But I have a feeling he is trying really hard to center the story on Ukraine.

I'm not going to waste time by watching a Warlokracy vid (I've already wasted enough time on his poorly-researched crap) but honestly if we're talking gaming output the hohols do beat Russian output if we're talking what got here in the West. Straight out my mind, Russian games with some relevance.... Vangers and its weirdo almost-shared universe (Perimeter, Hammerfight, Highfleet). Pathologic and The Void are kind of notable, but I would not define them as good games. Nival's output like Silent Storm? Owlcat "trust-us-we-are-not-Russian"? I'd love to be corrected but I fear the Ukrainians did have a better output.

@Spider Princess Fan Cossacks got a good reception in western Europe and sold well .
It moved around 150k copies in France alone, which for a RTS game at that time, is pretty damn good.

It's strange to make a video where you talk about Kings Bounti 2 and not mention the King's Bounty series that was made in Russia and plays very similarly to King's Bounty/Heroes of Might and Magic.

I'll add that he references Ross's Stop Killing Games campaign (EU edition) which is a better sign that a Youtuber actually cares about video games than anything else.

I liked the style of the video, focusing on history with short reviews than a full playthrough of one, it works for those sort of clone games. You have multiple personalities with passion for games and a tragic ending for some of them due to retarded Russian invasion.

Also laughed out loud in the part with the Mercedes wheel chair.

Sort off, but not really. Ukraines game dev really only took off when STALKER got made, up until then their game releases ranges from "okay/nice stuff" (Vivisector, Cryostasis, Boiling Point and Cossacks), to lots of terrible garbage (You are Empty). Meanwhile Russian game development was stuff like Sudden Strike (before the franchise gor sold off to the Fins), Silent Storm, a plethora of various point'n'click games, Rage of Mages 1-2, their own takes on the Jagged Alliance series (while janky some of em tried to continue the ideas of JA), Space Rangers series, Corsairs an etc.. The problem, that like USSR cinema, instead of expending on the stuff they have build, the Russian game dev decided to either make stuff on a cheaper level or keep making the same stuff but worse and worse.

Russian take on Jagged Alliance gave us such slavjank gem such as 7.62 mm, a game that use the same combat system as maradur (where it pause everytime you shot)
Silent Storm was dope as shit and one of the best XCOM style games for its era. Love that shit.

There was actually gonna be a Russian made official JA3 game, but they lost the rights and not wishing to throw away all the development they simply renamed the game into Jazz: Work for hire aka Hired Guns the Jagged Edge (for Western market)

Something I noticed while listening to the Fallout Sinora video again
Compare it to his most recent one a few pages ago, his accent has softened a little. It could be due to microphone quality being better or spending two years speaking English but it is noticeable.

You don't soften your accent via just speaking. You need to comunicate with people that don't have your accent. My guess is he is hanging on discord with westoids paying him money and as such his accent is being blunted via communicating with them.

I don't think he's losing his accent I think he's just putting on a voice.

I'll stop whining, when he talks about games and doesn't shove his political sperging into videos whenever it involves Russia or Ukraine, deal?
What do you expect? He is a Belorussian that moved to Moscow only because he inherited a flat. There was also talk about him receiving government gibs due to his diagnosed mental disorder (Is autism still considered a mental illness in Russia?). More people would detest him if he was from US instead, getting tismbux and then sperging about the government despite living off it's support. He'll keep sperging and he will never change.

Really interesting piece of science fiction with an expectantly jank game. Reminds me of Precursors, a game reviewed by TehSnakerer.
I'm actually intrigued enough by the books that I might pick them up. Slavs always did have some nice literature.
I am confused as to why he says he will play Fallout 2 again. He already reviewed that one several years ago, altho I am looking forward to the Lionheart review. I keep putting it off but I do actually want to play this game. Fascinating RPG, it's the only non Fallout game with the SPECIAL system and it also has multiplayer. In a way you could consider this a prototype for a breed of non-Fallout RPG that Interplay could have invested in with other settings and franchises if, you know, they weren't too busy going bankrupt.

When it comes to Russian literature from the 90s and early 2000s, you will be playing a slot machine with those. You might get some decent books...or some shitty crap about sucking off.90s criminals, shoving nationalism, your typical spy/military action stories, thrillers, the many MANY books based on the STALKER franchise or Metro (though, the spin off books were more readable than the main ones)

Allow me to go on a tangent and gush about 7.62 because it's great and also because I haven't watched a warlockracy video in about half a year now.

7.62 is easily one of the most mechanically indepth games I've played. Massive gun autism through mods. Ballistic simulation that models layers of armor. Ballistic simulation that makes penetration as a stat somewhat meaningful(during the early game, because no one's wearing armor so AP rounds are actually worse than regular cheapo shit ammo). An AI that on the higher CGLs pulls some tactics you'd see some actual humans struggling with. Freedom to do so much retarded shit it circles back into being genius if you actually pull it off. A fun WEGO system that has you constantly thinking two-three steps ahead because you don't want to be caught doing a long action with an enemy showing up in front of you.

The drawbacks? Jank, crashes, out of combat sections and some quest design that makes you want to put a bullet in your head, it's the kind of game where savescumming is mandatory because even if you're that good you're still going to get domed and your body swiss cheesed, and it has some of the most finnicky annoying UI and camera I've had the displeasure of wrestling against in a tactical game. And the dumbass quick turn mechanic breaking the balance of gameplay because it's the one action that should take at least two seconds to execute but instead you do it in under 200 milliseconds and so does the AI.
