic.

Ditto here, the concept is fine for a Star Trek episode. But I doubt it can really fit the game once the twist of "they have formulas on their bodies" comes up (a twist that should be immediately exposed to high INT character).

This isn't a one-off theme park ride, much of the factions you would interact with in Van Buren would have been tribes as the game takes place largely in what is now canonically Ceasar's Legion territory. Many of the tribes mentioned in New Vegas came from the Van Buren design documents. The reason why you have to visit the location is because Ciphers have required codes and schematics to make the rocket you need to take to BOMB 001 work. This is late game stuff, think of it as the last leg of Fallout 2 where you need to do all the chores to get the tanker operational to sail to the Oil Rig. You either need to deal with the Vipers so that the Ciphers cooperate with you, or evil/smart characters can get the information they need in other ways. BTW Van Buren's equivalent of Father Elijah is just chilling there, minding his own business since Brotherhood in Van Buren is pretty much a joke faction that has entirely collapsed under their own hubris and had a mutiny, sort of like Mojave and D.C Chapter combined but much worse in every aspect. He can give you his old suit of Power Armor if you run an errand for him.

BTW you're right that ultimately, Presper is unstable and a "magic wizard" of sorts. I am just pointing out that the setting of Van Buren is much rougher than that of New Vegas and even older Fallout games, therefore Presper is exposed to the worst that the franchise has to offer and he decides it all needs to be wiped off. As I said, in the non-canonical ending where you let him succeed, he does bring about a new world order, so it's not like he can't make his plan work and there is a reason why he has so many supporters helping him with his plan. Basically, Presper is what would happen if Ulysses had an actual plan and a justified reason to fire the nukes, in fact that's the inspiration behind Lonesome Road.

This mother fucker needs to cover Jade Empire, truly the most forgotten classic Bioware game. Not exactly a lot to talk about with it but Im sure he can conjure up something about how it relates to the era of RPG death in the late 2000s he always talks about

This video skims over a lot, like, a lot lmao. He skips so many good characters it is unbelievable, and the usual tourists who consume this sort of content will be unaware of them. I'm biased as fuck here so I think this video is one of his worst yet in terms of quality and summary since it builds up the DND universe but does not use the more mysterious word-of-mouth way its mechanics are set up in-game which makes it a lot less intriguing, your imagination of the in-game instances of lore from characters will always be more vivid and memorable than the DND lore book itself since its woven with the characters personal experiences and beliefs. The usage of the concept art is pretty neat with the background but I guess his content is speeding through mostly RPG games people will never play which is gay. The parts skipped may just be little things but thats what made the game a hit. I don't know what I was expecting but this is the first time I have actually been pretty disappointed in his work. Now I wonder just how much he's skipped on mods and games I haven't played but watched a vid of his on seeing as he pretty much left out everything interesting, notable and tragic about Dak'kon's backstory in his speedrun wiki summary.
I made it a point to play this game before watching the video, and it makes me question all his videos now. What kind of cherry picking bs is this

He focuses a lot on Fallout but I'd be quite interested if he did look into Bioware since they had a similar path as Bethesda going from making RPG classics to the creation of the modern ARPG, but that might ruin his Bethesda bashing a bit.

The youtube algorithm sent this guy my way early last week. Been hooked on the vids since. Very good stuff -- it's tough to make topics like AoD and obscure Russian-only Fallout 2 mods particularly interesting to the uninitiated, but I have to say his formula works well. I particularly enjoy when he dips into his old forumgoer experience/knowledge to provide context to what you're seeing.

Jade Empire is interesting if only because of how unique the setting is, and how it is basically what I'd consider the awkward middle child of Bioware. It contains a lot of the classic RPG elements of KOTOR and Baldur's Gate while also having a bigger emphasis on spectacle, action, and drama ala Mass Effect.

I still remember the whole arena fight questline, it was good shit. The game is so fucking short in retrospect

So, how much pol shit are we getting in this video?
The usual, at least for the first 20 minutes. For some reason Warlock got a sponsorship from Adam and Eve. Because when I think slavjank RPGs I think sex toys. Makes sense, getting some of these games to run is just CBT.

I mean, makes sense he'd get sponsored by sex toys, with how much he tries sucking off the West. Pretty sure even a Juarez prostitute would be jeloause of him.
