My guess is that they are stripping down FW stuff to make good on their word. That being either making a FW codex, or adding the models into their appropriate codex.
 
My guess was, with the push to give everyone a build your own faction like the Space Marine chapters had, that they are scaling back on the official ones, just for less work maintaining and balancing.

So uh anyone else's army got fucked over by the point hikes?

10 points for a guardian defender. Now for 100, I too can field a squad of defender to be fulminated by 1 (one) primaris captain whilst not taking any damage.
Orks got hit the worst in my opinion.

I had this custom AoK idea in my mind, I was going to take the FW model as inspiration but use one of those kotobukiya kits to scratch-build him with epoxy, make him look more feral. I guess for ornamental usage now because lol GW really expects every army to field killteam numbers now. "Playtested to perfection"

Monkey paw, they leave eldar as it is for most of 9th edition, but the range gets a refresh. Do you take it?
 
Maybe. I feel like Eldar have been apologizing for 2 whole editions now. I've never done any of the cheese strats either, but I still casually catch comments like "uh figures, eldar so op" and I'm "what the hell, I just beat you with scorpions and hawk exarch!"

As someone who primarily collects Tyranids, Daemons and GSC, there's very little light to be found in this edition thus far. I'm basically sitting out 40k entirely until things get better, although considering Tyranids have been shit for over a decade now, it might not get better.
 
I'm sitting here staring at everyone getting a ~15-20% points cost increase across the board

... Who got a something like a 0-3% cost increase.
