mockery of the dead.So what the fuck was even the point of it being called pariah
Gonna have to re-watch it, but... No, actually. His stance IIRC was that it was a nothingburger. That a black Ultramarine made perfect sense given how many worlds the Ultramarines recruit from. (Edit: But that Ultramarines would end up looking like Guilliman at least somewhat.)

He did point out that the Gene Seed would make the Space Marines tend to take on the racial characteristics / skintone of their Primarch, but that any significant length of time in a high UV environment would leave them dark skinned, at least temporarily, due to the Melanochrome. I don't remember if it was him or someone else that cited one of the BL novels in which some White Scar recruits end up taking on the racial characteristics of their primarch, being indistinguishable from people from the primarch's homeworld by the end, but yeah. His stance was basically, it's not a big deal, nothing to get worked up over, the Melanochrome and Gene-Seed treatment would make even a black Space Marine take on characteristics of Guilliman, but again, stupid thing to get worked up over... and yes, it's still probably pandering by GW.
Wouldn't the UltraSmurfs be the most likely to display varied melanin levels anyways, since they recruit from all across Ultramar? Calth is literally all underground, so being naturally pale there wouldn't be shocking, while being born on Macragge of somewhere similar would lead to a darker natural complexion. Besides which, I always though the UltraSmurfs were supposed to be "Mediterraneans in Space", so they're all supposed to range from dark coastal Italians to pale highlands Italians, for skintone.
But all of the places you mention would yield pale people: an iceball and two Hive worlds. A few pages back I actually used the example of the Fists as a chapter less likely to have diverse skin tones than the UM, who I agree would show a wide range.Imperial Fists are likely to display a wide range of skin tones too, since they recruit from all over the galaxy. They've got recruitment rights on Terra, Inwit, and Necromunda, among other places.

Again, the only main chapters that it would be strange to see black dudes are the space wolves, raven guard(maybe???) and the white scar's. Again, now with primaris they probably have black dudes now anyway.
Then again, considering Fenris was designed to be a Viking LARP planet, I could see a DAoT scientist think of dropping a bunch of black people on the planet for lulz.Only gen1 Primaris, though. It's not like Cawl's Primaris are breeding or something.
thats because people are stupid... i use mostly revell acryl on my new guard, but thats because i got alot of them for supercheap.I have a bunch of tamiya paint, but don't see people using that. I do see people using vallejo though.
Any acrylic will do just fine. People like citidel because they don't have a firm grasp of color theory and the citidel ranges have really nice colors. If you want to use tamiya, just use tamiya it's no big deal. Personally for other projects in the past I have used army painter, vallejo, and tamiya paints and all are just find. At the end of the day sometimes it's easier to get the citidel color then trying to mix it youself if you don't have a strong grasp. Personally I like the consistency of citidel paint but I'm still working with it.Okay, you bastards have officially made me want to get back into 40K. I was checking out their Citadel (is it even called that anymore?) paint and about had a heart attack when I saw the prices on this stuff.
4-7 bucks for 12 ml? Am I seeing this right? Is this just the online store prices, and something I can get for less if I go to a store? That's kinda nuts. Everything on their website is pretty darned expensive, but the models/figures look better than I remember.
I've been looking around online for alternatives. I have a bunch of tamiya paint, but don't see people using that. I do see people using vallejo though.

The Luna wolves gene seed is specifically known to make them look more like their primarch then others. As for others, it reshapes their structures to varying degrees. Aximand is pointed out because he looked like a literal mini me of Horus.eh id expect most chapters to have some mixed marines at this point in time given the vastness of the imperium, tho chapters like the carcharodons have their gene seed turn them into man sized sharks, pale skin and abyss black eyes and i believe gills to a certain extent. and am i right in thinking that depending on the gene-father of the chapter the marines will have similar features to said gene-father, or was someone like aximund just a one in a million coincidence?
Don’t know if it is just me, but I have gotten good shelf life out of citadel paints. I’m using paints that are at least 8 years old and they still work well.Okay, you bastards have officially made me want to get back into 40K.
