To me it's more that I doubt Amazon will spend half the cash to make 40k stuff like huge battles, power armor an etc. Most I think we'll get is like....maybe Imperial guard stuff.
mite b good, if it's more of this:

but the imperium is fascist, so I expect cavill getting captured by deldar in the first episode and afterwards run around mostly shirtless for the "female audience" to flip their bean to, then disappear for the rest of the series only to show up back in the finale.

If Cavil is smart, first project is Imperial Guard vs Chaos Cultists.

Small, Cheap...and lets you naturally ramp things up how they Ramp up in the 40K setting and if it is good he can put his dick down on Amazon's Desk and be like "Give me the real money so I can show off the Space Marines, the Orkz and the Necrons"

I know it's never going to happen but I would love if they made the series about the war in the heavens. There's not a lot of detailed lore about it so if GW got a lot of control over the script they could make the whole series original and canon. You can get 40k fans and outsiders both on board because you're expanding the story for the fans and prime users will watch anything Amazon pushes as long as it's entertaining. I'm also pretty biased towards Necrons though, and a lot of people would be pissed off if it didn't include the Imperium.

I'm also not sure how well audiences would react to 40k Orks. They might be a little too over the top for the otherwise dark themes.

Eisenhorn was announced but not where it would be aired.

Don’t be afraid to walk away from this Henry if they start messing around.
It's Amazon. They ABSOLUTELY will fuck around. They'll want to diversify it up, they'll want to tone down the grimdark, they'll demand some clueless cunt in way over her head be in charge for equity's sake, et cetera. My worry is that there are people inside of GW that will be happy to let them do it becuase it's a perfect excuse to get away with doing it. Plus hey hey, they can backport any woke changes to the tabletop game. "We have to modify the tabletop our new fans from the movie demand it!"

The only reason I'm not openly despairing at this is that 1. I don't think Amazon has enough money left in the Prime budget to actually do anything with the 40k IP and 2. Henry actually gives a shit.

But it might be fun to theorycraft how they could NOT fuck this up.

A bunch of Imperial workers / PDF + an Inquisitor dealing with a Genestealer Cult? You could ramp it up over and over again as more and more creepy Tyranid shit and Political intrigue is found until you get the three armed freaks and bald psychic nutjobs. The end of the season the Inquisitor calls in the Space Marines for one scene where they just storm in and completely clear out the entire area that the Inquisitor + our Heroes were having trouble with only whoops, end of season cliffhanger: The Inquisitor wants to purge the entire city. No witnesses, no xenos taint. The end shot of the season is the Inquisitor knocking out the Hero to the sounds of Bolter Fire, Flamers, and Screaming Innocents.

Other ways? Space Marines on a Space Hulk? The Tau corrupting a human world, with the twist being the nice, happy, Progressive Tau are just like every other communist -- evil and selfish as fuck. Chaos Cultists of some sort, but, do you do Nurgle, Tzeentch, or Khorne? (No, they'll never let Slannesh on the screen.)

Cavil will want to be a Custodes. I suppose having one single Custodes alongside Marines and Humans would be interesting. Remembering that Custodes are supposed to be what, 1 head, 2 heads taller than Marines, who are 1 head taller than Humans? That'd be an intersting scene, if Human heroes were being pinned down by Space Marines (Chaos Space Marines?) and Cavilodes shows up and towers over them even more than they tower over the humans.

I don't know much about the series other than some fans think Event Horizon is a prequel since it has the chaos dimension, and the creators were fans of WH40K. But I'm interested in seeing what the project will bring. Anything that isn't just a fucking pozzed orgy I'll give a chance.

I hope there's no rule against bitching about "culture war" stuff or what ever its called in this thread because I gotta complain

There is a extremely high chance the show is going to be woke and / or a writer will make everything "in their own vision" which means its going to go off in a completely random direction that doesn't feel like Warhammer at all.

I'm going to expect nothing but complete disappointment going into this and if I turn out to be wrong it will be a pleasant surprise.

Given that it's Amazon, it's best to expect it to be more niggerfied than Rangz of Powa, which probably lost them a shit load of revenue they could have gotten. But these companies aren't in it to make money anymore. They're just shitting out propaganda to shit on everything White.

My wife's boyfriend and I can't wait to see the new trans bipoc Empress of Mankind Peoplekind taking on fascism and patriarchy

Cavil's involved and he's both a turbo autist and a huge 40k nerd. The problem is, there's a non-zero (in fact, approaching 100 percent) chance that Amazon will shove the exact wrong kind of people in under him, explicitly to counteract the fact that a disgusting straight white male -- who, if you haven't forgotten, are all but blacklisted from positions of power in Pedowood -- is in charge. So expect SOME kind of fuckery with the producer/director/screenwriter roles. Remember, strong men are anathema to the current crop of degenerate communist fucks infesting that entire industry -- they can't even get Superman right anymore, they have to subvert him, because the idea of a positive male role model is unthinkable to these idiots.

Similarly, while GW will have to sign off on anything and everything, this would be an EXCELLENT chance for the wokies inside of GW to be "forced" to accept some wokification of 40k. It's the exact kind of power game bullshit the wokies do. "Oh gosh my ally outside of the company is DEMANDING I do this? I guess I have no choice but to go along with this thing I really want to do but normally would NEVER be allowed to do in a million years. SHUCKS." And again, as I pondered above, if I was a woke piece of shit infesting GW, this would be a GREAT chance to try and backdoor any wokeshit they can get into the TV/Film projects into the 40k universe proper.

"Look, the Everyone (we care to listen to) LOVED the TV Show and it's Female Primaris SuperUltraMarines wot Don't Need No Man! And the Trans Lesbian Emperor was a hit! CLEARLY it's time that the tabletop starts to reflect our diverse modern sensibilities, they're REALLY POPULAR OPINIONS."

A reminder that this is how Amazon Studios operates as of 2021:

There's a lot of loose language to offer some flexibility rather than hardline rules, but even so, this indicates that there's going to be a whole department of DEI busybodies (and who knows how many activist employees besides) that will try to pressure these 40k productions to incorporate woke casting and staffing.

I've been doing some digging and I think everything hinges on Andy Smillie.
A bunch of news articles are saying he's the new creative director of Games Workshop (guess my post about not hearing about the role already aged like milk) so it might be up to him what gets signed off on the show, the tabletop, and the lore.
From what I can find about him the only red flags are, retweeting the "warhamer is for everyone" post GW made in 2020, being a massive Flesh Tearers fanboy that rivals ward and his smurfs, and running the Warhammer Community team back in 2017.

This all rests on Smilie and Cavill's turboautism.

Guess whatever way this goes, there will be a grimdark battle between their turboautism and amazon's all corrupting butthole of She-Sauron.

I gave up on official stuff with the for everybody post so... at worst I'll just not watch it like Rise of Skywalker.

Henry could easily leave if they fucking break the lore of 40k and I suspect GW cares about Superman with him being able to bring either A List connections or act in Warhammer+ than they do about Bezos' infringement on their terf.

This whole project is going to fail, not because of wokes, but because the 40K setting is indeed too over the top and bombastic; you can't just bland it out, water it down for the mass mainstream market, it'll be a derivative and uninteresting undertaking.

I wonder if it could be the Eisenhorn series because Luetin actually pointed it that the original project had been quietly canceled years ago so there is a chance to retool it.
But Abnett isn't involved (yet) for better or worse so probably unlikely, and if they did do an established character, even though I thought the first book was meh, I think Guant or Cain are probably the most normie friendly entries to 40k.
I doubt they gonna adapt anything, they'll prolly cook up their own shit for "creative freedom" while cribbing stuff left and ride disney style for nuwars. saves them paying royalties and stuff too, or any legal hassle in general. and it's not like GW ever gave much of a shit how people raped the lore. however they'll probably have an ultrasmurf show up (prolly towards the end), they're the franchise' posterboys after all.

I expect it will also be quite different from what we nerds expect:

1. it's a tv series, not a movie. they need to fill 6-12 hours of story with stuff
2. said stuff needs to be "accessible" to normies, so they can't go too hard into the lore or the universe
3. it doesn't have the budget to go full michael bay every episode, or even have extensive special effects and prosthetics (lot of fantasy/scifi series have that problem)
4. since you can't have a full hour of combat each episode, with hardly any aliens in exotic locations, prepare for a lot of "drama" involving a lot of humans in cosplay talking a lot to keep scope and cost down.
5. anything special will be saved for the first and last episode, first to hook people, last as some form of "climax" and to get people hyped for season 2. in the meantime you prolly get human cultists acting "crazy" and "devious", and that's all you'll see and hear of chaos.
6. woke, woke everywhere. aliens aren't "diverse", the imperium is fascist, so expect a lot of interpersonal human drama involving black female commissars who need no guardsman going full HeReSy whenever questioned. double-shot if they cast the black chick from kenobi.

at this point I can fully see them going all bitch-ass modern politics with some poor, coincidentally all black hive city cast getting discriminated by the evil white planetary governor, in bitch-ass sets that look like modern detroid or new york with some imperial gothic tacked on.

Random thought: Part of the lore of 40k is that the average imperial citizen doesn't know jack and shit about Chaos, the Heresey, Xenos (other than: they're bad)... That leans in well to a TV show or movie.

I'm thinking something Inquisitor related, even if not Eisenhorn.
