You know, there isn’t anything that says that a chapter that starts as primaris only must stay primaris only. The primaris marines only have three additional organs and the only wargear difference is the boltgun type and the power armor, which probably would not be hard to acquire either from the battlefield or from another chapter.
There’s definitely the lore argument to be made for first born to be included as a way to bolster numbers or even as a mentor role. Sort of like the Black Templar’s and their acolytes.
I didn’t actually have any lore reasons when I first started painting first born during 6th edition for their shoulder pads other then I thought and entirely dark green armour looked drab.

Gene seed is already hard to come by. The chances of a newly founded primaris chapter getting a hold of none primaris gene seed isn't feasible. Unless they just outright stole it, or scavenged proginoids.

I don't think you need to get caught up with the rest of the Horus Heresy to be able to read the Primarch novels in their full context. All of them I've read are usually self-contained/stand-alone stories.

I've had a generally stellar experience reading them, but David Guymer seems to have gone fucking spastic when writing the Lion's book (I'm still in the middle of it).

There are numerous instances in which I have to re-read a paragraph, multiple times, to understand what the fuck is actually being said. This one, for instance:

-Lion El'Jonson - Lord of the First (pg. 51)

There are multiple paragraphs like this in the book, and I actually had to get up off my fat ass and look into a dictionary to see what particular words mean. Girt, seriously? Guymer could have just fucking said clad, but he decided to go full-retard to the point that G.R.R.M. would tell him to tone it down.
It isn't the Dark Angels unless you go baroque and wordy with them for the obvious reason of them being literal space knights thanks to their origins with the Order.

Primaris gene seed is not different from firstborn gene seed. Ultima founding chapters may have received more purified gene seed but it is still the same gene seed. The only difference between firstborn and primaris are the three organs which make them taller and stronger.

In fact it might make tactical sense to have firstborn marines in a primaris chapter; they would be faster to produce and send out to fight.

And now that crossing the Rubicon isn't nearly so dangerous as it used to be thanks to practice (a rare example of the Imperium actually getting better at things over time instead of worse!), can always upgrade them later.

Store anniversary models.

Both look fine. Really like the necron.

I like the Necron as well but i’d prefer the ones they’ve already shown from the codex that are missing.
Rona apparently. Bikes and assault intercessors are the only idom units to get released. So stuff like the techromancer probably wont be coming for a while.

So is the sigmarines thing an actual fair description for the storm cast eternals? Or is it just a salty meme? I've heard that they aren't a particularly easy army to play.

They play as an elite faction with good durability and versatility in play style. Right now you can play them as strong infantry, fast moving/run and gun, elite calvary, or magic heavy. Lots of unit variety but they are all expensive so you will have a small sized army even at 2000 points.

It would be better to say that the marines are copying the stormcast now with the plethora of marine play styles now available with the expanded roster from the primaris range.

I guess we will have to wait and see the Stormcast get their own vehicles; perhaps a chariot that hovers on an electrical storm.

The issue that I have seen with stormcast is that their options can confuse new players, especially when every character starts with Lord-X or Knight-X.

I mean it depends on what you define as easy

The 2 current build of stormcast are

units of 9 railgun crossbow guys who you use command abilities to shoot twice

and

a new formation that allows you to pretty much charge 100 odd wounds of idiots into your opponent turn 1 and hold him there for 2-3 turns while you score objectives

Id say both are fairly easy to play if you know how AOS works

but if were talking starter armies where you just march your dudes at their dudes and have a fight in the middle. then no, stormcast is to bloated and has to many terrible warscrolls (half of their heroes are terrible, most of their units are terrible etc etc)

really id say the perfect starter army is ironjaws, every warscroll except the shaman is very good and the shaman is just ok.
