Box never appeared in the US store and now the site is dead.

It's gonna be hard riding coat tails of a box like indomitus. Especially considering it is 100% new models.
I just saw the box pop up for a second before the site crashed
I was looking at that. 100? Maybe but 200 fuck thatYup, box is gone. And no fucking way am I paying $210 for that limited edition rulebook.

I guess GW just hates money. I had it in my cart, but since the site was taking minutes to load each page, it sold out before I could complete the check out.
Not sure what to do with necrons though.
What Long Dong said. You should be able to move them relatively easily, especially with the new models.I guess GW just hates money. I had it in my cart, but since the site was taking minutes to load each page, it sold out before I could complete the check out.
Luckily I just called up my LGS and they said they'd have one put aside for me when it released. Fuck GWS, praise LGSs. I wouldn't have bothered at all but I'm really wanting to paint up the new Marines as Blood Angels. Not sure what to do with necrons though.
Is GW okay with this kind of scalping? Strikes me as asking for trouble.

I've seen a lot of posts of people ranting and raging about the Indomitus boxed set as if it's one of the worst things to ever happen to them. I'm worried about y'all's mental health if you get this reaction about a box of plastic miniatures. You should probably look deeply at whether you really enjoy a hobby if you're causing yourself such undue stress to be just a practitioner of it.
Okay, honest grown-up talk time. This may be hard to confront, but here we go:
Today, 45 minutes before Indomitus dropped, I found myself refreshing the gw page with shaking fingers. I caught myself doing this and took a deep breath. I then left the house and took a walk with my wife. I explained the situation, and she asked some simple questions:
"Do you collect Space Marines or Necrons?" (No I don't)
"Will you be happier with more of these models on your painting backlog?" (Absolutely not)
"I thought you believed that the power creep of Space Marines is ruining the hobby, anyway?" (I do).
After explaining the underlying stress, I realised that it was all for nothing. The pre-order would come and go and I would still be the same. Then I deduced that I was a sucker for the oldest marketing trick in the book: Spectacle and Engineered Demand (or "FOMO"). Don't let it get you down. Enjoy the hobby and in times such as these, unnecessary stress is not beneficial to our wellbeing.
If some of you are still finding it difficult to deal with it, talk about the stress of the hobby with a loved one, and they'll understand. If you find yourself explaining more of the negatives than the positives of the hobby, it's time to either change your outlook on it, or think about what really brings you joy in life, and focus on those, for your own health!
Stay safe and keep enjoying this amazing hobby.
Edit: Reading this back I would like to address and recognise the criticisms of this post. Perhaps we can go through them?
Edit2: 4) oh great, a post with ten-pence philosophies and an amateur counselor, just what the community needs! I've been on a long journey with stress in the past four years and have sought professional help over it. Some of the patterns of emotion that I learned to recognise were causing me problems have recently started to show themselves in a hobby I had taken-up to address them. I thought it helpful to share these with you and if it helps you at least perform some self-reflection or dissection of your anger and disappointment, I consider this a success.
- I don't collect either of these armies and so would not be invested anyway, but people who do collect them are disappointed. Yes, you're right to be disappointed, and someone with no skin in the game (I personally would call this "objective") saying it's okay can probably come across as being preachy. That's a fair criticism. I intended this post to highlight hobby-related stress, and trying to get others to notice it, in the same way I (as a non-invested player) noticed it in myself.
- GW is not engineering demand, it is low stock due to covid. This can explain the low stock, but would not explain the engineered "get it now while you can!" Mentality, because a factory can keep making stuff in future, past the limited release. When covid is over, there's nothing stopping gw making more.
- People are angry and this post doesn't recognise it. Yeah, people are angry; no one likes their reality bubbles being burst. The reality bubble in this case was the marketing-engineered reality that lead to the unnecessary hype.
Based xeno player with a cope.Warhammer is purging all their social media (what little there is of it) of angry comments.
And the cucks have started coming out of the woodwork.

Its a great deal for the price, and if you dont want either half its an easy flip.I don't really get the mass appeal of the big boxed sets, tbh. The only boxed set I've ever bought was one for AoS, and that was because it was the only way to get Horticulous Slimux for a while.
