Norn's the only one I've heard of, but it doesn't surprise me they'd have that take.

There was also the spat between MajorKill and The Outer Circle. Both Australians, except one creates hentai calendars and the other deals with 30K.

Cheers. Come to think of it most of the cowish stories i know are about straight up assholes. Like the guy my partner's friend played who contested every single move our mate made just because he didn't like it.

This asshole actually won the game, but because it was only a minor win not a major one, he contested his own win. The judges decided he had displayed enough bad sportsmanship that he shouldn't even get the minor win, and avoided a default victory to our friend.

This guy was judged to be overall the worst sportsman in a competition that involved actual punches being thrown between two other players.

And the kicker was that this entire tournament was for charity.

Idk if that's a cow or an asshole. Probably a cow as he lost to his own hubris.

I wish I could find the video of the guy burning his army. If I have any luck in my search, I'll share it.

Do you guys think this, combined with the people mentioned above, sounds like enough material for a small community watch thread?

Eh, I'm far more interested in playing and painting warhammer for myself now that sisters of battle have all their new shit released. Unlike you, I do prefer characters in stuff I like to be female because I can identify with them more. Its about vicarious wish-fulfilment.

(The flip side is i dont begrudge male representation because I understand that guys may feel the same way about male characters. I'd just like a few more female options.)

I would also love an army that isn't gender segregated though, because that way gender isn't being made such a big deal. Eg if Imperial guard had male and female models which seems perfectly reasonable to me.

If we're being honest that just sounds like WAAC pettiness and not really lolcow behavior. You need to keep an eye out for when the wokemasters raise another stink related to blacks in the WH40k setting, female marines, minority representation, etc. The kind of garbage that just doesn't fit in a horrible and dystopian zealous society, driven by fanatical war (as opposed to our current timeline of horrible, dystopian zealous twitter commenters, driven by fanatical reddit posting)

Lol. Honestly in that case I'm not interested in a 40k cow thread. I'm not interested in people getting mad about woke subjects on the internet, without actually *doing* anything crazy like getting irreversible surgery, burning armies, ordering the wrong models and throwing a public incomprehensible shit fit, etc etc. If one of these people who are mad about woke subjects tried to protest GW headquarters only to have nobody show up to the protest or something like that I'd be more interested.

Good point. I have some harlequins that I've never painted because I like the lore. But regular eldar and dark eldar lore have never really appealed to me, so I actually completely forgot about them when I posted that!

A long ass time ago, millions of Earth years ago, the Old Ones either created or massively powered up a race of horny pointy-eared bastards with a penchant for the arts. They did this so they'd fight the C'tan (successfully) and in turn they more or less gained the ability to manifest their psychic projections as full-fledged avatar-gods in the (then clean) Warp.
After successfully driving the necrons into sleep and repelling most of the Krorks (but not wiping them out, that is impossible), they become the defacto superpower in the galaxy. They master life (geoforming, terraforming, astroforming) collect and trade solar systems like yugioh cards and have a grand old time. They manipulate and toy around other lesser races than them and just about go god mode on the universe. Then, after eons of debauchery, that latent psychic thing they had going bites them in the ass as a degenerate super-god entity rips the warp a new asshole and damns them into a fate worse than death.

The way you approach eldar, is not by emulating Tolkien elves in space. You approach eldar as pointy-eared, magical (or technological if you choose dark eldar) buddhist-hinduists with a dash of greek tragedy and celtic folklore thrown in, languishing slowly on big fatass worldships or continuing their depravity in the massive and unfathomable hell-dimension "city" of comorragh (city is such a minute term for what that thing really is). Harlequins and corsairs are some of the coolest factions you could dream of, so naturally GW does nothing with them in favor of releasing more SM trash that appeals to toddlers and special needs hand sniffers.
 
Also, TTS Device does a good job with them, especially Vect. That dude is the most delightfully evil sadist in actual lore, and him humoring his enemies right before he twists the knife is how he loves to operate. For example, a human slave he recently captured is taken to his chambers. Vect offers him tea, which he accepts because he has no real choice otherwise, and listens as Vect tells him about the events of the Fall. Why does Vect do this? Well, its a nice story that he loves to tell, and most humans haven't heard it. Also, the tea is indigestible by humans, so soon after Vect finishes the very abridged version, the poor sap gets the worst stomach cramps ever as they drag him back to the slave pens before his torture session can begin.

For Craftworlders, Saim-Hann really play up the Celtic aspect of the Eldar, with lots of clan rivalries and a complete disdain for sanity, and even "woad" paint on their armor and vehicles. Yes, GW hypes them up, but that's because its pretty easy to make them Your Dudes thanks how individualistic they are. Altansar are nice if you want something more disciplined that aren't the stereotypical pricks of Biel-Tan, with lots of Dark Reapers and a Phoenix Lord who went "Fuck this shit" when his brethren were making fancy knives and decided the best way to kill some fuckers was with a big-ass gun.

I can understand both sides actually - I have an Eldar Farseer OC I write about quite a bit who’s a shameless author avatar, and I’m in fact going to get to painting and customising her mini eventually along with the rest of my Craftworld army but at the moment I’m so hyped to be working on my Blood Angels that they’re my top priority for the time being. Female representation alone isn’t a bad thing - I was referring to the people who completely disregard established lore and demand more diversity just because, and the female fans I listed off are the pronouns in bio, BLM type, and most of them signed the petition to GW for “more representation”. What the specifics of that are, I don’t know - are we gonna see the lost primarchs get revealed as non binary with legions of Snowflake Marines with a battle cry of “don’t misgender me uwu” at their disposal? (OTT example but you get my point). Guardswomen would be cool and personally I’d like to see more Eldar stuff too because I just think they’re neat.

Anvil Industries off the top of my head do a range of female torsos and heads at 28mm heroic that can make a good kitbashed IG
 
The real woke pill is realizing Warhammer 40k is one of the most diverse settings ever. Catachans, Celestial Lions, Tanith First and Only, Crimson Fists, the Celtic and somewhat asian themes of the eldar and that’s just some examples off the top of my head. It’s a mash of cultures and armies and it’s why it appeals to so much people.

Frankly after we entered the alternate dimension after 2016 it’s just been so annoying nothing but identify politic BS. I’m gonna be a le centrist but nowadays it’s literally just either “WE NEED A BLACK MAN YASSSS” or “WHAT THE FUCK WHY IS HE BLACK???”

Remember when Toth showed up in DoW 1? Or Jonah in DoW 2? No one really said anything nowadays both sides would make a fuss over it.

Female guard would be great but GW learning how to sculpt women’s faces would be better.

To add to that, there's also plenty of room to create your own diversity, and I think that's what the "muh representation" crowd is missing. You want a diverse army? Don't rely on GW, just fucking make it yourself. Example: I'm painting and fluffing my Sisters army as a minor order coming from an ice world that was settled by Inuit and Scandinavian colonists way back in the DAoT, so they're painted with the requisite skin tones, and I'm planning to model a couple of Rhinos and Exorcists covered in bone totems and furs to really drive the point home. There's no basis for it anywhere in the fluff, but I was rewatching The Terror after I got my army box and went "huh, an Inuit-styled army could actually be a fun concept, let's roll with it and see what happens", and so far I'm pretty pleased.

They'd be Clan Verminus now. Stormvermin are pretty solid, especially when they're buffed by a special Verminus Vermin Lord and Grey Seer. Stormvermin are the only Skaven horde option with a 4+ save, so they're actually almost survivable. A Verminus VL can take a command trait that gives him 3 extra attacks with all his melee weapons once per game, which is absolutely horrifying.
